  1. Cities set up with one long loop.

Done. This is TERRIBLE. Drawbacks: -Bus stops get glitchy and literally stop your city. -Any bug that leads to even a single car not moving also stops your city. -many trucks/service vehicles may have to tour the entire city just to get across the street. -good luck placing a train station or anything that needs and/or creates intersections. Traffic jam nightmare right there. -the AI IQ just sucks and they don't understand the loop. Many fire trucks for example looped the city three times (skipping their destination) to get where they want. -If there's a fire, the fire truck stops the street. -Schools/Universities/Whatever cause traffic jams. So, no. This sucks. Don't do it.
  2. This topic is refreshed whenever anyone buys DRM even months after its launch if s/he DOESN'T DO THEIR RESEARCH! This topic is eternal baby
  3. 2.5M, A piece of cake.

Neither hacked nor modded? WHAAAA? You da prince of vanilla, dawg!
  4. Cities set up with one long loop.

You convinced me. Sounds awesome. I'll do it. Not a spiral though. Just a square spiral with smooth corners. I hope apple doesn't sue me for it XD (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/patent-system-fail-all-your-rectangle-with-rounded-corners-are-belong-to-apple/)
  5. City loads endlessly

My loading time is 2 minutes max. If it spends more than that, I quit the game and restart my extremely unreliable internet connection (that I'm sure is the cause of this) and reload. Works for me.
  6. Fine fine I'm a sucker I admit Lesson learned: Do not buy anything before you are sure it is good!
  7. I played the earliest city builders like Caesar, Pharaoh and Zeus. I wish there was more like that. I discovered Anno recently and played 1404 and 2070. I spent A LOT more time on 1404 it was far better than 2070. And of course sim city! So is there anything else out there that's nice and/or new (or at least not older than 10 years)?
  8. First of all, the view from the power menu says 32K Barrels a day (1000 cost 12,000 Simo's from global these days) I thought this must be wrong. It was! When I actually tried the power plant, it was burning 8.5K a day. Still a bit high don't you think? Storage of the power plant is 2K so it needs to get refilled 4 times or more everyday. Knowing that the best you'll get from a derrick on a rich deposit is like 14K a day... so whether you buy or use the unsold oil from your derricks, you are costing yourself: 8.5K X 12,000 Simo's = 102,000 Simo's a day to keep it going. Um... Hello? EA, did you even HEAR of beta?? I'm sticking to the other power plants for now...
  9. Fine... in an effort to keep positive, I'll just try to live with the problems in the game. For example: How exactly do you deal with traffic problems? I noticed that sometimes a congestion starts when an intersection with four ways that just stops cars from moving anywhere. Deleting and rebuilding the intersection greatly solves the issue, although you sacrifice all buildings around it coz this lovely game just has to take down buildings with the roads you bulldoze. Other than that, keeping a balance between the number and the place of every single intersection also seems to be working... a bit... but very tiring... What do you know about how to deal with this? Thanks. P.S. Waiting for a patch or handpicking a certain kind of region is not an answer Edit: search is not easy on this site. Found a good topic:
  10. Hey guys! Let's make a list of why this game sucks. First of all, I know I have a low number of posts and I am relatively new here, but I am still old enough to have witnessed EA from its earliest days till today. The whole issue with EA needs a post by itself if not a book so I'm gonna keep it strictly related to SimCity. I am very new to Simcity "2013" or "5" (personally I think it should've been called SimCity Online!) or whatever (one week of playtime of about 4 hours a day) which makes these kinds of problems rather serious that even an average gamer takes no time to notice things that make the game almost unplayable. I have noticed the following: Employment: The ratio between population to actual workers is extremely high. In a population of 100k, you'll have about 20k workers and some 15k unfilled jobs at best. Traffic congestion nightmare: Traffic congestions due to the highway chokepoints and stupid path finding is a nightmare. Your tourists won't come, whatever help your neighbor is sending won't either. And you won't get any resources via the roads. Oh yeah and services won't get anywhere: garbage will remain uncollected... etc. Services suck: The amount of money spent on services in relation to their effectiveness (that is non-whatsover like 15 cars chasing one criminal and ignoring 5 others) is ridiculous. You will never be in the green with a fair coverage, so much so that your only source of money in these cases will be exports and/or events. Resources are useless: Resources run out extremely fast: the only current need of mining anything is to unlock the different HQ's if they haven't been already, but after that, everyone I know simply imports raw (God knows from where) and exports finished (God knows to whom). I am 100% sure that these issues are the tip of the iceberg and I didn't even start venting about the constantly online requirement or EA starting to act like Big Brother; monitoring your software use, telling you if you don't agree, don't play. After I bought the game, and the fact that it is impossible for most of us to return the game, is not playing even an option? That wasn't me actually scouting for bugs or problems. This is me playing casually and getting pissed over things that could take a day, at best, to create a patch that fixes this stuff and make the game as fun as any other simcity used to be. Anyway guys, feel free to make this list grow. Maybe we'll get it pinned and EA will notice and if we are lucky as if we are paying customers they will give a $%&^! at some point. But from past experience I don't think they wiil. So maybe this will be mainly us venting ... And I'm definitely not buying another EA game-trap. Even if they make the next call of duty or the next star craft or even the next red alert or generals.... I AM DONE. Not only with EA, also with pre-ordering anything from anyone. About the pic: Even with this simple traffic square in the chokepoint, this should not have happened:
  11. General problems and thoughts.

I was gonna create a list like this. This is a nice list, Samuel, but most of these issues seem like the kind you can bear with for the time being, so I'm gonna create another topic with stuff that if it doesn't get fixed, this game is going bye bye.
  12. Europe Servers: Add me!

Thanks for the adds. Keep adding guys. I noticed it's a chain reaction coz once you add someone, you see their friends and so on. And about this method, Jeroen, that's definitely true. I wish there were simply an "only view unclaimed cities" option or something. Knowing EA, I think we need a DLC for that lol
  13. My origin name is the same as here: shaamaa I started playing this week, true, but I learned really fast. I don't use sandbox anymore and I'm still making millions. I'm a generous partner ready to both mentor and be mentored. I am usually on Europe East 1 and sometimes on Europe West 3. By the way, I started playing simcity since 3000 but I was never the type to interact online. Guess this is what comes with simcity 5 and I must say, it's a nice change. So expect more from me on simtropolis
