After a very long wait, here it is! Voltaire and ace_bovenopdeberg present: Terminals & Jets pack 1 PART ONE. Not only does this pack provide you with new concourse styles, but also 2 entirely new aircraft. With the new jumbo 747s and the regional CRJs you can add variety to your airports that were dominated by maxis 707s. This is part one of the ACB-VLT Terminals & Jets Series 1 release. The .zip contains a .exe file that will install the content to your MyDocs\SimCity 4\Plugins directory. This part of the install contains: > 747 jetways (12 different liveries) > CRJ jetways (9 different liveries) > Models and textures from my previous packs. This means this pack can replace the older ones FAQ Q: Do these lots function as airports? A: Yes and No: Yes, they are zoned airport and appear in the airport menu. No, they do not have a capacity, jobs or commercial boost Q: Do these aircraft replace the maxis planes? A: No, the 747s and CRJ are gmax models modded as props Q: Can I use multiple liveries at the same time? A: Yes, because they are props, you can use them all at the same time Q: Can I make my own livery A: As of now, there is no 'paintkit' available to allow everyone to make 747 or CRJ-skins. Maybe one will be released in the future. Q: Some lots appear blank (No buildings). What do I do? A: short answer: Install directly into the plugins folder. Why can this help? Especially if you have installed your SimCity game to a custom directory the total of "#Directory#\SimCity 4\Plugins\Aerospace Consortium\ACB-VLT Terminals & Jets Series 1\Etc." can be too long to load properly. dependencies This is only part 1 of the ACB-VLT Terminals & Jets release. You will need part 2! The jetways require these for 'ground clutter': BSC Mega Props JES Vol01 (can be found at SC4D) BSC Mega Props SG vol 01 RMIP-2 SAE Vol 2 It is highly recommended you also download Voltaire's RMIP-2 releases that allow you to build runways and taxiways. CREDITS Created by: Voltaire ace_bovenopdeberg Thanks to: All the members of the Aerospace Consortium, in perticular: Muzz Yoman3 Xiziz for their helpfull feedback, testing and ideas ENJOY PS: I may update this file later to add some handy links or better description. When the actual file has been updated, I will post that explicitly.- 98 Comments

Hey everybody, As you may have already seen in the airport showcase thread, I've been working on some airport BAT's: walkway-, jetway- and terminal puzzle pieces. Here are some pictures of what I've accomplished so far: Pic without voltaire's textures Lot overview Large scale application (complete airport not finished yet) As soon as I finish modding these lots, I'll release them on the STEX. Also, I'm planning on making a 'bigger' set with large terminals and walkways in addition to the base pack. I'll make updates in this thread regularly and show some new pictures..... Comments and suggestions welcome! ACE [EDIT: missing image links added]

GreekMan - If you don't mind a few missing cargo-props you'll be fine without the JES mega prop pack from SC4dev.

UPDATE hey all! If finally got some BATting done: a new control tower to fit in with the new lots. Still to do is the top and (final) details. When finished it will look somewhat like this. Also, voltaire is at work perfecting the 737. Maybe some pics soon... ACE
-
hello all sorry for the lack of updates but I've been very very busy... when I have the time, I think I'll finish the cargo lots; get those done. After that, I really hope I'll have some time for new stuff ACE

hello all! I'm back and I'll be posting updates again soon. Not quite sure what to work on, but I think I'll start small with some extra small concourse pieces (skylights, curvy roof, etc). After that...maybe hangars and such... Also under development now is the 737(-700)... ACE

Time to adress the problems! sorry if this is coming a late I haven't been able to get much time on ST because of RL. I think I have the probable cause for the load failure of the models. As gt6282 spotted out, if you install to a shorter directory it can help. I myself have been experiencing problems with content buried deep in a very long directory. Especially if you have installed your simcity game to a custom directory the total of "#Directory#\Sim City 4\Plugins\Aerospace Consortium\ACB-VLT Terminals & Jets Series 1\Etc." can be too long to load properly. ACE Hope this solves all the problems BTW: I am goin going to be unavailable (vacation and stuff) for almost the entire month of august, so there will be no updates by me in this thread for some time.

