  1. First of all, I would like to say thank you so much for this pack. I really enjoy all of the options and ability to customize different lights for different street types. Also, thank you for the update with the rainbow light cones fix! I have 2 questions/comments. I am at my cabin with a really slow internet connection, so I can send some pics when I get back to the city if needed. 1. When using the ploppable lights, sc seems to add another streetlight directly across from the one you plopped and usually its a different style than the one you plopped. Anyone else notice this or have any ideas to eliminate this? 2. I am using the Maxis light cones and I notice when I have lots that have several street lights close together, the cones are very very bright and wash out the lot...Does anyone else have this issue? This mod is such great quality, if it is an issue, would love to see this corrected. Thank you again for the mod and detailed readme! Gary
  2. Cities XL 2011 Verdict so far

you know, not a big fan of cities xl or cities 2011 or whatever it is called now...I think the implementation of the first round with MC was not done correctly, lots of bugs and graphical, mutli-core issues, etc...so basically you have a new company come in and re-ice the cake with different frosting. My guess there was not a lot of work done to the game...Focus would have to start showing some positive margins before a lot of work will be put into the next version. My guess is this is a take over-see if we can make some money (and if not, oh well) kind of project. I don't think it is fair to call others whiners on here about this game tho. They spent money on it and played it, so there are some concerns and that is fair. Just because you LIKE or DISLIKE the game, doesn't mean everyone agrees, and does not make people whiners. I think, for the most part, the complaints are valid ones... You can re-ice the cake as many times as you want, but the cake (the foundation) stays the same...you get what you get...welcome to business 101, slap a new name on it and get people to RE-BUY it...No thanks!
  3. hey everyone...bought a new computer this week and was able to get Simcity 4 Deluxe installed and works great. I have been playing in the London region and I transferred my cities from my previous computer to this one...only 2 of the 6 show up. I noticed there are two simcity folders in windows...one under program files (x86) and one under my documents. I have moved the files to both locations and tried to load the files in the game, with no success. Anyone else have this same probelm or have a solution? Specs Are: New Computer: Intel Core i7 &20QM (1.6 ghz) Nvidia GeForce GT240M Graphics Card, 4 gig ram, windows 7 home premium Previous Computer: cheap, crappy machine...lol...windows vista home premium. Where should I have the files so they show up on the region in the game? Thank you for your help!
  4. Future plan of CITIESXL2011

I agree with many of the other posters here...why create a "wishlist?" They are not taking the plant offer away to work more intensely on the game...they are taking it away because they are not making money...People looked to this game to be an extension or new version of Simcity, and it is not that at all. Like I said at the beginning (and everyone yelled at me), this game is headed for the $5 bin at Walmart...While the intentions were good at MC, they didn't come through...we are looking for a true city builder game, not avatars and pay for content stuff...let's face it, the game is a flop.
  5. Biggest Failure of CXL?

You know, I asked some questions about CXL before all the demos and I got a lot of nasty, rude responses from people here. Now that I have played the demo, ha...the laughs on you. CXL SUCKS! This site was good before with the focus on SC4, but you know, I am sick and tired of hearing about CXL. The graphics are ok. I don't like the online mode. I don't like the idea of buying planet subscriptions or whatever the hell they call it...no updates...the whole planet concept is a good one, but not thought out well. I don't care about having an avater or an email box to check on cxl site or any of that crap. I think they really, really missed the boat on this one. They got everyone sucked in with flashy graphics and videos and the game is very disappointing. Its Simcities Societes, but an online version. So I go back to my original comment...here's another one for the $5 bin at Walmart. And it's disappointing that this site has lost its SC4 focus and moved to CXL.
  6. Cities XL...Scared

Thanks for having the last word, aking. I can only hope that someday I am as smart as you are. IT'S A VIDEO GAME. LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE.
  7. Cities XL...Scared

No one said you were stupid, just asking some questions on the plan. Thank you for your hard work, btw.
  8. Cities XL...Scared

Holy cow...talk about blown way out of proportion...First of all, I do not download illegal software, I have the money to purchase what I want and pay for the online version, if I so desire. So, lets not talk about how rude my comments are, look in the mirror. Secondly, this is only my humble opinion. I don't really care what language it comes in. If they don't make an English version, then my money and probably a lot of others' money is not worth it to them. The point I was trying to make was about a business move. They have talked about the game NON-STOP on this site and others, provided screenshots, etc...and then they release the game but not in English? Why is their website in English? Maybe it should be in French, since they are a French company? I am not an ignorant American, as stated in this thread. I can be rude, so I won't deny that. Toxic, I am not expecting anyone to bend at my every call. So your comment is off base, and lets try rude. Frankly, I don't care if the French own the company, the British, Barack Obama owns, who cares. If you are going to make something, market it to a group of people, release it to that group, thats what I was saying. If they are not planning on releasing the English version along with the other languages, the free advertising should stop and resume when they have an actual date for the English version. You guys act like this game was made by Jesus Christ. Its made by a company, that is out for itself, thats why they want you to pay a monthly fee to pay online and download content and updates. They don't really care what I think, what you think, what anyone on this site thinks, all they care about is what the sales reports will look like once the game is finally released. Call me rude or whatever you seem fit, but that's the reality of the situation.
  9. Cities XL...Scared

Ok, what if they announce the English version won't be released until 3rd Quarter 2010...
  10. Cities XL...Scared

So you two have played the game in German? How was it? Oh yea, respond back in German then, since you can do without an English version.
  11. Cities XL...Scared

I think I am just as excited as the next person for Cities XL, however, I am scared. I think a couple of missteps here from the developer have the chance of making this game a complete flop. 1. Not releasing in English first?! Now, I am not trying to be selfish to other languages out there, but lets face it...English is one of the primary languages in the world. Not releasing this game in English along with the other languages or at least providing a relase date for an English version, is a really silly move, if you ask me. This site has really hyped this game up, lots of free advertising for Cities XL, and they aren't even going to release an English version on the announed release date? 2. Paying for upgrades/online service...So yea, you can play the game solo and play online...I get it. So, they want you to purchase the game and pay a fee to play online (again, the online fees not posted in American Dollars)? Pay a fee for updates and gems for the game...? I dunno, I am a little hesitient on that one. If I am paying for something, it better be worth it. Those are a couple of my thoughts. In my opinon, without playing the game, I am worried this game is going to be in the $10 junk video game bin at Walmart very quickly. Anyone have any thoughts or something I am not understanding here? I really hope this game is fun and cool I am tired of being hyped up about it. Announce a release date (ENGLISH) and release the darn game already.
