Not sayin' I'm back... But I'm getting reaquainted with 3dsmax for school. I miss BATing!
  2. Little Chicago, The Cigar City, are just two nicknames given to the city of Tampa. The city of Tampa has one of the most busiest ports in the U.S and one of the largest aswell. It also has some of the most diverse architecture, modern, neoclassism, moorish, latin, you name it, you could probibly find it. With this series of buildings I will be doing the sky scrapers of Downtown, Hyde Park, and Channelside, the University of Tampa, the Cigar Factories, the old Victorian/Colonial homes of Temple Terrace, Seminol Hights, Tampa Heights, Hyde Park and SoHo, the Latin Quarter restaurants and clubs and many more buildings from Tampa. Here is a list of buildings I will B.A.T or try to

I just remember how many people on a daily basis my boss had to talk to and send plans to and correspond changes to. I have a link to a video where SWAT raids a guys house kills 2 dogs infront of his kid, and all they find is a small amount of weed. I will not post it because of its graphic nature. A side affect of the prescription amphedimenes is "Loss of Apatitie" @Duke: A lot of farmers use the PLANT of Tobacco to ward off certain pests. The scent makes certain species of herbivoirs sick, and if eaten is toxic to some herbiviours as well.

  8. Legalization of cannabis

Did you know you don't need to smoke weed to get high? Did you also know Cannabis is not the only plant that gets you high like Cannabis is known for? --- edited. Let's skip the "how to get high" lesson --- Really ST? You're going to remove information on those plants, but not Tobacco information? You can go down to your gas station and buy a ton of tobacco and light all that up and hallucinate. Lol, don't you just LOVE censorship. THOSE plants I mentioned you have to be 18 to buy the harvested plant matter that gets you intoxicated. THEY are also chief ingrediants in the alternative cannabis herbs that you can buy (LEGALLY if you're 18) at a store that sells them! Since I'm not allowed to apparently name it I won't go any further.. These are all LEGAL. SO, I don't see what the big deal is, since these plants are literally the same or similar in terms of intoxicant strength. BUT THESE PLANTS DO NOT HAVE 50,000 USES LIKE CANNABIS DOES. To give a factual statistic: If you wanted to overdoes on Cannabis you would need to smoke 1500lbs in under 15 mins. A typical person who smokes moderatly will go through an OUNCE in a month. OH and btw Tobacco is so bad because its grown in radioactive soil: http://www.webspawner.com/users/radioactivetobacco/index.html "In the United States, tobacco is often fertilized with the mineral apatite, which partially starves the plant of nitrogen, to produce a more desired flavor. Apatite, however, contains radium, lead 210, and polonium 210 — which are known radioactive carcinogens." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco Not to mention the fact that TOBACCO is a natural PESTISIDE " At high doses, tobacco can become hallucingenic" (removed link) Thank you hypocracy and propaganda. www.cnbc.com/id/36201668 "Legalization will reduce crime and free up Police" Written by a former Seattle Police Chief. 9. Legalization of cannabis

Well since when you smoke Cannabis, your smoking the female flower, its the scent that the Flowers put off to let predators or cultivators to cut it down so that its seeds (if any) can be dispersed. Its an anual plant so it wants to die after its flower cycle is complete. I've had types of weed that smelled like Lemons, Blue Berries, and a few other delcious scents that weren't bad at all. http://www.drugsense.org/wodclock.htm As of 1:08 $6,290,294,500 Federal $9,655,617,249 State was spent on the War on Drugs SO FAR $40 billion per year and climbing.

