I haven't done anything just wanted to show you a Zoom 4 since all that's been seen is zoom 5s Now for my 3dsMax fun, Which I really enjoy now, cus you can change the render angle. This was a fun building, I don't think I'll release it, I'm going to take a little hiatus, I'm going to the Tampa Birthday party tommorrow, don't know if anything will get done, I'm going to start working on BoA in 3dsMax and finishing the modeling, then adding the things I got from Chirs (DA) and finish the window texture.

I think the building is OK so I don't really think I need to go back and add another 52 meters, but if its really neccesary I think I could figure out a way. I officaly have 3ds Max and I'm going to make a quick little BAT and test it out I'll show ya laters

I-4 is going to have a huge pond/fountain I-275 is just going have a grassy median for future deveolpments incase it needs to become a 20 lane highway. FDOT is stupid and will not give us Rail so any hope for rail you have it should be crushed. Mine has. I do know that they are making Green St. into a frontage road, and perhaps Laurel if they keep it, I'm not really sure cus they are building ontop of it. check mytbi.com it has renders and information on it. Here are I-4 Renders, the new toll road is going to look the same ( the one connecting the Cross Town and I-4 through Ybor)

WELCOME TO PAGE 9!!!! If I were to change the small windows it would take away from the exact perfection of the building, Lemme show you what I mean. The outer windows are larger, while the inner windows are smaller, the reason is because the conference rooms are on those parts, while offices are in the corners. The Mullions are too think, I do need to go back and fix them, well mostly just the outer frame ones. The middle ones are only .1 thick if I were to change it I don't think it would show up, however I will try .05 here is a close up of the building showing the small windows vs the big windows. This is a very minute detail and if changed it won't look like the real building. Slim: Do you see? I may want to drop the thing slightly, but not really enough to scale up, I have the building almost exactly scaled, its 176 meters IRL and I got it 176 exactly with 4.5 meters inbetween each floor. I should've taken picks of the interior but i only took out of the window so i got views instead of marveling the interior design. If it wasn't for Jason's 1 on 1 tutorial this would not be possible at all, and I plan on using this technique a lot on my buildings, I need to re-do a few of the older ones too because i was walking around and noticed some minute details i left out on SunTrust, and I think I can try again on AmSouth(Now Regions but I'm going to name it 100 N. Tampa anyways) and do better. I am going to take your suggestion and test it out to see if I lowered it just slightly if it adds more realism, but It might not. Added mullions. Worked on the texture with Jason, got a lot more to do. Only the front has mullions right now, but i'll be working on that all day and night. Also, I'm planning on going to the 120th birthday of Tampa on Monday, I'll take pictures. (Tampa is actually a lot older but it wasn't until 1887 that we successfully remained a city, read my history of tampa thread for more info, Earliest organization of tampa dates back to around 1840) Thanks Andi and Spiderman BTW Thought I would share with you the house of dreams in Tampa, its located a few houses north of E. Very Nice I'm hoping to get started doing 3ds Max soon! I hope its not too difficult. I'm still waiting for my ID though. I like the elements of this building! The mullions look a lot better thicker fo sho.

Hate to triple post but... I've run into a delima. I need to create a roof on this building (The white one) Here is the real building This is what i've done Now the name is so small its not going to matter what I call it but because I don't like Bagels I named it what it used to be: Got Pizza. Read the tutorials and it didn't really help much. I kept running into issues. Really annoying ones.

