  1. El Navidad

Hopefully President Arches can come and save the day! Hoping for the best!
  2. Schulmania

I'm contently wishing for a speedy recovery!
  3. How do i sitimulate hi-tech

You can also mix them with commercial zones and create a business plaza (or edge city type area) in high traffic areas. Mixing them near a busy interchange works well, just have a decent amount of parks and a good demand.
  4. Gay elephant in a polish zoo

Rush Limbaugh must be furious! (Or flamboyant!)
  5. State Department calls Texas "Foreign country"

I was born in Texas, I don't want the state to leave the Union, nor any other state for that matter!

  7. CitiesXL First Impressions talk

I have heard that Monte Cristo is trying to develop the game so it can operate smoother on older computers, have they specified on the ideal requirements to run Cities XL or is it too early to tell? Also, do you think computers with SimCity 4 installed will have difficulties with Cities XL?
  8. Airports in Cities XL?

It would be great if airports were zonable like in SC3K and SimCity 2000, I actually miss those, same thing with seaports!
  9. Single Player

Judging by what dasilva is saying, and by Dirk's commentary. Cities XL sounds like what is being advertised for online play will be available for single player. What would really sell me is the availability of landspace in the game. I'd like the idea of building several cities in a much larger space of land. The SC4 regions are great, but I'd like just a little more room to spread out my towns. I like the idea of creating a small country (or at least a state or provience of a nation) and trading internationally or with neighboring states.
  10. Miss. California

I don't think that a beauty pagent is the correct forum for political issues. Miss USA is all about who looks good in a bikini, not if we would vote them into State Senate or Congress. Although I disagree with Miss California, I respect her opinion. Perez Hilton responded inappropriately to her comment afterwards by insulting her opinion.

Now we know that there ARE Pink Elephants! They though I was crazy!
  12. Show us Your Interchanges!

All these interchanges are impressive, but they all seem to take up A LOT if space!
  13. Actually I've built a city on a medium tile with a freeway looping around the outer tiles, it resolved some of the traffic issues with commuters traveling to the neighboring cities. It also seemed to help spur development in the surrounding area (sprawl!) Not to mention adding a healthy shot of revenue into the suburban communities (the freeway was a tolled facility with traffic having to pay for entering AND exiting the highway.) But, like Erik258 said, build on an as needed basis. With highways, avenues, elevated/monorails, etc. you have to figure out where your people are going. Don't build exit ramps or stations where not many travel (unless your planning development). With dirty industry, I prefer to keep it seperate from other zones, but to make it realistic I tried to mix it in with low-wealth residental and commercial space.
  14. Piracy off East Africa

I think that if an American freighter were attacked again, I would view it as an act of war. Somalia is an anarchic wasteland where violence is spreading to the nations of the world in the form of these attacks. Though the United States is currently tied up in two large military operations already, it needs to at least collaberate with fellow countries to combat piracy and to ensure that international commerce can be safely conducted.
  15. Xbox Live to subscribers: Don't be gay

Obviously this is a very tender issue. I am an openly gay person; however, I don't feel the desire to apply my sexual orientation into my screen-name. I feel that in applying that label to ones self from the get-go, you really set yourself up for personal attacks and vulgar remarks. Microsoft could easily be omitting the use of 'Gay/Lesbian' in screen-names for that reason. I think this should extend to people reporting something that they find offensive and/or vulgar. If someone is making an inappropriate comment involving genitalia or excessive swearing, I think it's your responsibility to report the individual(s) for making those comments. If you are harassed, you have the ability to stop it. If you were being verbally harassed in a real-life situation, the police are there to protect you! Same thing in X-Box Live or here in Simtropolis, Web Admins aren't there just to be buzz-kills!
