I hear that song played at hockey games and on the starbucks HANK commerical. -
Auckland looks interesting, although those needle towers get old after a while. Everybody is getting one.

Operation Buffalo Wing: A Blizzard of BAT
Buffalonian1 replied to Sabretooth78's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Okay, thanks for the help. I'd need a picture of the complete back of the building. (if you can also fit the roof junk in) Second I'd need a shot of each of those fancy frames (hope you understand lol) that border the building. A shot of the enterance and 1st floor (outside) would also be nice. If you can, maybe get a picture of that ally where it connects to some other building. Thats all I would need I guess, more shots would be nice but thats all thats really required for me to complete this thing. Also I am not so good on textures so any help with that would be nice. P.S. On my way home from Darien Lake went through downtown, and I always thought the Rand was a simple rectangle shape, but after viewing it from the Kensington perspective, it looks quite different from the back, you were right. JP and the defense did best at the first half (17-3) Poor manning. Did not see the greenbay scrimage I watched part of a seahawks @ forgot game , but I know the seahawks won by alot, but I thought they were alot more sloppy then Buffalo, although we weren't perfect either. Also I am starting to get bored with my CJ, so Grand Island might not be complete until next month or so. I need more outside time. I will probably gain interest agian sometime later this month. -Dan -

Date: 8/16/2005 6:27:41 PM Author: sargeantcm I noticed the 'request solicitation' for stadiums thread by Franz Ferdinand in the this forum, and decided that I would lay claim to BATing Buffalo's (well Orchard Park's) Ralph Wilson Stadium (aka Rich Stadium), home of the Buffalo Bills (the new and improved Bills by the subtraction of Drew Bledsoe!). I don't know if you watched the preseason game, but I think our defense is great this year. With the addition of JP losman we will be kicking ass. The worst we can possibly do this year is get rid of our reputation! Bills will be a big suprise to all the non-buffalonians! Our hockey team may seem trashed, but our football team will make up for it for sure. I also went up to Darien Lake today and passed by the Ralph. -
I like that train, looks great.

I discovered I forgot the ugly junk on top of the BAC, so I will have to get back to that. Because of a lack of research on the building though I am pretty much stalled. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//buffalo%20althletic%20club.JPG align=baseline> After thinking, I've decided I might take a shot at those two Key west towers (or whatever they are called.) Seems like they were overlooked. width=800 align=baseline> -

Buffalo looks cool, i should check it out. quote> Lol, we know. Unfortunatley so does albany so the economy has suffered, although the main reason is the st lawerence seaway

It looks amazing and realistic. I also like how you made an urban center surrounded by suburbs, which is then surrounded by farms. Most people have boring skyscraper CJs Madrid looks like a nice city. Btw, your english is perfect so don't worry

Birmingsfield: UK Style Industrial City Journal

Wish I could give you some suggestions or criticism, but so far all of your updates are so perfect! -
Cool onramps and I like what you did with the puzzle pieces. I also recognize Don valley, good job on remaking it. I remember I was lost on it once looking for the museum. My only suggestion would be to add more trees around the valley, unless you are waiting until the road layout is complete.

Date: 8/12/2005 9:45:32 PM Author: SC4BOY Gosh I hate to bust anyones bubble but Buffalo, nice enough as it is IS NOT the QUEEN CITY of the US. Cincinnati Ohio has been known as the Queen City for at least FIFTY YEARS prior to the electrification of Buffalo as related in the story related above. If ya wanna be an also-ran keep persuing it, but if ya wanna represent the facts you may wanna change it to the 'pseudo-Queen City journal' ..lol Oh well ya all can't be the Queen.. Well I hate to burst your bubble, but I would bet there are over 10 cities in the US, and even more around the world nicknamed Queen city. Buffalo is one of the more recognized ones, and is simply the Queen city of the Northeast. I am pretty sure Denver is called the queen city of the plains, Charlotte, Queen City of the Southeast, and the list probably goes on, so yes there are more Queen cities like it or not! Google search even brings up more results in favor of Buffalo anyway. Your facts are opinions I am afraid. Don't diss buffalo This website may interest you as well: http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6882

SimWings BAT Projects Thread
Buffalonian1 replied to The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
All of the limited airports we have at the moment in my opinion are pretty much crap, so this will be usefull. This project looks like it has a good future. Nice control tower as well, although it is a tad tall if you asked me even if it is 100 metres in real life. Good luck. -
Date: 8/10/2005 5:33:09 PM Author: sargeantcm How did you create those loopy interchanges on the QEW so realistically? -Chrisquote> Simple, I used one way roads and NAM puzzle pieces.

Glad to see you back in action. Also, if you are going to be downtown how about getting me some shots of the back and some of the windows of the athletic club, as well as possibly those overhangs below some of the windows, and the front doors, (mind as well say a full profile of the building, lol.) Would be appreciated. -Dan -

Date: 8/10/2005 3:06:54 AM Author: Rail Blazer Really like your CJ, I like what I see so far, keep it up. Definitely book marked. And not that I'm trying to correct you or anything in your own CJ, but... sorry Buffalonian1 , I couldn't help myself! It's just after reading all that stuff about buffalo you posted, I got a little sentimental and very excited! quote> No problem, even I learned something new.

I love what you do with those cliffs and all of your props. Hghways look nice too. The city seems a bit squared off where development ends and wilderness begins, but overall great job!

Update 8/10/05 Fort Erie road layout complete! https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Fort%20Erie.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Fort%20erie%20british%20people.jpg align=baseline> History of the fort At the end of the French and Indian War in 1763, all of New France was ceded to Great Britain. The British established control by occupying the French forts and constructing a line of communications along the Niagara River and Upper Great Lakes. Fort Erie was the first British fort to be constructed as part of this network. For the next 50 years, Fort Erie served as a supply depot and a port for ships transporting merchandise, troops and passengers to the Upper Great Lakes. This fort was unfinished when the United States declared war on June 18, 1812. The garrison of Fort Erie fought at the Battle of Frenchman

Highway Planning and Architecture
Buffalonian1 replied to joexcooldude's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Here in Buffalo we have this illogically planned intersection locals call skyway It smashes right into downtown and cuts it off from the waterfront. It isn't most pleasant looking from the ground, and hopefully it will be replaced soon, but on a good note it provides a beautiful drive into the city. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//downtownbuffalo2.jpg width=800 align=baseline> -
