Hey guys, I've just been looking through some of the BATs posted on this site and there's some great work here. One thing I would like to see in SC4, and I appreciate that this may be a little obscure for some people, is a particle accelerator facility, similar to CERN - maybe as some kind of science park reward for having a high citywide EQ?
I thought it might be a challenge some of the more seasoned BAT'ters would appreciate.
Most particle accelerator facilities are either linear accelerators or circular accelerators (sometimes called Synchrotrons)
I think a Synchrotron ring would be easiest to fit into the game (Some linear accelerators are 1 mile+ long!)
Here's a picture:

A synchrotron ring would look something like this - I appreciate it's a low detail shot but it's the best I could find (This is a picture of the Fermilab facility)
Basically it would consist of a building or buildings (the main laboratory facility), and a large concrete circle (Synchrotrons are buried underground, because they produce large amounts of radiation), with small buildings dotted along it's circumference (These are the particle detectors.)
In the game the lot would probably be about the size of the university, possibly a little bigger, and it would only need one ring (The Fermilab site obviously has 2 but this isn't necessary.)
I guess it would offer demand cap relief for I-HT too.
As I said I appreciate it's a big undertaking, but I'd be really happy if someone could have a crack at this.
If anyone needs any info about this or more details about what a particle accelerator would look like from the air, then feel free to drop me a line at cossieslayer(at)hotmail(dot)com.
Cheers!
