Hi everybody, I'm a bit late to the party, but I would like to start playing Cities: Skylines. I really liked SC4 (and SC3), and played a lot years ago, but I think at this point it's better to move on to Skylines. I am a little unsure though of what I am supposed to do. Do I need a Steam account, or do I download from Paradox Interactive and then use a launcher? Thanks in advance, and I appreciate any comments.

Had a look at the link, and it's what I was looking for. I think I'll play the game for a while before I mod anything, to get used to the vanilla stuff first. I'll download the 81-tile mod though.

Hi Kaschperl, Thanks for the response. Yes, it seems to be somewhat of a mess so I really haven't downloaded anything yet with respect to mods. In fact, I don't even know what I am supposed to download it to and where to save to activate it. (I'm used to the SC4 way where the file is downloaded and put to a folder.) Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. Yes, I'd like to start my 81-tile masterpiece so that mod is somewhat important. If there are any mods that are highly recommended due to game imbalances (like the industry doubler/quadrupler from SC4, for example, or the NAM) I'd really like to see what the options are.

Hi again, So I went ahead and bought it and I've played for a few hours. I must say I like it so far! Question: So I understand that additional tiles unlock, but only up to 9 when you reach certain milestones. I understand there's a mod to unlock 81 tiles. Is this the mod by BloodyPenguin? Just don't want to download the wrong one. There were a few it seems, but that one had 5 stars.

Thanks for the response. Ok, so I suppose that I can simply buy it directly from the Steam site then.
