Okay, lots and lots of pictures to review...oh, no!  So from the top of the page:

marcszar: Wow!  What a shot!  That's very nice with the high school and that skyscraper in the foreground, and then on second glance you notice that there's an underground rail line splitting the avenue...I love it!  Everything seems to work in this picture! 9.5/10

ilikehotdogsalot: Nice bridges to nowhere!  I like the differnent colors of the forest, and that whale adds a nice touch, but I think too much of the picture is water.  Also, the forest seems a bit out of focus (or something to that effect...).  But it's a nice scene! 7/10

marcszar (again): Nice use of those sea cranes that all of sudden seem to be all the rage!  I also, for some reason, love that long strip of parking!  But I wish there were less repetition in the mounds of...dirt? coal?  Great picture, either way!  8/10

ilikehotdogsalot (again): I see it!  Finally!  I like the green lighting as well, but it is a bit too dark.  I think you should repost the same picture, except without the effects.  I'd like to see it as it was... 6/10

Mulefisk: Well, okay.  If this one were rated purely on the contents of the picture, I'd give it a 7/10 (because the buildings do look nice, even in repetition).  But that's obviously not why the picture was posted.  Your Photo Editing skills are amazing!  Just take a look at the front building's roof, and focus on that top ladder.  Absolutely realistic! So for quality, 10/10!

Joe 90: I wish I had some nature pics to post...but I don't have any natural areas in my region yet....  This is nice, though.  I think there are quite a few rocks in the waters, and as everyone else has already stated, those street-to-dirt road transitions are pretty sharp.  So about a 6.5/10

capitol1: Haha!  I wanted to do something like that in one of my cities!  That picture would awesome if there was some traffic...NO!  Just one single vehicle!  That'd be awesome!  Oh, yeah, those rocks in the middle of the water are a bit off-putting...7.5/10

Waz_Up_Tiger: Nice waterfront commerce!  I really like this picture, and all the buildings in it (I need to find that Pearl Continental...).  8.25/10

crazychickensc12: Love that resort hotel!  Aaronpetty says it's been posted before, but I don't think I rated or reviewed it then.  Let's see...the palm trees are a bit repetative, and I think there should be more fountains and or gardens on the premesis, you know?  There's a bit too much flat grass.  I love island in the bottom left corner! 7.5/10

Gridlock: Hahahaha!  Don't worry!  Hopefully people understand before they post pictures here that all of the ratings are just a matter of opinion.  They shouldn't take it too hard .  Now then, as for your picture, that six lane highway is excellent!  I would very much like to see the opposite side.  I would also like to see this highway with the backdrop of those buildings on the left, because when I look at the picture I find myself wondering what those buildings actually look like from the front.  So how about 7.25/10

Man!  That took a long time! But it was worth it, there are absolutely astounding pictures in this thread!  Now, I guess, I'll post my picture.  All right, this picture won't be the best, I guarantee (and that's not even judging agaisnt other people's picture).  And I don't have Photoshop, so that makes it worse...:

A bit of back story: I've only posted one other picture in this thread and it was pretty crappy.  So after seeing all these other awesome pictures (especially the ones lately), I felt inspired to try my hand once again.  So I set all the details to "high" and hit the day/night simulator and took about 13 pictures of my downtown area (and my computer faked its own death...).  I don't think this one's the best out of the bunch, but I think it's the one that fares the best chance here...(many of the rest of them can be found in the "Skyscraper District" thread).

What I'm really looking for more than how much you like the picture is what you think I could do to make it better (other than obvious stuff like more traffic).  For example, do you think this picture has a definate focus point?  And is this lighting good?  Would it look better as a pure day or night shot?  Stuff like that, so that I can maybe one day post a picture that would be of calibur for this thread...(also keep in mind that I don't have Photoshop...).  So thanks in advanced, and sorry about the uber long post!

Aaronperry: Thanks for the review!  I now know what Aleking is talking about when he says he doesn't like the ingame El-Rail.  The grass textures didn't bother me until I took this picture...now they're annoying!

theTeaCat: Welcome to Simtropolis!  When you post, click the little image next to the smiley, and it'll let you correctly post an image and change the size if it's too big.  Just put in the basic url for it, and there you go!  Now for the rating, I like the different farms!  But for once, I wish this picture had less traffic (because it's hard to imagine so much traffic on dirt roads...).  I like those walls that are separating the farms, but I think you should change them up for each farm.  But I've never been too good with farms, anyhow, so don't take my opinions to heart too much.  7/10 Hope you post another picture soon!

<Edit> Well, it seems you got it!...except I think it's too big.  It needs to be 800 x 600 or smaller, or a Moderator may come and either delete it or change it to a link...

Masochist: Thank you for your comments and for the welcome. i know what you mean about the traffic but when you bunch farms together, you get lots of traffic. you find lots of farms in the north of England and in Ireland where the rocks are used from the fields to make the walls but as I slowly figure out the lot editor more fences etc, will appear. 7/10 thats better than I thought.

Hello an welcome most skyscrapers seen in these images have been downloaded from stex, ur city wont grow them becuase u have standard maxis growth download some mods to improve need for skyscrapers and they will grow.

Hey aaronperry , the pic is 3 diagonal one way roads with no arrows , i like to build real dense ,and the 6 laner is a way of getting large volumes of traffic through the city , none of the lanes are connected ,and sims filter the lanes from differant highway junctions,also none of the traffic is going to the buildings in the pic , just passing through to the docks, then i place roads at the back to serve the Co , building s , so really the road is about transport , but the pic looks cool ,well i thought so,so i posted it , if i can work out how to get it on simtrop i will do an animation of rush hour on that particular stretch of road.Sry for being long winded ,but you did ask -).
