So, what pop-size did you get in the beta?
rohirrimelf replied to anandus's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I just dont understand how to solve my citys problems. When crime is to high i pop down police stations and still the messages sticks. All the map is blue and swarming with police cars. And still the crime is high says my mayor house. Also in my last game i put down sport parks which have a very big radius. But no visitors come to these parks. Is this a bug? I dont get my citys above 15k residents. Ive got mayor problems with my land values while they are all in the green. Dont understand how this can be. Am i missing something mayor to increase my city pop. -
SimCity 2013 Beta: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
rohirrimelf replied to lopes8070's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I dont agree with most of the negative comments. As stated above u can choose what density your residents/commerce building/zones will be by choosing the correct road. There are more mass transit options than just busses and trains. Like airports, docks, trams. You can have schoolbusses, city busses and also busses which travel to other citys to bring in tourists. And im sure there will be underground metro`s and such later on in dlc/mods/expansions. Dont forget this a vanilla simcity game. And this beta doesnt have most of the transportation options, roads, specializations, parks, etc etc unlocked. + it only has 1 hour of playtime and without multipayer or multiple citys, challenges etc etc. Like with most games that succeed a prior version of the series things will be added later on. Like civilization 4 was more limited than civilization 3 and same as civ 5 to civ 4. This is nothing special for this game. So please dont whine about that in this state. City sizes are ok for me. Yes they might be small in your eyes but this will make for speciallized citys. I dont think you will max out all the regions with citys that fast (4/8/16 citys). Sure you can spam all over the map in 1 hour if you want to. But this game is more than that. Density will grow. Resourses get obsolute which make you have to adapt. + i doubt that there will not be bigger citys in the future as there is a high demand for that. Personally i think this game will be a succes. I see a lot of whining from hardcore cim 4 players but this game will attract new players who would like this game just as much as you did with cimcity 4. Sure things are not as complex in vanilla but i dont think many players would care who diddnt get into all the complexity of sim4. There are more good things to tell about this game then bad. Been waiting 40 minutes now to get in. Yesterday 30 minutes wasted due to origin problems. This is not a great start. The game itself has little issues do. Besides not being able to build much. Much is unavailable.

Yes, but i think only a small amount of people go in. So origin could handle it.

waiting for origin to start downloading the demo

Sim City Beta Testers: EA has a new way to oppress your playing experience!
rohirrimelf commented on Bipin's article in News
Is there a special forum to report bugs or is it open to everyone on the web? -
I`ve just read this article on another side. Well writen and it makes me want to play the game even more. I like the idea of getting "minor great works" in your own citys like a stadion or special landmarks as the big ben. But my idea about traffic control on stadions is just building it on the edge of the map next to the highway that connects the citys together. It doent make sense to let tourists move across half or whole map and making traffing jams.

When we play the beta on januari 25-28. Is it legal to put down video`s of our let`s plays on youtube. Or will it be taken down. In other words: can we expect a big load of let`s plays on the webs to keep us occupied till launch?

Discussion about City Tile Size
rohirrimelf replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I dont know much about these things. But i think it is more likely that the maps are "small" because of the system requirements on older pcs/laptops. Smaller maps means that more people can play the game on lower systems and also lets players make difficult choices on specializing citys. I might be one of the few people who has not that much of a problem with the city sizes as they are now. But i would not mind having the option to be able to play on larger maps for people who like to do so. Delaying the release date to make this happen looks reasanable to me. But EA likes to rush games releases which is a mayor flaw from that company. It makes games that have real potential to be great be just mediocre to get some quick cash and fool costumars who are loyal to a gaming serie. Gaming series like red alert, command & conquer etc etc. Lets hope simcity will not suffer from that.- 1,284 Replies

SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
rohirrimelf replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Hi all, I have posted this question in another tread but hopefully i get an answer here. "simcity 2013 When u start with smal road and want to expand with more lanes so traffic can pass through more easely. What happens to the buildings from residents/commercial/industry etc next to it when u expand the roads. Do they get buldozered down to make place for a wider road. I`m not sure about this and would like to know when i start with an early city in beta with little cash and want to expand because of traffic jams."
