The land behind the station was originally nothing but rice paddies. When the Shinkansen station was built, department stores were built there, high-rise houses were built, and a shopping district was created for the residents. -

This is in front of the Shinkansen station. The Shinkansen connects to nearby major cities and takes a short time to arrive. In Japan, just by building a Shinkansen station in a barren land, land prices rise, and residential and commercial areas are built one after another around it, and you can see prosperity just like in SimCity. -
04 Hosen City -Part4-
reg posted a City Journal entry in Tenryu Prefecture -Urban Development Records-
I'll get away from the downtown and see an area in a suburb. This is the station in the distance which isn't so far from downtown. The station is surrounded by high-rise residential buildings. When I get away a little, it'll be only small housing, and a rice paddy and a field can be seen now here and there. It's harvest time. Japanese people eat rice as their staple food, and here in Hosen City, they are also growing rice. A large river runs through the center of Hosen City. Dikes have been built to prevent floods. A row of cherry trees along the riverbed. That's all. To be continued next time. -

A view of the city area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, we'll take a look at a city that's a little further away from the city center. The cherry blossoms are in bloom at the park for the kids and it's beautiful. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay tuned for the next installment. Next time, we will introduce areas further away from the city center. -
