A lot of enthusiasm! I should bulid airports more often...3.gif

I appreciate all those who commented, and encourage you to come visit again!

    Hawkeye9: Thanks!

39.gifAs my 50th poster, you will have the honor of giving the airport a name that will be used with its generic name. Congratulations!39.gif

    Starrychelx: Thank you!

    Haljackey: Thanks a lot!

Dfnva: Thank you! Yes, I thought it make more sense for the most parking to be the farthest away.

    Twenty20: Thank you!

Psander5: Thanks a lot! I've been doing a lot of lurking on other CJs/MDs and the "Show us your airports!" thread.

    Griffen_star: Thank you.

SirUnger: Thanks. Let's just say you ain't seen nothing yet!3.gif

    Tahill79: Thanks a lot!

You thought naming the first airport was nice? Just wait and see what the 100th poster gets!2.gif

In other, recent news, I've purchased Photoshop, so I might be experimenting with it and other picture-editing in future updates. Update 6 will no doubt be here before the end of the week.

    Cheers!9.gif

Ah darn it. lol When you asked what was missing from the region, I was thinking "WATER!", buuuut then you showed me there was an entire ocean, so yeah, hahaha. I guess it was the airport huh. Well disregarding that little thing, very nice region! I love your small cities, and the stores fit very nicely amongst the tree's.

I see that you're an observer nation for the Alliance. Just call me a Founding Nation. ^^

Archean: Thanks, and I appreciate you visiting! It's an honor to have a founding nation here!

It isn't exactly the ocean, though. It's actually the Lamona Sea, which connects to the Pacific.

Jacqulina: Thanks! Always good to see you here!

Well, to business. I have no update tonight (no surprises there, right?21.gif) but you see, I'm trying to keep up with my school work, and I've been much too busy. So to make up for it, I will have updates 6 AND 7 this weekend to make up for lost time, so stay tuned!

Wow, tough crowd. Maybe this'll get you interested. It's a pic I edited with Photoshop that will be in the next update. It's not the best, but I'm working on it. Tell me what you think!

    GallowayCitynew.jpg

And here's the old one for a comparison.

Nice, I like how US-6 breaks into one-ways to go into downtown Galloway. It's realistic in many cities/towns where a main road is divided as such when going through a downtown, but something I rarely see in CJ's. I look forward to a future update where you showcase Galloway.

Don't sweat a lack of replies... you've got a good CJ.

    Greekman: Thanks!

Haljackey: Thanks! There will be plenty more signs soon!

    Schulmanator: Thanks a lot!

Dfnva: Thanks. That's usually why I split up the main roads going into towns. That, and it doesn't make much sense to destroy buildings to squeeze an avenue in between.

I understand about the lack of replies. Thanks for the encouragement!

    kj3400-CommonwealthofPradiseBanner.jpg

Update 6 has no history. Why? Well,we're visiting Galloway City!

Remember this? This was the situation when the small town realized it had too much traffic on this road (the north-south one) So they decided to expand it.

    GallowayGity-May20191225726357.jpg

The arrangement today. As you can see USp 3 has not been widened yet, but that will change soon because of the increasing traffic in the downtown area.
Edit: at the time I posted these I didn't see the error, but USp 6 comes in from the west like USp 3, not from the south

    GallowayGity2.jpg

South of downtown, the two one way roads end at a roundabout where USp 3 peels off to the east and USp 6 continues south. It retains 4 lanes for a little ways after the roundabout. USp 3 was realigned to a different line to fit the roundabout. some development had to be destroyed for all this though.

Edit: USp 6 doesn't come down here as noted in the previous pic.

    GallowayGity.jpg

The layout north of here. More signs were added as the ones shown were from when USp 6 NB was 2 way.

    GallowayCitynew.jpg

The two bridges for USp 6.

    GallowayGity-Aug.jpg

USp 6 narrowing down to a two lane road. Note the rail layout. This was to somewhat segregate freight rail from commuter rail. Also note how I've grayed the pic. I wanted to show the industrial area as more gritty.

    GallowayGity3.jpg

Hope you enjoyed this rather short update. The next update will be about two new towns.

     Cheers!9.gif

I absolutely loved the intersection in your first screen. You're main street perhaps? Very nice small town feel to it, very good.