If Alochol is legal because of its other uses why isn't HEMP legal which has over 50,000 known uses? Supreme court ruled that Hemp and Medical Cannabis are the same, even though Hemp was bread for fiber content and contains negligable THC. http://www.naihc.org/hemp_information/hemp_facts.html Just remeber in 1916 the US Gov't predicted we wouldn't need to cut down trees to make paper. " In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Plans were in the works to implement such programs; Department of Agriculture " Or How about the USDA video "HEMP FOR VICTORY" from the 1940's Who do you think funded the anti-cannabis campaign? William Rudolph Hearst who owned a lot of forests was the largest contributer to the cause. Don't forget the DuPont company who made synthetic alternatives to cannabis such as NYLON and their adhesives. Sheman Williams protested the Marijuana tax of 37 because all of their paints used Hemp " Quality paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935; Sherman Williams Paint Co. testimony before Congress against the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act. " HOW ABOUT THE RACISM? "There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana usage. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others" "...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races." "Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men." -Harry J Anslinger all said before congress. The Marihuana Tax was a way to jail people. You needed the stamp to grow, but you also needed the plant to get the stamp. If you didn't have the stamp you were arrested. So if you went to pay the tax, you were arrested. http://www.marijuana-tax-stamps.com/samuel-r-caldwell.html Again, this is the first time "Marijuana' was used in US, Marijuana was an obscure mexican slang word. Potiguaya is the word for Cannabis Leaf... its where "Pot" comes from.

My point is, whether its right or wrong, its in the governments best interests to have a nation thats not stoned. Unless your a musician, in which case you are definetely more productive with weed lol. Pineapple Express-Best weed movie ever? quote> I smoke weed every day, before I go to class, and before I take tests. It helps me think clearly, it makes me more motivated to do things. I am VERY productive. I'm unproductive when I don't smoke! I have a tendancy to get bogged down by how much there is to do, when I smoke I take things one step at a time. My GPA has actually gone up since I started smoking weed. Weed affects everyone differently. Alcohol is legal and we have a nation of alcoholics, should we make alochol illegal to stop alcoholism? Wording like that makes it seem like the whole country are alcoholics... 15 million are. Alcohol is legal and not everyone uses it. I personally don't drink alcohol that often. Maybe once a month... And I'm 21. To me alcohol is more damaging and obviously not good for you. I've woken up many a times wishing I never drank in the first place. Never have I ever said "man I smoked way too much" Weed also relieves my extreme miagrains that NO other pain killer seems to qwell. My miagrains which also come with extreme nausea come from a jaw injury I had in high school, which I'm just now starting treatment for. You might want to check out some statistics in Amsterdam and Portugul on what happaned when they legalized/decrimilinzed Or how about the shear fact that the US Governement created a black market for criminals to make huge profits. I read somwhere that 15/100 of the wealthiest people in the world are Drug Cartels in Mexico. Don't you think its time to take the market out of the hands of criminals? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/worldnews/7506688/Mexico-drug-wars-graphic-pictures-illustrating-Mexican-gang-violence.html EDIT: Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Licoln both smoked weed and they obviously were productive: "Some of my finest hours have been spent on my back veranda, smoking hemp and observing as far as my eye can see." - Thomas Jefferson "Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." - Abraham Lincoln

  14. Native Hawaiian Government May Become a Reality!

Well where I grew up they had Social Clubs which were only opened to the immigrants that represented them, and they only helped those immigrants. These were private run. Things like El Centro Espanol, The German Club, El Circuolo Cubano, La Union Italiono, Centro Austrino (sp on some) They provided essentialy the same things as the Chickasaws BUT, you had to pay dues. They would provide heatlh care and aid for education. How are these any different than an autonomous Native government that collects its own taxes from its own establishments similar to how these Privately run social clubs that collected money from member dues and their own runned establishments? The only real difference is that the Chickasaw Nation was unable to provide the same help cos these orginizations all existed back in the 1880-1950's They couldn't then... Hell it was illegal to serve my dad a beer in a bar until the 70's! Its their right to decide what they do with the money that they collected for their own orginization. Besides that the nation is estimated at 20,000. Its very easy and not that expensive to provide for such a small population.
  15. Native Hawaiian Government May Become a Reality!

I'm able to afford going to school because of my Native American tribe the Chickasaws. (I'm also registered CDIB) My great grandmother was forced from Mississippi to Oklahoma to live in poverty on a reservation. My father and uncle grew up poor in Oklahoma and were fortunate enough to be superior athletes. Thats the only reason I'm able to post here today. Both were given full scholarships to Oklahoma State University. I've been so injured in my high school athletics I'm unable to do the same so my only ability to afford college is through the grants and scholarships offered. Because my Nation was granted autonomy they are now able to provide Health care, Education, and help to those who need it, and I will tell you there are a lot of them that need it.

