The Countess of Tangaloor
Fleet Captain von Bremerhaven, Governor of the Bureau of Feline Affairs Wirdleplex, was very pleased to see that his daughter, Katherine Isabella, graduated as the valedictorian of her class at Busscastle College, the same institution where the BFA Governor-General and the Supreme Wirdle studied. Of course, now the young lady needs a job; one befitting both her lineage and her talent. He brought this up at the BFA Privy Council meeting. Queen Vera offered to give her a title in Harar. The newly-formed County of Tangaloor in eastern Harar is a small mountainous area, best known for its catnip, impressive seaside cliffs and its important feline shrine. This would be a great resume-building assignment for Katherine to get her start in politics.
And now, without further ado, allow me to introduce Katherine, Countess of Tangaloor, who will be referred to as Katherine II to differentiate between her and the Regent of Wirdleonia.
Countess Katherine II is the newest member of the Schulmania feline family. Please, welcome her warmly.
Katherine, who finished her degree in Feline Studies at Busscastle College as an expert in feline anthropology (the felines refer to it as “felinology”), would be a good caretaker for the shrine in Tangaloor, an important pilgrimage site in Harar. As her first official act, even before she left The Wirdleplex for Harar, she commissioned a catnip granary and a villa for herself. Inspired by the existing shrine and the Sacred Precinct near her alma mater, the new structures will be in a formal Temple Style and built to blend in perfectly with the seaside shrine.
The rocky shore of eastern Harar seems like an unlikely place for an important feline shrine. But this is where Katherine will begin her political career.
The catnip granary houses the single largest cache of the herb in the feline world. Central Harar has several premium non-domesticated catnip strains which produce some of the finest catnip tea available. This storage facility will be very welcome to the feline populace.
The complex, when completed, includes the temple, the granary and the villa. Adjacent, a catnip garden awaits weary pilgrims and travelers.
Harari vessels arrive carrying pilgrims or catnip traders
The Countess was visited by her father, who was impressed with the quality of the granary and villa. And he was also pleased with the new crop of catnip.
The shrine, Temple of the Ceiling Cat, has been at this location for many years. The Ceiling Cat is a central part of the beliefs of the sect known as the Cheezburgerites. Perhaps you have heard of them?
The Cheezburgerites believe that the Ceiling Cat will save them from the doom caused by the evil Basement Cat…
But, at Katherine’s villa, there is no doom on the horizon – only fresh catnip salad. Want some?
This will be a focal point for those traveling through Harar
Katherine expects to offer hospitality to many Harar and Schulminions as they pass through
Katherine’s catnip patch will surely become a popular attraction in Tangaloor
The Countess of Tangaloor is starting small, but with her talent and ambition, she is certain to advance far in the feline realm. Welcome, Katherine II!
