Damnit agra, you're gonna make me abandon my current region to start one in hilly location........grrrrrr. I was hoping to stick to my region for a couple more months, but now I might start working on a new one. Oh well, not your fault. I totally know what you mean about seeing uneven roads in other people's cities too. It irks me everytime I see a nice city with ridiculous roads. I always like to conform to the terrain too though. Whereas you like to start with a terrain but then basically tear it up to make everything fit it. So your roads are slightly more angular, and neat, and perfect looking, whereas mine are just smoothed out so that in the real world you could actually drive on them. Of course, I've never tried building with such steep hills, and I'm going to have to now. Excellent work though. (I was just kidding about being angry at you)https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif>
  2. Euro Style Modern Rail Station

wow......the most beautiful rail station so far on the LEX. Excellent job.
  3. Highway Interchange Contest

You can just drag some avenue off of the end of a ground level highway, as long as you have RH.
  4. Highway Interchange Contest

I know this is late, but after I made my interchange last night, I tried and tried to get on Simtrop, but it wasn't working. I had to wait until after school today to get it up here. So here it is.

Wow, your land bridges really are quite amazing. The plaza is mindblowing. Like you, I make all of my road extremely smooth. Although, I'm even more exacting than you. I don't let my railroads get that steep. Just about all roads I make are smoothed out by hand with the mayor tools. And yes, practice is really how you learn to do it. And it's the northwest corner that gets altered by the terrain tool.
  6. Joergs Water Mod

Nice lot joerg, only I'm too lazy to take a look at them all :P
  7. Jackson Reservoir

The land looks fairly rough; the mountains don't look very realistic IMO.
  8. San Diego v1.0

Wow, that is sweet. San Diego is a beautiful place.
  9. Sim Mesa

Beautiful region, I'll d/l into my private collection for possible use ;)
  10. City of EDMONTON

Wow you gmax people are amazing, spitting out so many new buildings. And I'm sure everyone can't wait to see the progress on Edmonton
  11. AJ U

Congradulations on your first lot. Certainly it's not among the best lots, but it's good experience for an amatuer lot maker. The more lots you make, the you will learn about the tool. Experiment with new props, different textures, and you will be making amazing lots in no time. :)
  12. Suburban Highspeed Rail Stop

Adding other functions requires editing the lot file. You can either use iLive's Reader, or the probably easier method of DM's DatGen. Both are in the program mods section.
  13. Suburban Highspeed Rail Stop

hey Skycap, it's called transit network enabling your lots, try searching the forums for "network" or "transit network."
  14. Suburban Highspeed Rail Stop

Great lot, the only thing I don't think it needed was the subway, especially since it's supposed to be a suburban lot. Also, I think you could make it shorter since it has garages, (I know u want it to look realistic but it's just won't fit nicely) But, overall it's definately an awesome lot.
  15. Sim High

Sweet, i was hoping you would put this one up. Joerg, is it possible to edit the lot in the LE, or will that mess up the lot's properties?
  16. Rest Stop

very original, nice job, especially for a first lot
  17. Bridge Height Modd

Wow Joerg, you took my thoughts and put them in thread and dat form. Nice job man. I don't forsee any problem, the bridge still has to be a certain height for ferries to pass under, the only thing different is that now we're allowed to build bridges that are lower and don't let ferries pass underneath. Now I don't have to switch to freeway to build low and level avenue bridges. I've included some ss's to show how I have built bridges that allow ferry traffic and how I have dealt with building level avenue bridges. ferry-passable bridge design and sloping: what you had to do before: Hmmm....Peg, thanks for testing that, I pulled the dat out of my plugins folder until someone else checks this, I don't want to lose my ferry traffic, and I don't have time to test myself right now (school in the morning). The bug doesn't really make sense unless you need to like dezone after demolishing the low bridge to get rid of a residual effect. Hopefully it will all clear up.
  18. Pern Region

I would d/l the Traffic Cop mod program and maybe add a little bit of capacity to your roads and such. Not a really large amount, but enough to make only a few streets have traffic problems.
  19. Does this tutorial happen to include the information on making roads be drawn onto the ferry building type roads. I dont' want network functionality, I just want it to look like the roads connect on my lot. Does this explain that, or is that possible?
  20. Police Administration Building

Looks really good. You did a nice job of meshing the buildings together. Can't wait to put it in my city.
  21. Florida Beach

Personally I like the 6 large maps. Borders are a pain in the butt for me, and my computer can handle it, so I prefer as many large maps as possible.
  22. San Francisco v2.0

Your progress looks great eppisgood, keep up the good work.
  23. Remove the avenue median!!!

Center turning lanes, or, suicide lanes, are pretty common. I've seen them much more often on two lane roads, but sometimes four lane avenues have them too. Most avenues near me either have nothing in the middle or a median with breaks at busy turns. I live in a more suburban area though. It probably depends on where you live whether or not you see roads like this very much or not. When I visited Nashville, just about every two lane road had a suicide lane, which was always used by pedestrians to cross too. (of course i stayed near vanderbilt university, so it might have just been college students)
  24. RAIN!!! I made rain!

Wow, amazing find Teirusu. Good luck figuring out how to get the rain feature to function properly. I'm waiting with great anticipation for this possible mod.
  25. Eaton Grand Hotel

Awesome lot, it sort of reminds me of a hotel I saw in Hawaii.
