  1. Upgrading to Mac OSX Lion?

Tried to play again without anything in the background, on a new city (empty), and did nothing but zoom in and out and try different game speeds. The result was freeze at 13 minutes and 40 seconds, more or less. And I'm quite sure, now that I think of it, that it probably keeps freezing at this exact time, no matter what I'm doing, with or without NAM. So really, is no one else having this issue? :S
  2. Upgrading to Mac OSX Lion?

I usually don't have anything else running in the background except maybe iTunes. I didn't put anything in the Simcity 4 Data\Plugins folder, it only contains the original background PNG's. I did change one string in Graphic Rules.sgr though, 'noPartialBackingStoreCopies' from 'true' to 'false'. Without that change the game absolutely stinks. I'll try to "play" without doing anything, making sure nothing else is running, just to see the result. Thanks anyway, Hamish!
  3. Upgrading to Mac OSX Lion?

Hello everyone! I'm running Lion on a MacBook Pro i7 and have been trying over these last few weeks to get SC4 Deluxe to work, using Aspyr's patch. I was really convinced the reason why it kept freezing every single time I played were the NAM plugins I had installed and insisted on getting to work. As you said earlier, the game just isn't the same without NAM, so I did exactly what was recommended, I took out of NAM the three troublesome plugins. Nothing happened, I kept getting the same freezing after 15 to 30 minutes. So I thought there should be some other pluging that made it malfunction. I suspected it could be the new roundabouts, since when I played in windows I used the old version ones. I replaced the roundabout files for the old ones, nothing happened again. Today I tried removing my Simcity 4 folder from Documents, letting the game create a new one, obviously without any plugins. So guess what - it froze again in 15 minutes! The readme file that came with SC4 Deluxe mentioned that it already includes two updates. Could there possibly be another? Any ideas, suggestions?
  4. I'm sorry to say this, but this really didn't work out for me. My Rush Hour still has the slowest performance I've ever seen in all the computers I've had for a few years. I'm running Vista 32x and have a nVidia GeForce 9600M GT on a Toshiba Qosmio laptop. This awful performance really frustrates me. What do you want a new computer for if you can't play your favorite game on it?
