Although it may be of no interest to most people, I thought I'd still show an image referring to canals/waterways and the waterlots issues caused by RH. It's a problem, but as shown on the image it's possibly to create realistic canals/waterways using the in-game tools and the watermod. The only thing needed is patience and some soft hands while working with the levelling https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif border=0>

But to answer it anyway, I'm almost totally occupied with RL activities at the moment - and have been so for awhile! Not sure when this will chaneg though, but I hope to be able to point to some progress related to SimCity soon

Date: 10/29/2004 7:38:48 AM Author: andisart Oh wow, it's just beautiful to discover this thread and see your lovingly created city! Folks, I think this guy deserves an award!! Where's the award show? Great, simply great! B.T.W.: The tall building in the mid of the S.S. above, what is it? Is it in the game already or did you download it? The top looks like a high res building that I know from my city, but its not a skyscraper. And: Did you ever release this city and your BAT creations?quote> The building is in the game. It's from the European building set, can't remember its name though! And no, this city has never been released! A few buildings have though!

I got the idea from another lot maker who had made a tall pine tree! However, this particular tree lot is my own and hasn't been uploaded to an exchange! But the original tree lot should be available somewhere on the STEX

Date: 10/17/2004 12:49:14 AM Author: marrast Date: 10/16/2004 6:38:01 PM Author: I haven't been visiting this thread for awhile, but I'll have the turorial up and running on the new CityScape Sorry for the late reply though! quote> A new CityScape?? [:0] When? Where?? quote> This referres to the site Gothia which is to become CityScape in awhile - more info to be posted at the current Gothia Front Screen Anyway, a long time ago I removed all images within this particular thread due to file storage issues. This, however, left the entire discussion about canals & waterways kind of empty and none-saying without screens to point at. In order to restore this thread to its original state - for anyone that still might be interested in it - I've re-uploaded all images, including tutorials, again! This referres to all pages, from page 1 and so on! Please accept my apologies for not getting around doing this earlier! On another note, re-uploading all stuff made me realize the early stages the city of Olympia was in when this entire canal & waterways discussion was on its top! To say the least a lot has happened since then - in particular with Olympia itself, becoming a European stylished city which was the inital task! The problem back then was the lack of European buildings Well, for those interested; enjoy the restored Canal & Waterways topic!

Date:5/31/2004 2:16:40 PM Author:Low Light @SAC. I must say i have alot of respect for your gift (mainly of paitence I think) for Sim City 4. You're a credit to the community. But I guess you will still be compiling that list of sources so as to give credit where credit is due, especially to our extremely talented Japanese friends. quote> Of course, but that has nothing to do with the source list itself. The intention is to acknowledge original creators of not only BAT items but also props, textures and so on, directly next to each showcase image. I have gotten around to do it on some images I think, although I assume most of it will be updated shortly with the CS approach! It's a time consuming project so that's why it has been delayed - that too Am I the only one finding days to be too short? -

Date:5/31/2004 11:12:13 AM Author:Alkaola armandeus you rAMAZING@!!!!! SAC tell us why you did never told us about these BATs I've see them in olympia And we where talking about a BAT list We all wanded 'your' beautiful BAT creations But never saw a list And those BAT buildings aren't yoursare they? Think you lost your right of speak in this casequote> Be very careful with what you write or what you say. The lots visible in Olympia have never been addressed to as anything but downloaded from various online sources. It's several months since I visited some of these sites, although I never stepped into this SimForce site - or at least not it's frontpage, and when I received some inquires about where to download lots visible in Olympia I also promised to provide you with a list. I agree it has been delayed, mainly because I still have about 15-20% of the lots original locations not yet found - and I wanted to post a complete list to avoid furter posts, e-mails or PM's about download locations - but also because I've been occupied with lots of other things. And as far as this concerns I'm also delayed with several other things - which I often receive e-mails about from SimCity users world wide, so no, these BAT/Lot links haven't been one of the most important on my to do list! Anyway, now that at least the Japanese lots have been found, no one could be happier than I, and I can get rid of that list of mine since it's no longer needed. At least one less thing to worry about! -

Date: 5/15/2004 8:36:37 PM Author: This is fantastic Gizmo! Great work! I think what SAC was saying though, was that having the transparent water mod on its own would be good, ie without the plants. I too have sometimes thought it would be useful to be able to see the bottom of the rivers and oceans. Anyway thanks for all the hard work, this is a great mod! I've been hoping for one like this for a while. Thanksquote> That's my point, yes! Numerous times I've had to terraform the bottom of the ocean and the river in order to be able to place subways properly, and the same procedure is required when placing piers if you want a smooth transition between surface and underwater. All of this has to be done working in the dark, and the only way to actually view what the result looks like is to select the waterpipe tool or the subway tool. Your MOD gizmo have certainly solved this issue in the best of ways, and I thank you for that. However, if I'm required to have transparent water in order to see the water flora, it'll look kind of odd. The second good news is that I can place these new plants on land as well. I'm quit happy about that too!

You know Gizmo, when I loaded my city this morning I noticed that I had transparent lakes, rivers and oceans everywhere. At first I figured I had played around with waterpipes or subways the day before and that the game somehow was stuck in some of those scenes. But as I tried everything I noticed that there wasn't a solution available. To say the least, everything looked kind of odd. I could see the bottoms of the piers, ships seemed to float in the air, well, really funny. But after awhile one gets kind of scared figuring that the game has gone corrupt and everything. Not soo funny at all! Well, I had forgot that I downloaded your water flora MOD earlier and installed it. Once I started to think about it I decided to close the game, and remove the MOD from my folder and then reload the game. So, it turns out that the transparency is all gone! Now I'd like to send you the biggest THANKS possible! And for what? Well, you have no idea how annoyed I've been about the fact that I cannot see the bottom of the ocean, rivers or lakes in the same manor as was possible in SimCity3000. This ability allowed us to work on the bottom of the ocean with the terraforming tools, making it easy to adjust the terrain to allow for realistic placemenst of subways, waterpipes, and so on. Thanks to your Water Flora MOD I can now do the same thing with SimCity 4, and you can't begin to imagine what a relief this is! However, I'm not sure if this was your intention or not. The thing is though, that having your MOD installed means that the water gets transparent. So, am I supposed to install this MOD, plant the trees available, then sign off and remove the MOD from the folder before reloading the game again - in order to get rid of the transparent water? Perhaps you could look into this and possibly add this tranparency as a single MOD for us to use whenever needed, and ensure that your Water Flora MOD can be kept installed without this amazing and anticipated side effect? But again - the BIGGEST thanks to you for this excellent tool

I'm very happy to see you back in business again Xannepan. And I'm also happy to see that you continue to focus on the actual B.A.T-creation rather than providing lots for them - which allows you to produce more of these amazing structures of yours. Since I'm running a European stylished city with my Olympia, these buildings really comes in handy. I use the LE to provide flourishing European stylished lots for them, with the w2w-principle in mind. Below is an example of the various lots I use in my city. This particular lot is also using Marrast underpass avenue - which BTW is another splendid addition; Keep up the good work

Thanks Chozo https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif> I did some changes to that Moontower lot, but it looks great. However, it will be demolished though https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/11.gif> ......and moved to another location. The area is needed for residential structures.
