  1. o man thanks for posting this since i upgrade to win7 i been having issues running fine my sc4 i hope this can solve my issues i have tried before the resolutions and multicore affinity to try help the slow down with out any success im heading for this and im pretty sure this can solve my problems running my sc4 like its mean to be i just have 1 question in that post you use as a example a ati videocard and i have a nvida to be exact a nvidia geforce gtx 260 and i cant find the the string of that because i cant see it in my properties windows i have looked in some other places but with out success and like you say im may quote you here but with an unmatched string, the game could potentially become unstable and be prone to crashes a lot more often than not. i dont want to ruin my game... im asking if any one can lead me a clue where i can find my correct string for my video card? as a example this are my 2 pictures reflecting what they show and is not like this 2 pictures above http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/4788/capture1l.jpg http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/1806/capture2e.jpg thanks in advace if any one can help me and also thank you @Mysteryous for posting this it bring more life for my beloved sc4 update i just do the first , the adding to the list of "Graphics Rules.sgr" my videocard like this without any better performance noticed, my only main problem is.. went i run the game under Hardware Mode and i move the screen to any side its like it jump frames a lot like if my videocard wasn't able to handle the gfx and slow down.. just that all other gfx are fine and i make this clear i test this under a SC4 DX with NO MODS in it.. and if i change the Render method to Software well the problem disappear bit then the graphics don't look to well. btw excuse my English im not a natural English typer but i try my best =\ partialRule "Fast card" -any # We run well on these cards, so up the defaults. stringMatch cardIdentity "NVidia*Geforce*" stringMatch cardIdentity "NVidia*Quadro*" stringMatch cardIdentity "ATI*9700*" stringMatch cardIdentity "ATI*8500*" stringMatch cardIdentity "NVidia*Geforce GTX 260*" stringMatch cardIdentity "Matrox*Parhelia*"
  2. i have a good pc i think ( intel core 2 duo 2.80ghz \ 3.00gb dd2 RAM \ evga nvdia 260 \ Win7-64bits ) all of my old pc games run way better but sc4 like a lot of users here are reporting it's running slow i know about pcs and there is no background processing that make my pcs slow or consume radical amount of power that lead to that i also have trying to work around some issues like the wide screen size and core compatibility but don't help -example ("C:\sim city 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -l:english -intro: off -CustomResolution:enabled -w -r1024x768x32 -CPUCount:2 i also have try putting -CPUCount:1 but don't help also (i read some where in another post that maybe that helps but don't) "the ONLY thing that help was changing the render method to Software" that makes the game run fine but some graphics don't look good so i think its the drivers for newest videocards if any one know another way to make sc4 run fine under Hardware Rendering please gives us a hint

  4. Would you be willing to give a Monte Cristo another shot?

Hello mates i know don't use to talk a lot here but this whole CXL issue bring my attention this days. talking about the question i think my answer its a "no". *and this is why and my personal reason i being seeing how the community in the past of 2 years have changed and how MC approach the community and and start asking for the opinion and so on giving us the idea that this game was going to be at last the core of the next gen CB that lastly improve SC4 a lot of people think this was the shoot.. a company at last its hearing us the sad trut is yes they hear us and take our ideas to improve theyr CL but for online play and then keeping us paying,, because the forums and custom content they know we spend alot of time playing.. and thats the shoot, they realy hear us but they want to make theyr most profitable way by making a simple and plain offline CXL for the simple and casual ussers and in the future (i think) the (*example*mass transit online for sell option) keeping making profit to force us playing online because they know we spend a lot of time managing our little pretty cities .. thats the catch.... in my opinion they are going to make the game we all want but in parts and selling us every one for cash so to resume i think MC approach the community and generate in all of us hard core gamers of CB games a hope for a real good new CB game that surpass SC4, MC realize that and its trying to make it but with a secure money flow from the community side, thats why i'm not going to spend in a game where i need to 1)buy the game and 2)keep paying monthly fees for access my real and beloved and time heating city 3)pay for custom stuff like i get free here in Simtropolis. Hey money dont fall from the trees and why? if i got all that for free HERE thanks to "Simtropolis" and with my SC4 if i want fancy graphics i play Crysis
