Mapping New Zealand

Welcome! I have decided to start mapping Aoteroa, land of the long white cloud! I believe it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I am suprised there is not more maps on it. 

Lets start!

Kaikoura, Canterbury

Kaikoura is a town of around 3000 and is nestled between the sea and seaward kaikoura ranges. Tourism is incredibly important in the town because of the whale watching.

I will be taking requests for maps of New Zealand so if you want a map of NZ made come here!

Akaroa, Canterbury

Akaroa is a former french settlement on the site of one of the Banks Peninsula volcanoes. Being the only town in NZ that uses 'rue' instead of street the town retains its french heritage with the annual French festival. The peninsula is also home to the rare Hectors Dolphin which may be the first dolphin in the world to become extinct.

Fishstix I will have a go at doing Rotorua. I have never been there so it will be harder but I will give it a shot.

Fishstix I have incredibly quickly made a map of Rotorua.

I will redo the region as the lakes do not have cliffs but is this the area you want? (Or if you want this one you could save me a lot of time!!)
