  1. Question and some concerns.

Have you tried running the game with your graphics card? I had the same problem with my copy not running with my nvidia graphics card GPU and it lagged as hell. But changing the Preferred graphics card in the Nvidia control panel to high-performance nvidia processor solved all of my lag issues. This suggestion was posted in the cities skylines forum but I can't find it. This solution might work for you.
  2. Great works

How long does it take to complete the great works? I've been able to start building the arcology but I've never been able to finish it. And really the only reason I don't finish it is because I don't have enough resources of some kind to complete it.
  3. Try this: Exactly what I was looking for. I found it once but I lost where it was. Thanks!
  4. I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet, but I would love some sort of a mod that creates a dirt road that only emergency services(police cars, fire trucks, etc) can drive on. Is this available or can someone do this?
  5. Basis of the Regions

Impressive work. Keep it up. Very interesting read.
  6. Offline Mode Coming Soon

Isn't that what multiplayer is for?
  7. Offline Mode Coming Soon

You won't have to have an internet connection to play Simcity. That is all. And you give up multiplayer, that's pretty much it.
  8. Offline Mode Coming Soon

I haven't read this topic long enough to see if my question is asked, but, how in depth will we be able to mod Simcity Offline? Will we be able to write out own scripts to extend Simcity? I assume we will be able to edit more numbers in Simcity Offline than we would be able to online?
  9. I am excited to see an offline mode is a possibility. With this we would not experience any server connecting issues, no server maintenance downtime and such, however I have a few concerns about this. If an offline mode will work, I highly expect it will be stripped down. Here are my reasons: 1) There are just too many agents being processed per second. I don't even think my ASUS 8G i5 core NVidia Geforce GTX 660M(Which, trust me, is 10x better than my ASUS desktop dedicated to gaming, it can run GTA IV on almost max graphics settings without framerate issues but not on my desktop) will be able to handle this processing needs. 2) If an Offline mode somehow will work, it will be stripped down. The game is bent on multiplayer. How does Maxis expect a single player offline to work when the game is built MMO-style? They're going to take away multiplayer features if they release an offline mode(of course they would actually if they were releasing an offline mode). 3) It will probably take twice as long to load the cities offline as it would be to load the cities online. Why? Maxis' computers that handle the simulation are the best computers in the world, able to handle the simulation, loading and processing for thousands of computers at a single time. How many lines of code does Simcity have? It takes about 30-50 seconds to load my cities online on my laptop. It would probably take 2 minutes - 5 minutes to load offline. There's just way to much simulation going on to have short loading times. 4) When you max out your city's space, I wonder what framerate will be like? If your city has 20 sky scrapers, cars driving on the road, nighttime, sirens, I wouldn't be surprised if your computer wouldn't be able to handle the processing power SimCity needs. Believe me, I'm excited to hear about the possibilities of an offline mode, but an offline mode had better have a lot of testing on different computers before I'll consider getting it. Maybe some computers will be able to handle Simcity, I don't know. Your thoughts? Am I wrong? Comments?
  10. I love how you're advertising for a game that has yet to be released. This game is years away from Simcity!
  11. I've been playing Simcity all weekend... Not sure what problems ya'll are having.
  12. The game is already broken so doesnt make much difference at this point. If it was broken it would be unplayable, which clearly Simcity is NOT broken.
  13. Haljackey Reviews SimCity (2013)

It's called Simcity because it's from Maxis, and it's from the same family line, it's just a new beginning!!!!!!!!!! /endrant /facepalm
  14. Beating a Dead Horse

The problem I have is that people complain over and over again. Get over it, complaining will not make something change. Maxis has been working on this game for four years; they will not change anything. If you do have something to complain with, at least politely use constructive crticism. But don't say the same thing over and over again. You've made your point now let's move on.
  15. Who would have thought...

True, but even then we still won't be able to make an actual city...just tiny unrealistic villages. It seems like CitiesXL was listening to their audience, whereas Maxis was determined to do what they wanted to do, regardless of the opinions of their audience. Why did you buy the game in the first place? Did you have no idea how big the lots were? They said same as medium tiles in SC4, that was a lie they are even smaller, and with all the empty space and zoning in this one its even worse again. So know they were not truthfull. They said the Region size is about the same size as SC4...
