anubis89: This really is a very good picture, my freinds hates large buildings but i think htis looks good! perhaps the upper end of the image should be more Concenration. For example block flats. to have a sky scraper next to a 3 bedroom house doesnt make sence over all the lighting is bril.

    9/10

tyronne: thats not bad, the lighting on the buildings is supurb, but again it really doesnt make sence, how a huge 3000 capacity building next to 13 cap, perhaps you should of grew the area more.

    6/10

Shinnie02, that is not a link that I provided for the teirusu site on my last post. You have to copy and paste it into your browser and then activate to go there.

tyronne, your nitepicture on the second page is a solid 7 to me, but could have been an eight, if you would have taken the picture in playmode without the tools showing and the grid off, and maybe some more trees or more bldgs on the right. The bridge is also nicely done.

The second picture is a little poor in bldgs and too much green (too much park is like not enough) No mower can cut that much lawn (it looks like 15 acres each) and it is much too much wasted space . No rating, not to discourage you. 2.gif

anubis89, I don't want to rate your picture more than 6, since it has the same tools showing, but also when people build a tower like this irl, they place it near the border of a downtown to have a better general view of the city. Rarely these bldgs are built right in the middle of a City. And the beach don't really fit in there neither. (besides I hate those beaches with their square clean textures, why doesn't someone make a beach with transparent textures?)

Remember, this is my opinion and it is honest and neutral and supposed to be constructive, nothing more.

aaronperry, you're right, it's a very bad point of this city...

tyronne, i give it a 6/10, because of that big empty parks, which nobody can enter anyway. an entry and some trees would be nice there. i like when the alleys have got a little more space between each other(downtown). and i don't like the grid on the left side of the picture.

mrbisonm, well this city is an old one anyway, i imroved a lot since that CJ. transparent beaches? i think then you don't need a beach at all, you just leave the natural, build some parking lots and so on... the bad thing is that they are totally empty than. "growable" people would be nice... 18.gif

tyronne:  this is nice! there's some really nice looking buildings here, and there motorways are done very well, not too straight this image gives you a lot of character!

the only downside is the empty are top right, with trees! and all the open park areas look bland, perhaps put some benches or fountains within the park

    7/10

anubis89: This again is a nice image. the rails are good, and i like The crossover even tho it sticks out, I'd imagine that to be in a terraced street! the buildings are nice also.

However Lmao, Come on man get your themes sorted out. Towards the top you have run down accommodation, middle high rise poor estate! then bottom ultra modern nice C$$$ buildings! that plaza really sticks out next to the high rise flats.

    7/10

anubis89, growable people? you probably mean ploppable, like trees. The beach I would like is with an invisible groundtexture, but containing the people, the sunshades, beach chairs etc. That would be cool. I think I will have to do this myself oneday.

    yes i mean ploppable 46.gif45.gif

yes a beach like that would be nice. maybe you can upload yours on the STEX when it's done.

btw, did goldiva upload a beach mod that makes the sand white?

    aaronperry:

well, i don't think it's unrealistic, those houses with a red/orange roof don't look that poor. between those rich and poor houses is a park anyway. that's my opinion..

anubis89: Very nice use of high-rises. I also like that pedestrian plaza you've made.

    7/10

Shinnie02: While that certainly looks like an effective road layout, to get better ratings, you might want to try doing a more realistic approach, getting rid of all those grids, and zoning abit more haphazardly.

    5/10

Now, onto mine, a simple suburban neighborhood located on a hillside.

I've done loads of twisted suburbs with winding roads. The reason for having a more griddy appearance and layout in that screenshot is because it is in a large tile map with high density commercial. There are some twiste streets but its really hard to spot out because they blend in..so yeh It's realistic in a way because it is compacted for more people to fit in and i've seen these layouts in some areas. May sound strange but it actually adds up nicely 4.gif anyways mulefisk thats a nice lil suburb you got there. Picture looks enhanced because it doesnt look like an ingame picture. quite pretty but something keeps on bothering me about it...i don't know what.... anyways 8/10

Great Thread this is. I am submitting some pics soon as well.

Anubis. your pic looks very nice. just one remark regarding the use of those catenaries. Span a line between both poles, the line will go straight (as lines tend to do) but your railway is curved. The train will miss the catenary this way, unless it is equiped like trolley busses are (hardly possible as trains tend to go too fast for use of that system). The catenary should be posted just before the curve. Unfortunatelly there is not enough room I would guess.

hmm I think I can jump in on this thread:

Mulefisk:  nice suburban layout.  I really like the use of trees here and you photoshop skills are decent.  The one BAT does show up a lot in this pic though so I rate it a:

    7/10

    Anubis89:  very excellent work with elevation and nice integration of road and rail here.  I also like the diversity in buildings and the river in the pic.  I give this an;

    8/10

    now for my submission:

soldyn: I give your picture a 7/10. I like the split avenue with the flower gardens as a median, but I think that you could have used some more variaty in apartment buildings. Still, its a nice peaceful looking picture, good job!

sepsis: I say that picture deserves an 8/10. Cool building technique with the underwater highway tunnel and nice looking statue/flags combination. I also like the barrier walls. Personally though, I would have added some light flora, such as bushes or small trees, since the land around the statue looks a little barren. Still, great work!

soldyne - I love those rows of apartments, they actually looks like they were one huge building! The gardens in the middle of avenue are also nice. I give it 8/10.

sepsis - That pic looks good, but I second zzsim - I would also added some flora. I give the same rating for it, 8/10.

sepsis, the flags are very nice, but this big statue should be placed a little different, i don't know if there is something special in the direction this man and the women are looking , but it makes no sence like this... they should look in the direction of the tunnel or the highway... (my opinion) i also miss some vegetation there, as zzsim already said. 5/10

but your Cj i actually very cool, i like the idea of a socialists state...

soldyne, i really like this one, your urban beautification pack looks nice, and it looks very peaceful overall 9/10

    sorry for my english

Some nice stuff here. Good ideas and good execution. I'll blanket it with a 7.5 out of 10 since most of them have been commented to death already  and I generally agree with everyone 10.gif .

Except I also think some people are forgetting that Sepsis is running a socialist state, where aesthetics and greenery may not be the top priority. In fact I'm surprised he hasn't concreted the whole area around the statue!

Anyways, here's some small town action for you..

    Hello My People.

I'm Sorry i was on holiday havent been to my thread in ages. Im glad to see its still goin.

I dont think i have the energy to rate all the images. and i have an idea to keep the rating a little more organised. The next image i host will be called 3.0 the image after that will be 3.1, 3.2, ect when it gets to 3.9 it goes 4.0, that way when rating u can list the image number. Thanks guys and i will try and rate all images from now on.
