  1. SimCity Vs Cities Xl 2012

Is it too late to return my $10 off SC13 now?... If it's just SimCitySocial, I'll just get CXL12
  2. Show us your - DISASTERS

So 1 day is considered "reviving"? Duly noted, thanks RaM, I'll add my own content next time.
  3. Show us your - DISASTERS

Saw this, thought "Reminds me of Sim City". Poor Richmond. Volcanos, Hurricanes (I miss that disaster in SC4), and Godzirra.
  4. Show us Your Interchanges!

I don't know about you but I'm seeing U-turns where there are supposed to be left-turn loops. So I wasn't the only one. Yes, the North/South connection doesn't exist, it's meant to be built that way. The N Route goes directly to the airport, the S route now crosses the river using a new 4 lane road/bridge instead of the old 2 lane/ferry.
  5. Show us Your Interchanges!

That reminds me of the Pellissippi Parkway / I-40/75 Here in Knoxville. I had this one built earlier which works similarly to the one 2 miles east at I-40/75 west at Cedar Bluff Rd (if both directions were built the same anyway).
  6. Show us Your Interchanges!

Well, I toyed the 5.0, and got this: hooray for ave-4 ramps. and then I made this monster:
  7. Show us Your Interchanges!

oh yea... I built something like that.
  8. A Challenge to all you Mayors out there

If you're heavily taxing the R$'s, you're not allowing your workforce to grow, therefore the jobs aren't being taken. A store with 30 CEO's and 1 Cashier will never succeed. Turn the tables, up the R$$$ and drop the R$'s.
  9. all this time I used to think this (Link) was the Spaghetti junction. Here in Knoxville, I thought about posting the 40 275 intersection that used to be called malfunction junction. Instead, I'll use this one: LINK. It's the only area I can think of where 75 has 1 lane each direction (minus the bridge over to Canada) and both 640 East clovered entrances have short acceleration lanes.
  10. Show us Your Interchanges!

Actually it is rather common. McCarren Int. in Las Vegas has a really long tunnel and Raleigh-Durham has an underpass under a runway. Im sure there a lot more but I just took it to another level. I believe one in Nashville International does something similar: It's not the runway, but two taxiways cross over Donelson Pike
  11. Show us Your Interchanges!

    Got my right disk back.
  12. Show us Your Interchanges!

since I can't get simcity4 to start with this disk (Wrong one maybe...) disregard the terrain.
  13. Show us Your Interchanges!

I didn't think the RHW update was available yet...
  14. Show us Your Interchanges!

Feeder lanes would fix a lot of that problem: But for something really tight... drop the splitters and use a single lane. And for giggles, another CS1.8
  15. Show us Your Interchanges!

I got the demo a week ago, but it took 3 days to find. I don't know how the morality of downloading illegally a free product, but since pixelactive no longer has a clause stating redistribution is illegal on their website and I'm not stealing money from the company by getting the demo instead of the full product, I don't feel wrong about owning it.
  16. Show us Your Interchanges!

I searched for the Demo on Google and found it that way. I can't state where though since the original site is gone.
  17. Show us Your Interchanges!

Best I could do on a 10 way interchange: built this last night before even seeing you mention it. Shields added to give an understanding of how it works. Expressway heading down enters downtown across a 7 mile wide bay/river inlet. Only a few bridges span it. It's too much on the RHW (no RHW-20 yet ) And the normal 5:00PM backup leaving
  18. Show us Your Interchanges!

Be prepared to tinker with it for awhile... you can't just jump into it and start dropping and dragging roads and highways.... it not as user friendly as Sim City at all... and because its a demo.. you can't save your work... price $3,000 to $19,000 US dollars for a full working copy I jumped into it and started dragging roads and highways, but you're right. It's meant to be a professional/business software (hence the price), but it's neat none-the-less. I mean, I started with this: And then went to this: based off a junction here at home. Haven't got the hills fixed yet, I know.
  19. Show us your... roadsigns!!!

There is a Java Sign Maker on the net...granted the script appears to be out of date, it will still run for me regardless... http://www.kurumi.com/roads/signmaker/signmaker.html I've been tempted to design one similar to what he's got (with flash, not java).
  20. Show us Your Interchanges!

They built a 3 leaf version here between two interstates about 5-10 years ago that during morning rush hour becomes a 3+ mile bottleneck (I-40/75 @ I-140 Knoxville). It wouldn't be so bad if 140 didn't have an exit to the major E/W highway with two entrance ramps, the latter used as an extra lane to go E on 40, a clover from W 40 and a clover to W 40, then all thinned down to 1 lane to merge with SR162. At least they took out all the cloverleafs along I-275. They were much smaller than even Maxis's size. BTW: Who uses C and D type ramps for entrances only? Most highways I travel on have a few yards after the ramp enters a highway to allow for merging, and A & B styles don't give me that. Its the only thing about the RHW that doesn't feel realistic (that and the 1-2 car length long white dashes).
  21. Show us Your Interchanges!

Here's a monster for you. You've got two major highways multiplexed in the bottom splitting apart to head East(top) and South(right) and a seperate highway (downtown spur maybe) headed north(left). Very tight, but that's how I build em.
  22. Show us Your Interchanges!

Now I gotta find me a copy of that demo.
  23. Show us Your Interchanges!

Well, since I'm bored: I should note, I make intersections as tight as I can. I don't like a lot of wasted space. I-36 Exit 22A&B: I-436E Bypass(Left) / I-136E Downtown(Right) I-36 Exit 25A&B: SR201 Rosham Ave (Built like this: ) I-36 Exit 26A&B: Central River Pkwy I-36 Exit 30A&B: SR1 Rask Island Hwy / SR336 International Airport (There's no entrance from SR1 to SR336 save for the feeder ramp at the top via a side street)
  24. Where the streets have silly names

Originally posted by: thepokemaniac In Knoxville, Tennessee, they have Gay St in downtown...quote> Oh there's a bunch of weird named streets here in Knoxville, like Historic Preservation Drive (which actually wiped out a part of the city in the 50's...), or Ho-Ca-Ta-Ke Ln. Gay St, is actually one of the main roads through downtown, and it's in downtown Nashville as well. At least it doesn't connect to Blows Ferry Rd In my travels, I've also seen some oddballs in Jamestown (Wright Froggie Farm Rd. Worked for a bank near Shag Rag Road in Cookeville, and Tater Peeler Rd in Lebanon. One of these days, I will find Farfrompoopen Rd that's supposidly in Tennessee...
  25. Sign petition for Sim City 5

50,000 signatures wouldn't do it. I mean, be honest, is there a profit in doing such a thing? 50,000 signatures alone worth of sales wouldn't pay the developers. Spore's at 2 million in sales. If you could put 1 million signatures on that, it may be worth it. not to kill your buzz or anything, but I wouldn't design something just because 50,000 people want it.
