  1. Hey everyone, I am making an office building with a separate sub-mesh for the roof at the moment. To save tris, the roof's LoD is just a little triangle hidden inside the building, while the main mesh replaces it. The only problem is, that when zooming out, the roof switches to it's LoD earlier than the main mesh, creating a hole in the roof at a ceratin distance. I know that it is possible to change a building's LoD distance with ModTools, but does this work for sub-buildings as well?
  2. Generally I find many things useful for recreation. The most useful one is, of course, Google Maps. If there is a 3D view for the paritcular building that you are using - great. But also Street view can help you getting an idea of the scale of a building. Plus there is a measurement tool that can be overlayed over the structures to measure their exact size, sometimes down to centimeters. Another very useful function of Google Maps is the ability to add photos to certain buildings. This is mandatory for me to get pics from every angle possible, as usually, people make photos of every sh*t that's out there. My workflow then goes on with Google to search more images of the building, or websites about it (which very often contain the most useful pictures). Another avantage of it is that you learn much more about a building, such as changes, history, purpose or other useful stuff to make the asset represent the original building's impression. So if you found plans, or even pictures of a building, you can import them into your 3d modeling software. I also highly recommend making screenshots of Google Maps, they are often very useful for making your own floor plan. Photos can also be stretched to be used as plans in every advanced image editing software. In Blender (which I am using) the image can simply be dragged into the program's window and then be rescaled and such (the function is called Background Images). If you cant find any plans, dont worry. The recreation of your building will be a little harder and you probably need to correct your shapes a few times, but it is possible to estimate lenghts from taking general heights for doors or floors.
  3. Hello everyone, I make my own assets from time to time and I used the "One-Way Train Tracks" mod for a train station (that is not released yet). But since the Sunset Harbor DLC came out, the mod does not appear in my mod list ingame an neither in the Windows folder where all the mods and assets are stored. I tried resubbing plenty of times, but although it says "subscribed", the mod just isn't downloaded to my computer. That's a weird issue that I never had before. The mod however seems to work fine for all other people. Of course I contacted the mod's author BloodyPenguin in the comment section but did not get an aswer in a few weeks now. So I'm hoping to get help from you guys, since you are probably smarter than me. What could the problem be? Any thoughts are welcome and thanks in advance!