  17. The Cigar City Project: Tampa, FL Recreation

I'd like to thank all of you for your kind words. I've been notified that my former team has been banned from the site. I have no clue why, and I have not been active in any community associated with TG since the last project I BATed. I'm a huge fan of this site, I still lurk around and give props to everyone here, and I have some dear friends here not to mention I've been a member here since 2005. Since my inactivity, I see no point to declare myself still part of a team that is banned on a site that I'm planning on BATing on again in the near future with the entrance into Digital Architecture at my new University. I hope that I am cool with all the mods, and that I am allowed to be separate from this conflict, whatever it is.
  18. Raysfan16's War on Surface Parking

Well it doesn't take a genius to know that budget restraints prevent the perfection of it, and unfortunately I believe Tampa's Light Rail will be a total failure because 1) Lack of Regional Cooperation, 2) Lack of support 3) Lack of funds 4) bad planners 5) bad politicians Tampa's proposed Light Rail is totally stupid and makes no sense whatsoever. I serisouly doubt any city will ever be able to have the funds to create a perfect mass transit system. The closest I've heard is Curitba, Brazil and they use buses with a 80% ridership. Thanks Odainsaker those are some very unique and awesome parking garages!
  19. Secrets of the urban areas

Lol its not dirty thats the limestone BoA is a perfect example of Modernist skyscrapers as it is a modern adaptaion of Mies Van Der Rohe's International Style Colonial Bank is a modernist twist to a Mies skyscraper and the Verizon building has shifting geometries. They may be plain and boring to the ordinary citizen or tourist, but if you study architecture there is a lot of significance to every skyscraper in the downtown, they each have their own theortical backing. You have no idea how bad criticism is if you aren't able to back your reasonings. Go look on AOL.com's ugliest buildings, I've studied a lot of these buildings and to me they all have architectural significance and by no means are ugly. Every building is beautiful in its own right. They rarely use the lights which really defeats the whole design, but it cosnerves energy so whatever. Let me get more specific: Bank Of America - Post Modernist/International. You can tell its inspired by Mies because: Richness of Materials (Marble), It has a 2 storey arcade with support pillars that reach the ground, and its totally of functionalist design. Verizon consists of 4 overlapping slightly shifted squares, which i can only assume was the parti. The city architect of Tampa is my theory professor lol... And my Boss diesnged the County Center (the pink building with the curve facing Kennedy/Pierce
  20. Raysfan16's War on Surface Parking

Wow that is a great picture Raysfan I appreciate that, it definitely has given me some inspiration on how to tackle the issue of a parking garage in an urban environment while promoting pedestiran friendlyness Something Tampa IS not doing with the new Channelside Parking Garage . No storefront????? ARE YOU JOKING!?!?!?! and this property is PRIME for a park. Its in between the towers of channelside and the Channelside mall. Tampa has seriously stupid, moronic, idiotic, every word in the book planners. Can you believe that the planners opose burying the eltrical lines because it costs too much money up front? Imagine how much money its gonna cost when Florida gets hit by another hurricane and they all get blown down when they coulda been safe and sound underground. My boss is on the Variance Review Board, one of my teachers is the City Architect of Tampa, and they all gripe about the mentality of builders here and the things they try to pull. In the end people in Tampa are just too cheap and everything here reflects it. Our crappy roads, the horrid planning of them, the bad neighborhoods that make no sense, the crappy public projects the list goes on. Tampa can only change if the mentality changes and I don't think it can. Too many people think Tampa is still just a small city. Funny considering its the 2nd largest metro in the state. The lack of regional cooperation is ridiculous too. All the cities are so intent in having their own identity that they are really just hurting themselves when the fact is they can work together and still have a cohesive identity as Brooklyn, Manhattan etc have. Pinellas really needs to get over itself. Every city there acts like its the prime-dona of Florida, while most of the cities in that county boast extremely high crime rates like St. Pete. Well that's the end of my rant and why I'm probably moving out of here when I graduate. I did want to be mayor of Tampa, but I don't think Tampa can ever be the city that I want it to be. In all honesty I'd rather live in Chicago, Portland, Boston, Amsterdam, Frankfurt am Main, or San Fran.
