  1. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

Ok, I've already stated the NWM needs some improvements and I know it's a new mod and lots of things will be fixed in the next version but just to be sure you guys don't miss much I have to point out some other stuff. First off, my main problem is intersections, T-shaped to be more precise when either a NWM or Maxis network ends in a NWM network; double-tile networks' ending intersections are particularly frustrating. For instance if I have a OWR-5 then an empty tile followed by another OWR-5 in the opposite direction and if I intend to end this custom avenue in a OWR-3 then either the OWR-3 tile connecting the 5s reverts back to original maxis OWR or the 4 tiles that actually intersect revert back to maxis default intersections. Similar stuff happens with Maxis avenues or MAVEs ending in a OWR-3. I've gotten around these issues by prolonginf my Avs or OWR-5s one tile beyond the intersection, but it would be nice if it would be fixed. With OWR-3, if you have a corner and try to connect a street to it the same problem happens - a road intersection appears. Also, I tried to do an avenue with OWR-5s and a GLR in between them, but on OWR's border with the GLR sidewalks don't appear, which sort of makes it look weird since you end up having OWR, strip of grass, GLR, strip of grass, OWR. Would be awesome if we could have sidewalks on that situation. Finally, if MAVE's could be connected to those Avenue Roundabouts it would be great. Oh yeah, and smooth scaling on single tile NWM networks connecting to normal road roundabouts.
  2. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

@CIUU96 Thanks for replying so quick, as for #3, scrap that, managed to get it working with RHW. Also, I got another request for the NWM. It's currently missing Maxis Highway Transitions to, well, everything. I've worked around that by connecting OWR to the highway and it works but visually it's a bit messy, and I can only connect single tile OWRs.
  3. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

I'm fairly new to the NAM and it's additions so I may be overlooking some stuff, especially in the RHM departement as I haven't even come close to using its full potential, nevertheless I have a few suggestions: 1-more double decker options A. El-rail and monorail on avenue B. Bridges! especially for the tram on avenue but also dual bridges with a rail under the road/avenue/highway whatever, that's quite common where I live C. FLUPs Integration, e.g. I often use el-rail on road and sometimes I need to use a FLUP on that route so I always have to deviate the el rail, it'd be great if the road just went under say, for instance, an avenue, and the el rail just kept going over that avenue D. NWM compatibility? is that even possible, like a MAVE-6 with tram or even the TLAs? E. This is probably impossible, but humm, for instance a Elevated Highway running on top of an avenue, so we'd have roads intersect the avenues and then a straight section of the avenue would connect to the Highway. 2- Triple network? e.g. tram and el-rail on road? I never really felt the need for this but sometimes my El-rail lines were so close to my tram on avenues that I would have liked to merge them 3- Elevated (or sunken) Highway exits straight to a roundabout 4- Avenue cloverleafs, just to keep traffic flowing rather than always having lights or roundabouts, maybe even incorporate the NWM MAVEs? 5- Some avenue custom intersections, for example, commuters travelling in one direction would be able to turn left but commuters in the opposite direction wouldn't be able to turn right. Imagine like a viaduct that gets commuters from their lane, over the oposiong lane and onto a OWR. Also maybe do it for Highways too. 6- I only just noticed this and was going to see if anybody else had he same prob but started writing this instead so here goes, you can't use FLUP with NWM, can you? if no then make it so xD I don't think that's all but I have to sleep right now.... I'll post more later
  4. He might be talking about the MAVEs, which I can't seem to make them work as well, works fine in a straight line but messes up when I want it to turn....
  5. Favorite European Cities