First of all: thank you for all the positive comments! Some questions that need to be adressed: jayo - There is a British Airways livery (the '80s one I think). tomdapom - Yes the 747 jetways do have a different ground texture. Thankfully, there is a RMIP-2 release to match that. RMIP-2 SAE 4 includes the ramp and taxiway lots that fit in with the 747. ACE

After a very long wait, here it is! Voltaire and ace_bovenopdeberg present: Terminals & Jets pack 1 PART TWO. Not only does this pack provide you with new concourse styles, but also 2 entirely new aircraft. The .zip contains a .exe file that will install the content to your MyDocs\Simcity 4\Plugins directory. This installer contains: > style 2 concourses, terminals & Jetways > style 3 concourses & Jetways > 707 jetway staging lines When both parts of the release are installed, the total filesize will be 20 MB. FAQ Q: Do these lots function as airports? A: Yes and No: Yes, they are zoned airport and appear in the airport menu. No, they do not have a capacity, jobs or commercial boost. Q: Some lots appear blank (No buildings). What do I do? A: short answer: Install directly into the plugins folder. Why can this help? yes...release would have happened now, if the file wasn't TOO BIG (16, 4 MB). I'm going to split the file and I'll have to re-type the entire description. It is expected to hit the STEX after 19:00 GMT (or 14:00 US eastern time). ACE

UPDATE cameron1991 - the 737 is currently not being worked on, but will probably be released in a pack after this one. Other items that won't make it into this release are: > cargo terminals (next pack) > 'spider' jetways (maybe next pack) > remodeling of the old packs > misc. lots with maxis props [hangars and stuff] (maybe next pack) Now, there are pics of the newly rendered terminal and large concourse pieces: (click to enlarge) lot overview there still are a couple more models to render, including a blank terminal roof (no skylights) and release is coming nearer! Tomorrow perhaps... ACE

UPDATE yes...there is progress to show you... A parking entrance lot: (click to enlarge) (The bus is simply te demonstrate the Transit enabling) (small) cargo terminals: (click to enlarge) (click to enlarge) CarmineHilton, DFire870 - This pack is meant te replace the older one, but you can use them at the same time. I'm currently working on the icons also: ACE

beautifull regions, all! here are some pics of a region I've been working on lately.... I'm a terrible terraformer so I downloaded the map from the STEX. What you see here is the top-right of a scaled down version of cammo2003's Hobart map. However, it is not at all a recreation of an real life city. satelite view The top 2 cities are (nearly) complete, and the 2 under them are still under construction. It is my first 'off-grid' region, and it looks much better than my older griddified ones. transportation map As for the diagonal ("off-grid") airports, they're all made with the standard RMIP-2 textures/lots (downloadable from the STEX) placed to look good in region view. Nothing special. ACE

UPDATE: hey all, yes, final work is in progress, release date is set... there are, however, some more lots to look at: 2 new end-pieces (one connects to RMIPs ground walkways): (oops, ignore some misplaced walkways; mistook them for straight white lines I guess. That's what you get when you're in a hurry) Something I don't think I've mentioned before: all the new concourses have nightlights. ACE [EDIT: Fixed nightlights pic^]

ShadeSlayer - yes, the side pieces need to be moved a bit in the LE. If I have more time I'll fix the seams issue later on. bwatterud - no, improved versions of the old models will not be included. Also MML is something I have no clue how to do, and I don't plan on doing it since it would delay release even more. Plus, I'm not really crazy about MML. yoman3 - yeah, I did lighten up the textures. Again, if I have time I'll change it and re-render (takes very long). ACE

UPDATE ok, an update. the contents of the "ACB-VLT Terminals & Jets Series 1" pack will be: > Miscelaneous stuff [PIC] to replace part of SWAP (All maxis props) > Style 2 lots: - Small concourses & jetways [PIC] - Large Terminals & concourses [pics below] > Style 3 lots [PIC] > Aircraft (747s and CRJs and their jetways) > models, textures & lots from previous packs (this so this pack completely replaces my previous packs) - Ground clutter - gate staging lines - ATCTs All this stuff will be in seperate folders so you can easily delete the stuff you don't need. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- NEW STUFF --- --- --- --- --- --- --- stuff I've been working on...new jetways and finally rendered some of the terminal stuff... more pics here and here in case you're wondering: the reason the new 747-jetway textures are not is these pics is because voltaire isn't done with them yet. ACE

UDPATE yes, some progress has been made this week... > I have created most of the custom menu icons for the lots; most of the modding still to do. > new 707 jetways plus 3x1 diagonal with possibility for jetway attachment: (click to enlarge) (click to enlarge) (click to enlarge) the new 3x1 diag. piece still needs some adjusting so the CRJ and 747 can attach without problems. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- 1dera3 - My lots are functional in that they are zoned airport, but they don't have a capacity. Xiziz (SWAP) and me might get around to making some capacity lots later. ACE
-
UPDATE hey there! Got some more stuff to show you: I was experimenting with these new models: when I realised what kind of new stuff this made possible: This will allow you to create a lot more costum designs (off grid!). The only drawback is that the jetways can't connect on to them, so I'll need to make a few custom ones. About the release date...I could get my modeling/lotting and modding done in about 1-2 weeks, but I don't want to rush the wonderfull work voltaire is doing. ACE
