Rejected #1 | Port of San Fernando

Wow! Beautiful work; if this is a rejected city, it's something of an "ugly duckling" that has transformed into a swan. -

That messy traffic-flow problem is part of the "fun," however. I like working from a small-scale, non-grid pattern to begin with, looking ahead to a time in my cities' histories when I will have to make some hard choices about road-widening, traffic-flow, and neighbourhood and heritage preservation. Sometimes, it gets a little too real as a result!

Yes, be careful of "sandbars," where the water just isn't deep enough. I've foolishly sunk my share of ferries on you-drive missions by not taking the shallows into account. I'm a fan of the ferries in the game, in spite of this!

I can't decide which of all of these great cities I want to vacation in now!

Fantastic discussion--and very inspirational pictures. -
shinkansen1, if I have the right building in mind that you refer to, that's one of prepo's magnificent creations (one of my favourite all-time artists on the STEX). Great pictures, everyone! I love the bridge--and the on/off-ramps--and that city view is gorgeous. I wish there were some way to have properly rounded streets, though, and the lots to line them.

The Capital of the World!
Kayean_Henser replied to spacenuteskimo's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Slightly off topic, but since currency has been raised, if there were to be a world capital, there would have to be a new world currency---as the whole debate over the introduction of the Euro showed, there's just too many associations with present currencies for any of them to be universally accepted (as a Canadian, for example, I'd feel very strange about using the American dollar!). Clean slate! -
Seattle, WA. (by copecope......)
Kayean_Henser replied to belfastuniguy's topic in SC4 City Journals
Great to see Seattle! All you need now is the Rock and Roll Museum near the Space Needle--and the monorail, of course!
