Pegasus's CDK kit helps with the warehouses/seaports etc.... I use the Realistic Water Mod, and I hear the Columbus God Mod Tree Controller is good. You can also hop over to the LEX, and get some of jero's seasonal trees.

Yes, the fixes from EA will stop the crashing. Oh and like we said, take it easy on the mods. The airport mod is either RMIP or RH, RMIP is advanced. Get the RH for starters. Your mods must be place in the plugins folder, yes. As for the crashing, the patches help greatly, but don't eliminate it alltogether. Check out the "Read this first" Thread in Bugs and Tech support for info.

The Real Highways Works (I think its works) is interesting if you want to engineer highways other than the built-in ones in the game. It is another big learning curve, so I would leave it to later. Oh yeah, you really want RealHighway (RHW). That provides black textures to your highways, except this is an extremely hard thing to catch on with I have found. It is not as easy as placing a ramp. You first place your starter piece, drag your RHW 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, or 10 network, depending on the starter piece chosen, and then place a ramp that suits the RHW type you chose, then get out the RHW2 tool, drag it from the ramp stub (MIS), and then drag it to the road you want. Of course you will have to have the NAM for bridges and underpasses. But don't worry about that, the RHW (as well as SAM, and NWM) require the NAM for it to work. It also requires the NAM Essentials? as a dependency.

First of all, you should take it easy in the beggining. Custom Content can be overwhelming sometimes. I recommend getting the NAM, SAM, and NWM. That should make things more fun for awhile. Then when you are ready get the RHW, maybe Buggi's DLL, maybe a few BATs. Start out slow on custom content, otherwise when something happens you really won't know what to do, or failing that, you will just be so stumped. That's what happened to me when I went overboard with plugins when I first registered at Simtrop.

Start Menu>Control Panel. If you are using a Radeon, right click on the desktop, and then click the "Catalyst Control Center"

Go to your graphics card's control panel, look around to make sure that the graphics are set to "Application Controled". I can guarantee that the update didn't do it. The black and blue background is due to missing background files. Try googling some images, make sure they are in 128x128, seamless, and in PNG format, and put them in C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Plugins. There have to be 5 of them, named Background3D0, Background3D1, Background3D2, Background3D3, and Background3D4, each one with it's own name. Try switching the renderer from hardware to software or software to hardware under the graphics options.

There is a fully built region at SC4EVER, but the point of the game is to learn how to play, what is it that you don't get anyway?

I think the error no name bug is the thing in your funding menu where a school/hospital etc... shows up as "Error-No name", instead of the name of th ebuilding. Those are the ones that are strucken by the Slider bug. Also to basically demand that someone do it for you is a bit rude.
