This is a really great city journal! 9.gif

I love reading about such realistic city journals, hopefully after I get my broken sim city 4 disc replaced I'll be able to make more interesting cities.

    In the coming weeks, you will be re-introduced to Lattica.  Not only will the story of this great city continue, but you will also be introduced to Lattica's first exurb.  So just hold on a little longer...a pretty awesome update is in the making.

    jacqulina: thanks again!
    simster6: Look for more updates on Ashley Hills in the next week or so.
    sim1234: Thanks so much!  I hope you continue to enjoy this CJ in the future.
    Joaquin: Thank you.  All the major retailers came from the STEX.
    city_lover-niko: It's an honor to have one of my CJ readers living in my city.
    pootrevor: thanks.
    Everyone:  Sorry that Lattica's been inactive for the past month.  This past month has been pretty crazy.  I'm working on a major update in the next week to make up for lost time...so hold on, there's more to come.  As I said earlier, this CJ isn't dead, but it is sort of on hold at least until November.  On a good note, I'll squeeze out an update or two when I can, and there's an update on the way for next week.  Until then, here's some questions for you guys...

    Is Lattica developing in a way that you like?

    What's the city missing?

    What would you like to see in the coming updates?

    Thanks for hanging in there and see you all soon.

    Yes! It's back!

    Can't wait to see Riverside....I'm not exactly sure what an exurb is, but can't wait to see it.

    ginchael: Riverbend has been put on hold until the next update...I want it to be absolutely perfect.  In the meantime, you can check out Meade County, which is currently as close to suburban perfection as it gets in Lattica.
    sim1234: Thanks for hanging in there!  Here's an update for ya...
    ________________________________________________________________________________________

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5391/12fb.jpg align=baseline>

    Here it is...the new Brantley-Meade County is here.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5843/24wq.jpg align=baseline>
    Meade County is currently 14,000 sims strong...its population already matches Springfield County and it continues to grow.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5294/36st.jpg align=baseline>
    South Brantley already has a small skyline of midrises.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/2751/40qj.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown Brantley has the tallest buildings in the county.  Brantley now completes a group of what Latticans affectionately call the Northern Beltway Cities.  Milton - Brantley - Ashley Hills all run along the northern beltway, plus they boast a better economy and higher land values than the rest of metro Lattica.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5535/57gz.jpg align=baseline>
    Brantley's low-density communities are the heart and soul of Lattica's northern suburbs.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5176/66hq.jpg align=baseline>
    The Promenade at Meade :: Phase One
    Phase One features stores and homes with common western architecture.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5641/73fe.jpg align=baseline>
    The Promenade at Meade :: Phase Two
    Phase Two features unique eauropean architecture

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/6564/87ky.jpg align=baseline>
    Brantley's sims enjoy quiet and relaxing communities.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/8643/99qj.jpg align=baseline>
    Metro Lattica's newest limited access highway isn't an interstate highway, but it will soon get just as much traffic.  Riverbend Expressway stretches from the I-70/I-265 interchange northward through Riverbend County.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/6701/105va.jpg align=baseline>
    Riverbend Expressway/I-265 Interchange

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3937/119ph.jpg align=baseline>
    The expressway connects Lattica's suburbs in the extreme northern metro area to the inner city.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3047/126qm.jpg align=baseline>
    Riverbend Expressway continues its northward track through Riverbend County.  Planners are preparing to develop the mostly rural county with luxurious swim/tennis/golf communities once the highway construction is completed.

    <ahttp://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5040/134jq.jpg align=baseline>
    The I-70/I-265/Riverbend Expwy. Interchange is already a landmark in Meade County...it's another one of Lattica's trademark massive highway interchanges.
    __________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Thanks for visiting Meade County.  I'll try to squeeze out another update or two soon (maybe).  If not, look for a pretty huge update in the coming weeks.  Hope you enjoyed Lattica's newest suburb!

    Nice to see sg's mega lot here, and the surrounding residential development layouts. I like the bit about the growing cities around the northern part of the beltway... reminds me a bit of D.C. or Altanta, how their beltways have been a major kernel for growth.

    Great looking city, its fantastically designed and beautifully presented. Y9ou asked for suggestions so I think you should add more trees aorund the actual city part, but besides that I think the CJ looks fantastic!

    Sorry its been so long since I've updated...but have no fear...a series of updates are in the works.

    And here's a few hints of what's to come:
    :: Meade County is now much bigger than its last reported pop. of 14,000
    :: You'll be introduced to two new counties: Riverbend County & Weber County

    just hold on a little longer...updates are coming.

    Here it is, guys.  The death-defying CJ is back with the biggest update ever, so get comfy...there's plenty to see.

    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/3751/region13ox.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica's slowly becoming a sprawling mass of nearly 200,000 sims.