Pino City: West Tampa: West Tampa was founded in 1892 by Scottish immigrant and successful attorney Hugh MacFarlane. He founded the town with the intention of luring the cigar industry and its workers. It was one of the top cigar-making cities in the country during the early 20th Century along with Ybor City. West Tampa, however, was absorbed by the city of Tampa in 1925 and became a city neighborhood.West Tampa was the competing Cigar town with Ybor. Due to hatred of the spanish by the Cubans, because of the treatment they recieved in Cuba, they refused to work for the Spanish Cigar factories, so most of the Spanish factory owners moved to West Tampa. West Tampa flourished from the 1900s up until the interstate ripped through and divided it in half, Today I-275 is threatening to destroy even more of the historic district. Already the interstate runs inbetween Green St. and Laurel St., FDOT wants to destroy Laurel Street to spread out I-275 in order to have a median. All of the buildings on Laurel street have either been destroyed or moved. West Tampans were lucky that the interstate did not hurt their city as bad as it hit Ybor, because Ybor was seperated from Tampa Heights, which during the time of the interstate creation Tampa Heights was the richest neighborhood in all of Tampa, and it was inbetween West Tampa and Ybor. A couple years after the interstate everyone moved out of Tampa Heights which caused massive economical depression between the two cities, as none of the rich people came through to shop at the shoppes in either city. West Tampa has gone through major changes since Urban Renewal, although there is major gang activity and many crimes in West Tampa. Slowly like most of the other problem districts in Tampa, it is getting better with economic renewal, construction and reinvestment in historic structures. Here is a drive up Howard Ave. (I will get one going down Armania, Habana and Albany soon) (Armania is S.B oneway and Howard is N.B oneway) To give you some idea of the type of living the Spanish had in West Tampa here are the factories and the Centro Espanol club. Ybor City: This is where Tampa got its name as the Cigar City. In the 1880's Don Vincient Ybor was in search of a new city to put his Cigar Factories, he had tried Key West, but due to his support in the Cuban revolution, Spanish troops burned down his factory, he had tried New York City, however the climate was not right for tobacco. He then visited Tampa with his friend Gavino Gutierrez. Gavino was no stranger to Tampa, he had been before insearch of the Guava. He told Don Ybor that it was an excellent climate for tobacco storage. In 1885 the Tampa Board of Trade convinced Ybor to move his factory to Tampa, they had bought the land to give to him. The reason that Ybor had Gavino with him was because, Gavino was a civil engineer. Gavino planned Ybor City and helped launch the most influential part of Tampa's History. Ybor was one of the first people to ever make a factory town in which the people were able to purchase their own homes freely, and move back and forth between their native place and Ybor City. The houses he had built for the workers were cheap and good. This is an example of the typical factory workers home, these buildings still stand today. After constructing his first factory, Ybor expanded Henry B. Plants railroad from downtown into his city, through 6th Avenue. This served as transportation for people from Ybor to Downtown and vice versa. Ybor's factory, now known as Ybor Square. Ybor City continued to grow throughout the 1900s. The diversity in the city was similar to New York, as not only Cubans, but Spaniards from Valencia and Asturiano, Italians from Sicily, Germans, and Jewish People. Each group generally did its own business, The Germans were craftsmen, the Jewish people were salesmen, the Spanish people, Italians, and Cubans worked and owned cigar factories. In the early 1900s, Most of the Cigar revenue was placed into the Cuban Revolution, because many of the people living in Ybor fled Cuba due to the horrible treatment to them by the Spanish, they fueled the revolution to one day come back to Cuba. Jose Marti the Cuban George Washington gave speaches in Ybor Street Corners. He was killed in action in Cuba during a raid. Unions also started to take effect on Ybor, shutting down the cigar factories several times, and nearly choking Tampa's economy. It was so bad that the Tampa Citizen Patrole in the 1900s took 14 suspected union leaders and shipped them off to Hondoras. This had solved the problem then, but the unions came back, a national and a local one. The Local one eventually died out not being able to compete with the national union, however the national union, while good natured, continued to kill the cigar industry in Ybor. A few years after the founding of Ybor City, Pino City (West Tampa) was founded for the Spanish who during the Cuban Revolution faced prejudice and hatred from the Cubans. Most of the Factories in West Tampa were owned by Spanish People. One amazing feature of Ybor City was that there was no racism. Blacks worked along side whites, and hispanics. There were no seperated bathrooms, areas or schools. Ybor's growth allowed for some of the most gorgeous architecture in all of Tampa. Here are some pictures of 7th & 8th Avenue in Ybor (The main drags) After the Cuban Revolution many of the Cubans went back to Cuba... For a few weeks and decided Tampa was much better for them and their families. As if Labor unions were not enough, the Mafia soon came to play in Ybor and Tampa Politics. This section is called Cigar City Mafia. The main player of the Cigar City Mafia was Santo Trafficante. The Trafficante's had power over Tampa for several decades. In the early years of the Mafia there was much war and lots of murdering between the Cuban Mafia, Angelo Mafia and Italian Mafia. The Angelos were led by Charlie Wall, the first mob boss of Tampa, he was brutally murdered, mafia style in 1955. Several establishments in Tampa (bars and restaurants) were either started or largerly supported by mob activity, one such was the Tropicana, and the oldest restaurant in Florida, The Columbia. Built in 1901. In the 60's the Interstate came to Florida, I-75, I-10, I-95, and I-4. The Interstates that came through Tampa I-275 and I-4, ripped apart several neighborhoods in Tampa, but none hit so hard as I-4 that seperated Ybor and caused a lot of dilipidation. Ybor due to this and the Mafia, continued to kill Ybor slowly and slowly until in the 70s something was done. The corruption that the mafia had in the Tampa Police Department had been cleaned out and the Police started to crack down, and for the most part the Mafia quieted down except for the illegal gambling of a Ybor Street game called Bolita. Crime was still bad due to the ghetto that I-4 had created, Urban Renewal destroyed more than 75% of the historical sections of Ybor, leaving mainly the main drags 7th and 8th Avenues, and the Cigar Factories, along with a few savable houses and buildings. Ybor continued to see renewal with more new buildings built in the same style as everything around it to keep things the same. Here are a few exaples of new buildings in Ybor. Urban Outfitters (Centro Ybor) McDonalds The Village at Ybor Condos New Ybor Office Building Ybor has been the major center for crime in Tampa, slowly but surely the crime is going down and Gangs have slowly been leaving Ybor for Town & Country, a suburb north west of Ybor. Thanks Spa, I haven't posted the latest render of that building but I've already taken care of that and thanks for the tutorial!! I'm going to deffinatly add that in. I went to the building I was BATing today, BoA, and I noticed some errors with my texture I created so I need to go back and re do the whole thing. There is some good from this though! I have a texture! I took a picture of one of the marble slabs, so yeah! I will have a render probably done by tonight. Thanks for your support spa, you're definatly one of my favorite batters and your comments and words of wisdom mean a lot to me!
