  1. Is the data for the origin exclusive park, the pre order/digital deluxe exclusive hero and villain buildings, and the euro buildings in a normal simcity there? Could this tool add them to the menus in a game without them? Of course this would be a fine line to be treading. The plumbob park would be the only one that might not get the modder of it that distributes it in legal trouble.
  2. Under the hood of SimCity's Traffic

Hello, I’m Alexander Harkness, and I’m a Software Engineer working in the transportation team of SimCity. I’ve primarily been working on implementing the behaviors for the vehicles, rail, boats, and helicopters during my amazing time here at Maxis. I wanted to take some time out of my usual duties to explain to you all how the traffic system works and how you can make the most of it.
  3. Legacy Soundtrack: All of the best tracks from the previous simcities.
  4. Am i a genius or not?

^ Thank you good sir! I would certainly prefer SC2013 over SC4 in vanilla.
  5. They could have at least offered the digital deluxe upgrade pack. Oh, but we'd be most likely to get that anyway and get the most out of it, so they must try to milk us out of DLC!
  6. Modding priorities

Bring up the in game menu (the one that you use to quit) to get the debug mode ui up. What is a priority? City sizes.
  7. Easy Disaster Unlock Mod

Wait a second... since this mod works by making all disaster achievements be activated by the placing of a wind farm... doesn't this mean that EA could call it cheating? :|
  8. Need 1 good mayor

What is the server? I run US West 3 typically.
  9. Epic Traffic Jam

Go download the debug mode mod and place more highways so that there are more routes to get into the city. Problem solved!
  10. Are mods like the debug mode mod allowed (it just allows for the creation of free railroads and regional highways anywhere)?
  11. low fps?

I think that the game may be a more CPU intensive game than GPU intensive. I only have 2G of ram and an nVidia GeForce 9600 but I get decent FPS on mostly medium with some low and some high settings with an Intel Core2Duo 2.67 ghz.
  12. Anyone else lost interest?

"offline patch" Well, the mod that allows you to mess around with debug mode and stuff allows you to play without an internet connection, but origin still needs to be running and the game still needs to save online.
  13. I want grid lines!

They are toggle-able. Go to your roads menu. There should be some "toggle road guides" button.
  14. I wonder how frequently it auto-saves... The game froze 20 minutes ago, haven't re-opened it yet to see what teh damage that it did was.
  15. A small little region with only one player ATM (me, Stuart1998). I've got some pretty decent cities going, could use some more people playing though. NOTE: I am using the debug/cheat mod to link all of the clusters of cities together. I think that this is working well so far... please note that only cities originally linked together will be able to send city services to each other.
  16. Hey, here's the thing: the game has issues automatically setting your graphics settings. You can probably handle quite a bit more than it thinks you can, just manually go into settings and change it.
  17. Maybe the digital deluxe upgrade pack.
  18. EA will milk simcity for all of its worth. If that means forcing you to buy simcity twice in order to use it on your good computer, they'll do that.
  19. I have MST( GMT-6), so all times are ahead by one hour over what it is for PST times. All day in school today I was looking forward to the beta today. I had parent teacher conferences today however. My mom and I left at five, and returned at around 6:45. I got the beta started up right away. All Origin downloaded, of course, was a launcher, which took about five minutes. The launcher then started downloading the main game. The first 10% took around two minutes... and the rest took about 15 minutes for 1%. At 10:00, when the beta ended, the game was stuck at 40%. This wasn't a beta. A beta is a several week long thing where people test a game for bugs. This was a four hour long sick joke where everyone spent four hours downloading the beta... and then never got to do anything else. This is what we can expect from Maxis. Nothing more.
  20. SimCity Beta "Review"

Oh yeah, we got an email 28 minutes before it started. No. I typically get about 250 kbs when downloading things. I have no idea what the dl speed was, because the launcher didn't have any built in way of seeing what the download speed was.
  21. All future EA games to feature microtransactions

As far as I see, there are 3 ways a game should be done: 1. A free demo and a $20-$60 base game with everything available if you play the game enough(leveling up). Modern example: Starcraft II. 2. A game that can be bought for a small price( $1-$10)with plenty of IAPs that are mainly to donate to the devs if you like the game. Modern example: Junk Jack(on iOS) 3. A game where you can play the game for free and advance at a medium pace where you can buy IAPs to both advance a bit faster and to use skins and other cosmetics. Modern example: League of Legends or AirMech. It's the people that put their heart and soul into the game and making it as open as possible to all that I feel the most like spending money on. I've spent over $65 on AirMech, a F2P game, because of this.
  22. New Closed Beta on Wed Feb 28

I'm in. I think it's looking for trends and user response more than their last betas were. After they saw so many people saying that there was nothing to do, they probably unlocked everything to see if we would still say that. I'm hoping that my parents, the internet, and the maxis servers will cooperate with me this time. I didn't get to complete a single city in beta one due to the servers and my dad, and I wasn't selected for beta two.
  23. So in 1 hour...

Only if they had the same set of available things. I should think that, if we had everything available to us, we'd be pre-occupied for well over 10 hours experimenting.
  24. Special NAM Team Showcase In Honour Of SC4D's 6th Birthday!

Hope it's some new U-Drive it thing!
