  1. Pathfinder Freight and Repeat-A-Lot Corp.

Could you name the road Hummel Road? That would be great =D I vote no to allowing repeat-a-lot corp..... just a hunch, but I think their lots are repeated a lot. No? Just me? ah well. As for everything else, I'm clueless until the search function is back up on the STEX.
  2. Cities randomly disappearing

Thanks for your help, but sadly this did not work =[ . When I play the city, its blank. When I select import, It would not open the downloads folder. When I moved the files to another directory, those files wouldn't simply didn't show up. This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
  3. City Crashes When I open... why ?

Thats a problem with one of my cities. Did anything happen before this in that city where you bulldozed something, but the model was still there? And if so, did you replace that building with another one on the same spot? This happened to me when I put a SAM starter piece next to a building, but instead of demolishing the building to make way, it show the little animation but the building was still there. Also can happen with custom highway things, and I suspect other NAM stuff. If this doesn't sound like its happened to you, then did you install a snowmod or something and that city has mountains? If so, its a conflict in textures or something like that.
  4. Game Crashes before Region

Try running the game in Windows XP compatibility mode. Not sure how you do that in vista, or if thats the name, but the tram mod may for some odd reason not like vista. If that doesn't work, save your plugins folder, then uninstall and reinstall simcity. And if even that doesn't work, its probably an issue with hardware, like not having enough video memory. But I doubt that because it worked before this....
  5. Earlier today I was playing simcity, and everything was going smoothly, until the game suddenly crashed for no reason I could think of (and normally I can at least attribute one thing to why it crashed). When I restarted the game, two cities were completely erased, and replaced with the standard completely blank slate. Nothing is left. The city I was playing in when it crashed was NOT erased: its completely fine. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the cities erased were cities I had just played earlier. They were also the largest ones. In addition to this, they border each other, as well as the city I was playing in when it crashed, however I was not modifying the border in any way. The most unusual thing is that when I go to the simcity folder in my documents, then regions, the city .dat files are still there, and do not appear to be corrupted. Does anyone know what could've caused this? Any help is greatly appreciated! They were my best cities and I was considering making a CJ from them! Help!!!
  6. NAM: Requests

To answer legosims question, It most definitely is! Browse around the exchange and you can find some. They aren't easy to make though. My own request: I recently saw a rather odd onramp today that looks like it could be very useful. It is hard to describe though, but I will try my best. Basically, it was an on and off ramp in a shared space. Its a one sided parallel type on/off ramp. The interesting thing about it is that the on ramp goes over the off ramp with a bridge, then comes down and blends into the highway. The offramp exits before the onramp and goes underneath it, merging into an access road. From above it would look like an X. The advantage of this is it would save a lot of space, ideal for urban environments. I can't see it working for an elevated highway though. The whole thing would take up as much space as one normal onramp (or half a full one, i.e. having both an on and off ramp next to each other). Disadvantage is cost. It would be interesting to see this ingame and could be very useful and practical. You can look at it yourself (although is isn't much too look at...) on google earth. Insert these coordinates: 32 38 31.49 N 96 48 38.88 W those are not precise but very close. hope that works (copy/paste into google maps or earth) =]
  7. Thanks everyone, CTMandR: Yes I do thats a great idea! I forgot about that! The popular section will work too, but only for a few files. Releevo: Yup it sure is a pain. Although, in the few hours I have started downloading everything back, I managed to get maybe 500mb worth of downloads just from browsing around. I just can never remember the names of some of my most favorite files. SC4BOY: Yeah I can browse but it takes ages! And I don't always recognize everything. Simbourgeois: Mmm yes many of my files were from foreign websites, mostly japanese, which is a pain to navigate. How in the world can you memorize that much data? I don't have that good of a memory haha. But thank you, I will need all the luck I can get!
  8. Actually I already bought volume 2, but its scratched D=
  9. Hey everyone, I'm not sure where to post this, but I assume this is good. I have been an avid simcity player for years, and over this time I have accumulated vast quantities of custom content. My cities were enormous masterpieces that took years to make perfect. But I never thought to back them up... and recently my hard drive crashed. I have since bought a new, nicer computer (Macbook Pro, running VMware Fusion with windows XP, so no need to worry about compatibility issues), but am now faced with the monumental task of re-downloading EVERYTHING and restoring it to its former glory. I don't know where to even begin! I was wondering if there was any sort of list that had all of the main files, such as the most common dependencies, buildings, or mods, or any help at all. It will take me at the very minimum several weeks to download everything, assuming I can find it, and it would be great if there was some way to make this boring, repetitive task easier. Any suggestions?

  11. Disasters

Im surprised not many people have mentioned volcanoes. The ones in SC4 are really unrealistic. I don't want just lava, it should have earthquakes, clouds of ash, acid rain, etc. with it as well. With all those things combined, it would be awesome! The more realistic, the better. Just imagine a volcano near a crowded city erupting, it would be devastating! But the player should know where the volcano is and it would be stationary. The player would build in the areas around it at their own risk. Eruptions would be random but you could turn them off =P. To me this would be the ultimate disaster!
  12. Jon FAR-straight House D

This is great! Are there any other FAR buildings to come? And if so, will they be in the same style or will they be in more modern styles? Nothings wrong with this one, I'm just curious =]
  13. First and the last entry! New York Hours

I liked this CJ. Sure you have more than a few spelling errors but at least you don't take yourself to seriously. Far from perfect but after all, it is just a game. I liked the newspaper-y style. Makes me wonder how good it could be with more effort xD.
  14. Get your Maxis files here!

Not sure, but I beleive they are updating the site, so it has been down for a few days. I've been having the same problem. If you google simcitynation, the description is "coming soon", so I think the domain is being modifiied in some way.
  15. Get your Maxis files here!

Well it still won't work for me... I've tried IE, Firefox, and Safari and they all have the same problem. You did click the update link, not the link to the website with the other maxis files, right? Somethings wrong and I'm guessing its in my computer. Its just weird; I've never had trouble with hyperlinks before.