    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/6858/region27gg.jpg align=baseline>
    You can still make out the city's distinct skyline that follows the Chastain River.

    What's Lattica up to these days?
    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5962/15dn2.jpg align=baseline>
    Unfortunately, Lattica has hit somewhat of a low point in its short history.  Davidson County's population continues to slowly decline while surrounding counties slowly grow.  So this update is all about the 'burbs...let's take a look at some older 'burbs and check out some new ones too.

    :: Meade County ::
    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/1745/16lu.jpg align=baseline>
    Meade County continues to grow at a rapid pace.

    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/9229/29pd.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown Brantley is strangely dense along with its neighbors.  The city's northern suburbs are beginning to form their own skyline.

    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5632/39bm.jpg align=baseline>
    Yep, the traffic's getting worse in Brantley.

    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/5015/40pt.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica's own transit system is fueling Brantley's growth.  Sims here are only a quick train ride away from Lattica.

    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/9378/57yd.jpg align=baseline>
    Even with mass transit options, Meade County still has some of the worst traffic in the area.

    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/7348/60iv.jpg align=baseline>
    And here are the sprawling suburbs...

    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/2935/73bt.jpg align=baseline>
    Everywhere you look, cookie cutter homes line the streets.

    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/5066/80oi.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica's suburbs continue to stretch along I-265 with no end in sight.

    :: Riverbend County ::
    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/6281/15wv.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica's first exurb is here.

    <ahttp://img354.imageshack.us/img354/8048/23bu1.jpg align=baseline>
    Unlike other growing towns in the area, Riverbend was actually planned.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6499/35df.jpg align=baseline>
    Only Hemstead's wealthiest sims live here.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/9968/48ep.jpg align=baseline>
    Riverbend has the small-town atmosphere that many sims were looking for.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4095/50ok1.jpg align=baseline>
    The Riverbend Expressway connects the town with I-265 in Meade County, which connects with I-65 in Davidson County...it all makes for a pretty long commute.

    :: Springfield County ::
    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6879/12df.jpg align=baseline>
    It's yet another booming suburb north of Lattica.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/8049/26lt1.jpg align=baseline>
    While not quite as dense as Brantley, Milton still adds to the northern skyline.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6973/37po.jpg align=baseline>
    More strip-centers and postage stamp communities fill the county.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4406/41zf.jpg align=baseline>
    Milton continues to sprawl to the northwest.

    <ahttp://img365.imageshack.us/img365/5388/54sn.jpg align=baseline>
    Yet another limited-access highway had to go up to ease traffic congestion.

    :: Weber County ::
    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/8306/19lh.jpg align=baseline>
    Lookout!  Weber County is good old-fashioned unplanned sprawl at its worst.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/557/21xc.jpg align=baseline>
    As the city's northern suburbs begin to fill up, sims had to look to the west for low taxes, better schools and faster commutes.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7820/31tk.jpg align=baseline>
    The Weber Regional Hospital makes sure sims stay healthy.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/1517/40oq.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica's Southwest Expressway becomes the Weber Expressway in Weber County: a six-lane divided highway with an extra-wide median.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/4315/53ev.jpg align=baseline>
    Tons of retail stores crowded around the Weber Expressway/I-70 interchange.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/8168/65gy.jpg align=baseline>
    The Weber Mall sprouted up along the busy highway.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7643/73qk.jpg align=baseline>
    Farther to the west, even more development is sprouting up.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7942/83zt.jpg align=baseline>
    ...and with the new residential growth, even more retail followed.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/2478/94jc.jpg align=baseline>
    The rural west side of town is now beginning to face development.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/3582/109ek.jpg align=baseline>
    At least Weber County boasts larger, more affordable homes compared to the rest of the area.

    :: Shoale County ::
    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7647/19lg1.jpg align=baseline>
    As Weber grew along I-10 to the west, Shoaleville is now growing along I-65 to the south.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/8634/20vb.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown Shoaleville already boasts some modern midrises.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/4454/32xv.jpg align=baseline>
    You know the story here.  It's another Lattica suburb.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/2537/45ad.jpg align=baseline>
    I-65 is beginning to face congestion as thousands of sims commute north to Lattica.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/396/53pn1.jpg align=baseline>
    Lattica's Southeast Expressway is beginning to draw lots of commercial development.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7286/61xp.jpg align=baseline>
    Shoale County promises some of the best schools in the region.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/1934/70jr.jpg align=baseline>
    Expect more development to follow as Lattica's now famous perimeter highway (I-70) wraps through Shoale County.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/138/83fo.jpg align=baseline>
    The new Sheraton Hotel is a hint that Shoale County is about to take a more upscale turn.

    <ahttp://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7650/93sm.jpg align=baseline>
    Residential developers are already planning a massive upscale riverfront village not unlike Riverbend to the far north.
