  1. I'm not sure if this is new, but they now show Regional RCI demands behind the local demands and I did notice as I planned out the RCI that it clearly went down, meaning that there was an effect. I just haven't been able to properly utilize it. If I got a better connection online, I would be eager to find some people I trust and divide tasks up like that, but until then I have to do this solo. An idea. I have a problem where I would just get attached to a city and just sit on it. Maybe if I instead kept myself bouncing around, letting the cities get time to connect and influence each other more than I let them. Especially if I can get both Omega and the Academy up and active and a High School and University up and active in the Academy city.
  2. I attempted to change up my tactics, choosing instead to start with the mineral rich region and build out from there. It seemed to work for a time until I found myself unable to sustain the city. Demands were always sky high and I was left having to zone more residential and commercial than I wanted to. Even right over the oil, coal and ore that I wanted to pull out of the ground. Not to mention all the traffic problems. I'm going to give it another shot, try a new design with the Avenues.
  3. I haven't even been able to reach the point where plopping down a University was feasible!
  4. Roads/traffic talk

I heard that the best idea with some cities is to remove the original highway if it goes though the city and trace one out that goes around the boundary of the city, but I am finding that puts me so heavily in the hole that I have a much slower start. Any one have any advice on this?
  5. I recently got my hands on the latest Simcity and the Cities of Tomorrow expansion. I had thought that after viewing so many different videos on them, I could create what I wanted but I am finding it a lot harder than I thought. My goal was to make a region of several specialized cities that work together to reach a common goal. I'm using Trinity Point for now, trying to perfect the technique. My idea is to use the Southern city as the general/touristy city that feeds workers into the other two cities and brings in tourists in the late game. The coastal city to the East would be the Trade Hub, Acadamy Home and the place of the higher education while the mountain city to the West would be where the majority of the industry would be, thus putting it far from the reaches of the other cities. However, I am having a hard time getting started with this once I leave the first city to move into the mountain city. Everything seems too focused on independent cities rather than interconnected cities. Workers don't commute even with train, blimp and road options. I can't make enough money to keep up with the needs and eventually I just get fustrated. Any tips?
