  1. Trump International Hotel and Tower

    Version 2

    12,063 Downloads

Trump International Hotel and Tower, scheduled to be completed in 2007, will stand as Chicago's fourth tallest building at 1,125 feet. This is a ploppable-only landmark on a 6x7 lot. There are no jobs or housing units associated with this landmark, if you would like to add them yourself, I hear it's a pretty simple process ** THIS IS THE UPDATED VERSION **
  2. Sears Tower Scaled

    Version 1.0

Chicago's Sears Tower scaled to the foot. Enjoy.
  3. Pritzker Pavilion

    Version 1.0

    4,432 Downloads

This is my rendition of the Frank Gehry-designed band-shell in Chicago's new Millennium Park. It is NOT intended to be an accurate representation, rather, it is MY interpretation of the space. Many liberties had to be taken to remove the structure from its natural context (in a park) and configure it for a stand-alone design. So, if your comments are something along the line of "it doesn't look like the original" or "you forgot this," please save them for yourself. The plop-cost is $250,000 and she sits on a 13x6 block (to accomodate 6x6 planners). Enjoy!
  4. Wabash Tower

    Version 1.0

    5,419 Downloads

This is a mid-rise Chicago skyscraper that I named Wabash Tower (after one of our local streets). The zip includes both landmark and growable versions (I thought we had enough ploppable C$$ buildings floating around). It sits on a 2x2 lot. Enjoy.
  5. Trump Tower Toronto

Wudup everyone? Afer two hellish months of summer-session classes, I'm finally back (and Simtrop has appeared to slow down even further since I've been gone!) At any rate, I was recently approached by a fellow simtropian (BananaRepublic) and asked if I would model Trump Tower Toronto for the stex. So, just thought I'd post some shots of my progress (it's actually quite far along). Also, I'd love if someone (Jesse, are you still alive?) could offer to do some nightlighting and packaging for the release (you know I hate that crap). Anyway, enjoy.
  6. I HATE THE BAT

It's official. I hate the BAT. As I was all set to go to render with AT&T (despite some minor issues - all caused by the BAT)... I realized that all (yes, ALL) of my lights had been turned off. Can you select them as a group and turn them back on? Nope. Did it turn all instances on when I turned just one on? Nope. It decided, at random, which ones it would turn on. So, after spending about an hour and a half turning all the stupid lights back on... I thought I was about ready to go. I figured I would do a last preview-render just to make sure nothing else screwy was going on before I let my computer gnaw on itself for a week rendering the building. Well, apparently 800 lights is just too much for the BAT to handle. I would've assumed that a 2.4G P4 with a gig of ram would be able to handle it. I was sorely mistaken. Long story short: as I am unable to even render the building at zoom 1 draft quality, I don't exactly see how I am supposed to export the thing? If anyone's got some suggestions, please PLEASE please share them. Until then, I guess we can consider the AT&T Corporate Center project dead in its tracks. Thank god I've only spent two weeks on it :\

  8. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

PDA is not dead. Both jtportland and geoff_diamond have RLS (real-life syndrome). Geoff should be back once his school ends and summer begins. JT is studying hard, I imagine, since he's pre-med. What, and architects don't study hard!!!??? Unbeknownst to most here (there are a few of you who know)... I've sort of been back for a few weeks now. Working on a bunch of projects - some new, some old. The trouble is, since Jesse (JT) is gone, I've got nobody under the PDA name to do lots and roof junk and all the other mundane **** that I can't stand. Ardecila is far too talented to waste his time working on cleaning up my stuff, so, I was left with no alternative but to play for a different team. I've been working with the fantastic guys over at NDEX on a slew of new projects that should be appearing on the STEX shortly. Everyone should be thankful that someone as wonderful as Ardie is here to represent the PDA name and keep a truly great SC4 legacy alive (albeit self-proclaimed ). I probably won't participate much in the forums, or even offer previews of what I'm working on because I've come to learn that I simply can't behave and keep my emotions in check when my work is brought into question. Thus, I've decided to employ a method that is simply a) I create a building. b) The NDEX team helps the building to make it to the STEX. c) You download the building if you like it. d) You don't complain about a lack of roof junk or nightlights or whatever the gripe-de-jour may be - simply put, if you're not pleased with my work, I'm not the one operating your mouse. Don't click the download link if my roofs are too bare for your city. All that said, I hope you enjoy what we are able to produce this summer and watch what you say about how hard an architect works Ardie... I've always got an eye, if not a voice, on the forums.

who the hell needs a social life when you've got a skyline?
  10. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

Just poking my head in to say I'm still alive and buried under a sea of studio projects At any rate... Jes... love the new buildings, especially the shorter version! Btw... the name of the building is sort of a dead giveaway... this is modeled after the first of three towers proposed for The Summit. Now gimme my $%&^! ducks!!! And, I would like to dedicate half of said ducks to ebur for mentioning Waterview Tower

Well, these reactions most certainly run the gamut! dusk: that would be tacky... if you want a building shaped like a mountain... go for it But, i don't r7... sorry you feel that way tuna... umm... no? ravens... no you're not... I love the boxy part. It's what makes the building what it is. To everyone else, what's wrong with the textures?
  12. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

Okay... it's that time again kids. I told you I was working on something crazy (at least for me), and here it is... I present you with the PDA Financial Center. The building's wild exterior creates even wilder interiors that would simply defy reason! If Frank Gehry ever designed a high-rise, it might look something like this PDA Financial... coming to a stex near you!
  13. NDEX James Morgenn Center

Nice!!! I love the basic geometry!
  14. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

Ard and Fox: thank you guys so much for your help and time... it is greatly appreciated. Anything I (we) can do to help, just let me know. We'll be sure to credit anyone who contributes in the updated file as well
  17. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

grrr!!! I really wish someone could tell me what's wrong with it! Sorry you're having so many problems with the lot
  18. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

I'm sure it would look fine in other colors dusk... but, since that bastard took two days to export (thanks to the rediculous mullion system and huge amounts of balcony-railings) I don't think I'll be tinkering with the materials any time soon I'm ready to move on anyway.
  19. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

Not trying to steal Jes's thunder (1ITC is a true masterpiece), but, here's one that I just finished exporting. Since I made such a mess of packaging the AMA Building... this one will hit the stex as soon as Jes can package it. Enjoy the sneak peek.
  20. Pritzker Pavilion

Thanks everyone. And nintendo... those aren't cables... they're huge steel-tubes that form a trellis.
  21. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

I have no idea how to fix it either Can anyone help?
  22. Boulevard Divider

    Version 1.0

This boulevard divider is intended to be used on a 6-tile block layout. It provides a nice attractive walkable area for sims between lanes of a double road. Enjoy!
  23. Harrison Tower

    Thanks everyone!
  24. Columbus Tower

    Thanks everyone!!! Enjoy!
  25. Poole, Diamond and Associates BAT Showcase

Well, I warned everyone that I had a STACK of unfinished buildings before I went back to school earlier this summer. I'm just trying to clear out some of the crap before I move on to anything else new. Jes is busy working on 1ITC, so, these might be lacking the fantastic level of detail that he's known for (everyone knows I'm the big-picture guy and he's the finisher). So... at any rate... if you don't like my roof-junk or packaging... tough... it's the best I care to do! At any rate, there's still pleanty more in the works (8 unfinished by my count)... so, we should keep 'em coming for quite a while (unless Jes begs me to stop releasing such crappy product . Enjoy!