Gosh so many.... Well, I'll have to say Porto, just a perfect balance of old & medievel and new & modern, and it's also not too big and not too small... really beautiful... It's one of those cities that I find beautiful but that also makes me wanna live there... Some others that I really like are: Prague, Vienne, Innsbruck (spelling?), Edinburgh, Rome, VENICE, Lucerne (switzerland, truly astonishing), Instambul, , Barcelona, Toulouse, Carcassone, etc... There is a portuguese town called Ponte de Lima which is just breath-taking, unfortunately I can't include it in a city list because the city hall refuses to upgrade it from town/village to city because it would lose it's status of oldest village in Portugal xD... but I recommend every single one of you guys to check it out! On a note, I've been to Paris a dozen times and I really don't find it nice at all, and certainly not romantic... it's just too... monotonous... and that centre around the Arc de Triomphe is just so dull... everyone says the food is great too but I didn't like it at all and I certainly didn't find it as fashion centre... I don't know, the whole city just reeks of that french arrogant attitude (don't want to insult anyone, but I often go to france and that's something I notice everytime I'm there) Guess I'm just weird... The Louvre though is amazing!
  6. Ok, coming up with a list such as this is incredibly though and will always be somewhat biased and also because "famous" is a bit vague, unless we create some sort of categories (political, economical, cultural, etc)... Also, a city can be famous for many reasons but that doesn't necessarily mean that if a city is only famous for one reason, say like LA because of Hollywood, it will be less famous than another which has many more reasons, say like Rome (Colisseum, Vatican, etc) That said, I came up with this list: 1- New York City (fairly obvious, Wall Street, NATO, UN, a million other things really) 2- London (along with NY, they've been the economical centre of the world for over a century) 3- Berlin (only 20 years ago, it still divided the world in two) 4- Paris (Culture, Fashion, Beauty, Soul, Romance, Arts, I dare you to say these words and tell me the name Paris didn't cross you're mind xD) 5- Shanghai ( an astonishing growth rate is turning it into a financial and political centre) 6- Tokyo (largest and most populated city in the world) 7- Los Angeles (Hollywood, nough said) 8- Rome (the Pope lives there...) 9- Rio de Janeiro (come on, where else on earth would you rather lay on the beach? but seriously, I reckon it's become more famous ever since Christ Redentor was chosen as a world wonder, even though I feel there were others that deserved the spot more but I'm getting off-topic xD) 10 - Jerusalem or Mecca (I'm surprised these haven't been listed more often given all their religious significance, especially Mecca. Islam is quite the religious powerhouse and every single muslim prays turned to Mecca.... I think that speaks for itself) I reserved two additional cities for a number 11th spot because I feel they deserve to be mentioned and some might say they're even more famous than any other on these lists, even if not for good reasons, they are: 11th - Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the two places where the only nuclear boms were ever detonated..... Also, I'd like to point out some other cities that could all have made it into the top 10 but just missed it because they lack a certain uhmm "big thing" which make all top 10 cities that little bit more... special... In no particular order: -Venezia * -Prague * -Instambul * -Vienne * -Amsterdam -Seoul -Hong Kong -Beijing -Capetown -Johannesburg -Brussels * -Cairo * -Mumbai -Sydney -Barcelona -Las Vegas -Chicago -Zurique * -Monte Carlo -Moscow -Delhi -Tel Aviv -Baghdad -Dubai * -Singapore -Vancouver * -Geneva -Warsaw -Athens * * I really like these cities ^^
  7. Help with snow mods

Thanks, I'll try those mods first... If I can't get it working I'll PM you.. And I never worked/lived anywhere near Cape Newenham, I don't even live in the same continent xD although I do have some relatives who live nearby, even if I don't have much contact with them, and I find the whole region very beautiful...
  8. Hi I'm new around here, I just restarted playing SC4 about a week ago and was bored about the lack of graphical diversity - always same buildings, buses, roads, etc... so I started looking for some mods... Needless to say I've already downloaded some of the most important ones like NAM and the like, however, there are some that I'm finding difficult to find, like some essential texture packs so if someone could please say what are the most important ones i'd really appreciate it... The ones I have most trouble with though, are the snow ones. I downloaded a map (Cape Newenham) and it requires a snow cap mod that I can't find... also downloaded a terrain and climate mod which also states in the readme a snow cap mod is required and provides 2 links that... don't work... (http://www.ingame.de/objectbase/index.php/?action=download&fid=92&cid=12 & https://www.simtropolis.com/modding/index.cfm?mode=details&show=320) Can anyone help me get that so-famous-yet-non-existant-snow-mod? Also I've seen people posting pics of their game and they have all 4 seasons with rain and snow falling included.. Haven't been able to find a mod like that either... Actually the only mod I CAN find is PEG's snow mod but to the best of my knowledge that one turns the whole region snow-white and that's not what I want... Would really appreciate any help here, thanks in advance...
  9. Cape Newenham AK

What other snow mods can I use that are compatible with this? flamesrock: The link you gave doesn't work anymore, can you (or anyone else) give me an alternative link? or what other snow mods can I use that are compatible with this? I'd really love to play this map, it's brilliantly designed
