    Ok, so funny thing, I was going to uninstall the game, and decided opening GOG via the SimCity 4 shortcut because it was close at hand. It loaded..... I've been working on computers for over 20 years, and they never cease to surprise me. Sometimes things inexplicably stop working, and also sometimes inexplicably start working. I didn't do anything that I know of, but maybe GOG updated something while my computer sat idle. I played it a while, no issues. Thanks for all the support and help, and maybe this post can help someone else in the future.

    RSC i had mentioned that I did indeed try running the program with task manager open in my response to you, Thanks to all of you I will try to just reinstall only using the stand alone copy. I'll update you after.

    Jeffryfisher... no I've only ever had the digital copy from GOG. Corina... I probably did install that version. I have only ever bought two games on GOG so probably due to Naivety. I do however know how to manage files and folders. I will also be reinstalling if rsc's advice doesn't do anything. RSC.... Nothing happens no matter where I open it from other than windows asks for permission for the app to make changes, and when I say yes nothing ever happens. I even opened it up with the task manager open, and no change ever took place. The same programs running before were the only ones running after I double clicked the exe.
  4. Hey there I am new to the forum. I have been playing SimCity 4, and found out about the NAM mod and installed it to try and make the game better. I purchased it through GOG. It is the updated version of the game. Again I have already been playing the game before I installed NAM. However, after I installed it, I could no longer open the game. The play button is now greyed out. I have Tried opening the game directly from the exe. from inside the installation folder to no avail. I tried running it in Admin mode, and tried troubleshooting compatibility as well. It seemed that the launcher had lost track of the exe. at first, but then I would be able to open it directly if this was the case. Any help would be appreciated.
