Anyone else lost interest?
Bobvila replied to Lakenstaken's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yeah I've lost interest too, and I also agree with that RockPaperShotgun article. After a few hours, my city is filled up, and the money is rolling in, and I don't have anything else to do other than wait around and upgrade roads. Wow if you can make money without having a single job in the region, then this isn't even a game. It's just a sandbox. -
Traffic, Fire Trucks and latest patch
Bobvila replied to Hurtz's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Do fire trucks not cross bridges? I had a building burn down across a river while the fire truck just sat in its garage. No traffic (my city is only 20k people). -
Really? I think the residential and commercial buildings look great (well except the casinos, but casinos are supposed to look cartoony). With a lot of the industrial ones though, I tend to agree.

I think isometric looks very stale in this day and age. I'm glad it's gone. I won't miss subways either. But I will miss freeways and big maps.

Discussion about City Tile Size
Bobvila replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Well, if I may join in on beating this dead horse, I never used any map besides the 4x4 map in SimCity 4, so I'm bummed about the small sizes. And I find the argument about CPU processing impossible to accept. I mean, in 2003 the large city size was sluggish on my machine, but Maxis included the option anyway. And then by about 2006, it ran fine! Also, if the engine is sluggish, find some other way to optimize it (use fewer agents per building, use a slower engine update rate, I dunno). I think trading the 4x4 option for GlassBox is a terrible trade-off.- 1,284 Replies
