What are you:

City Dweller

Suburbanite

Country Lover

Mountain Hiker

Islander

Jungle Monkey

I'm a Suburbanite living outside of Denver. Life here is a little rough (it's not one of the richest neighborhoods). But living here teaches you street smarts. I go to a mostly Hispanic school with only about 5% White. It's not the greatest place to live but it does for now.

Energy Monkey, it sounds like you either live in California or in lower Texas... anyways, back on subject.

I'm actually all of those. Although I live in the suburbs, I actually both love the city when I like to see life grow, expand, and conquer the skies, but I like the country because of how beautiful and relaxing it can be.

Same here. I love the burbs, as well as the city, and the wilderness. A combination of those would be great.

At present, I'm a suburbanite, but I'll definately live in a city when I'm older.

I thought this was related to those titles the board gave us for a minute. Anyway, although it says I'm a suburbanite below my name (and according to where I live, in an isolated suburb of Providence RI, that is true) I am more of a city person. Each time I go into some sort of city, I'm always enjoying the energy of urban life.

I'd say Country Lover-Mountain Hiker-Suburbanite.  To invent a term, I'm a yrppie (young rural professional).

Im a Just-out-of-town-anite

I live about half a mile away from the town centre in Victorian terraces. Its not the suburbs and its not the town centre. I suppose Id also be a country dweller considering my town is only 45,000 in the middle of nowhere and I back onto about 10 miles of marshes and fenland.

I'd have to say that currently I'd be a mix of suburbanite and city dweller, I live on the outskirts of a small town, so it wouldn't be considered suburbs... nor in the city. It's pretty much houses around, but we do have a small patch of woods in our back yard.

Idealy, I would like living probably in either one of the extremes, or somewhere inbetween. I'd like to live in a big city for at least a few years, to experience it. I've only been to big cities a few times (like Chichago, St. Louis, etc.) and enjoyed my times there, but I don't know if I'd like everyday life there. On the other hand, I love the wilderness and outdoors and can see myself living in a secluded cabin in the mountains also. I don't know what'll happen, but I'd like to at least try both of those.

I am a park dweller.

I live in the middle of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park in the Town of Wasaga Beach.  14 Km. of golden sand beach on Nottawasaga Bay, heavy tourism in the summer, quiet in winter although heavy on the skiing and snowmobiling sports.

The area is mostly evergreens with some stands of red and white oak, and lots of farms growing everyting from Canola to Pigs to Wheat.  Lots of cows (with calves, right now), several farms have horses, and there are one or twobreeders nearby who are starting to put new foals out in the front paddocks.

There is at least one maple bush, and more to the west in Grey County where the Niagara Escarpment runs into Lake Huron.  A lot of apple country over that way, and 11 neat water falls.

Heavy Alpine Skiing about 30 Km to the west in the Blue "Mountains".  The scaps are sharp and high enough for most skiers who are not able to find real mountains.  Lots of summer activities around the Town of Meaford, whiich also has a Canadian Forces Base.

Probably a mix between suburbanite and city dweller. But in a few years I would like to move downtown. The highrise condos are cheaper then most cities and downtown is booming lately. My area is a working class neighbourhood, mostly.  Crime is very low but most people around here are lower middle class.

I would qualify as a country lover. I lived in the suburbs of the Twin Cities until I was six when my family moved into the countryside. I currently go to college in Fargo which is almost a city. There is bus service form the university to various shpping areas and such but it is still a lot easier to drive, so it feels more suburban. If you have to drive to get groceries anyway, might as well live where it's clean and quiet.

Maple bush ::= An area of sugar maples, usually with a sugar shack, which is a maple products manufacturing site.

I am retired, but I have DSL Internet, and a satellite TV system with about 500 channels.  Cable, shmable.

The guy next door is a trucking expediter and works completely out of his home using phones and the Internet.  You don't have to be retired to live in a decent place.9.gif

What the heck is there for you guys to do there? Do they even have a swimming pool or something? Or do you just go to Edmonton to do stuff. It looks like a drab little town.

That was completely random.

NOB, the area around you sounds so peaceful and beautiful... that's also why I like I am a country lover.

I am all of these. During my childhood I have lived in the heart of the city of Kiev in Ukraine in a tenement house.

Now I live in the suburbs in Pittsburgh, PA in the United States, but still only 1 mile from downtown. I love good architecture, but still prefer nature. 2.gif

'NOB, the area around you sounds so peaceful and beautiful'

If you think 100s of 1000s of people crowding it every summer, and smoggy days may-october is beautiful. 3.gif Northern Ontario (The REAL Northern Ontario) is much better. 4.gif

My neighbourhood is suburban-urban. It's in the 'suburbs' about a quarter mile away from the edge of downtown, but nearby are apartment towers and a university, so it's not really suburban or uban, just city residential. Our old place was sububan though, with a major highway splitting it and shopping malls and curvy streets and such.

I'd rather live outside of town, about 5 miles down the street. There are big houses in the hills with a view of the city. It's nice. 4.gif

I'm definitely a city dweller - living in the centre of Paris, 1 km away from the Eiffel Tower. And I'm a Dune Hiker, an Ocean Swimmer, Wave Lover, etc : I love the sea.
