I have a city I am working on that is a 1930s themed midewestern city. Most of my intercity blocks are 4x4 but also some 6x4. Anyhow...here is what I want to do if it's possible...and if it's been done, where I can I find what I need? Ok... what I want to do is build a 1x1 lot that overflows out 4x4 with various housing or urban aparments etc...meanwhile, I want to ZONE residential in the other 15 1x1 blocks in a 4x4 block but have no buildings acutally show up on them...just be zoned and have actual sims in them but the 1x1 with the overflow lots is what you actually see. Is that possible?

Question about ploppable housing

This is what I have so far. Also...if you happen to know where I can find anything that fits into a 1930's style city...I'd love to have it. Lot's and lots of work to do on this still. -

Oh. I didn't know that. I was under the impression that if you do it that way the Sims don't stay. -
Question about ploppable housing

Ok... I think you've got the basic idea what i am trying to do, but I'll explain it again to make sure i've explained it correctly. I will be making a 1x1 lot, that I can plop onto a 4x4 block. The 1x1 lot will have houses/appartments of my choosing and will look like a 1930's residential city block. The 1x1 block will have to actually be plopped and occupy the 1x1 space. I want to zone the rest of the 4x4 block residential, and I want sims to move in and all that....but I don't want the residential buildings to actually show up. I want my premade lot to be what shows up, while in the background the sims are actually living there, but whatever "building" they make, is just a blank, empty lot...so that my premade lot is all that you see. I realize this is a very time consuming process, but that is fine. I play the game as if I am building a model and not trying to get metrics to make money or optimize traffic...I just want it to look EXACTLY like I want it to look while having cars and trollys etc run around all over town wiht sims walking here and there and so on. -

Can anyone do a Kansas City Union Station in it's original configuration? Hard to find a good large train station with parallell tracks and not perpendicular ones.