And the photoshopped screens give your town a more "real world" feel to them, for example the last one showing us a cloudy day over a rail junction. Very well done, keep this up and the reply problem will disappear. ^^

Archean: Thank you! Yes, it is Main Street. I've never done Photoshop before, so I'm glad it isn't bad.

    Deathtopumpkins: Thanks a lot!

The Commonwealth of Paradise has started a page on the SC4 Wiki! Click here to visit it! It's still developing, and I'm still getting an idea of how to organize the page, but I thought you might like to see it.
Update 7 will be here tomorrow. Until then....

Update 7 is here! I was originally going to show an additional town, but I didn't think it was ready. So it will have its own update.

    Update 7:
    Sumter  Creek

You may think this town of 3,728 people is just another dot on the ever growing map of Paradise, but it is very important in the farming community. You see, the president had just passed the LEX Act which put no restrictions on what type of farms could be grown in the Commonwealth, and Sumter Creek was the first town to grow these new farming "estates."'

Here farmers grow wheat, grapes, lavender, maples, eucalyptus trees, and if you strain your eyes at the bottom, bananas. The farm growing maples also harvests rainbow trout.

    SumterCreek-Oct1.jpg

Cottonwoods and various vegetables grow here.

    SumterCreek-Oct2.jpg

In this shot you see a better view of the bananas; also you can see peppers, more grapes, and agave, a type of plant grown in central America. This type of agave is used to make tequila. Needless to say, the workers are often drunk on the job.

    SumterCreek-Apr1.jpg

The estate was so successful the town decided to start another, Here's the area before it was cleared of trees (and the edges refined by me!)

    SumterCreek-Nov1.jpg

The town, isn't very important otherwise. It lies at the ends of Pd. (Paradise) Rts. 27 and 175, but that's about all. Other wise it's your typical small town, though oddly enough there is no creek (yet!2.gif). Here's some pics.

    The business district.

    SumterCreek-Apr2.jpg

    The town's train station.

    SumterCreek-Apr3.jpg

    Development going on...

    SumterCreek-Apr4.jpg

An overview of the town (I'm working on making route markers for my region, so no labeling15.gif).....

    SumterCreek-Mar.jpg

And an overview of the town and the present farming estate.

    SumterCreek-Nov.jpg

I hope you enjoyed this update. Comments, constructive criticism, and questions are welcome!

    Cheers!9.gif

    Update 8 is here.

    Update 8: Campfield

I don't know if you remember those anti-industrial people from South Galloway City, but they aren't done in the story of the Commonwealth. With the decreasing space in their area, they decided to move to the mainland (making a large bypass of the industrial area on the north shore). They founded a small town north of Galloway City and east of Bayview-Burgess called Campfield. So, without further ado, I'm going to shut up and show you the pretty pictures. Note the Photoshopping on some of them. (I got bored21.gif)

And another one, just for funsies3.gif....

Nice construction shots (Rte. 1/3 Bypass??) and nice rural areas. I like how your roads wind in and around the different farms and how you use trees as borders or shelter belts.

Absolutely beautiful! You're doing very well with your small rural towns. And the farms are very attractive and colorful, along with the smooth edges and the tree's as borders, your farms are very eye catching to say the least.

I keep loving your towns, they look so nice to live in. And with all this development I see in your updates, you'll be a full member state in no time.

    Time for the daily replies!

    Schulmanator: Thanks a lot!

Dfnva: Thanks. (try future I-1!).....You know, I probably shouldn't have said that41.gif

Archean: Thank you. I'm looking forward to becoming a full member.

Well now that I've let everone know,I'm opening up another contest. This one should be interesting......

    Name that Highway!  Contest

Basically I want you to tell me where I'm buliding that highway. It can only be in one of the towns/cities in the 7 updates we've seen so far, so it shouldn't be hard. The winner gets to name the entire highway, and tell me whether they want highways numbered American style, or British style (i.e. motorways). So the person who wins can have a significant impact on how the Commonwealth develops its infrastructure. If no one wins, then the 100th poster will get that lucky decision for them. All people who participated will get consolation prizes. So get out there and guess. You can't lose!

You want a hint? cough *check Wiki* cough cough

    Good luck!44.gif
