  1. Trees! The city has trees!

What I meant was to convert your east-west highway from 2 parallel stretches of RHW-2 (which is what you have at the moment) to RHW-4 (like you have on your north-south highway with the interchange). Here's the difference in terms of the direction of each of the lanes:   Parallel RHW-2 <<<<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>>>> ----------------------- <<<<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>>>>   RHW-4 <<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<< ----------------------- >>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>   You can see the difference. The second arrangement is much more realistic and a lot safer than the first. Conversion will also make your smooth curve piece, as well as the T-interchange, fit in smoothly with the east-west highway.   Hope that makes sense, - Chris   (PS. Thanks for the link to the sound walls. Much appreciated :) )
  2. Trees! The city has trees!

Wow, dyas! This is impressive stuff, especially for someone new to mods! A lot of thought has clearly gone into this city tile. The attention to detail and separation of estates, as well as the way you've used sound walls to separate the highway from the rest of the world, are particularly impressive aspects of your work.   Let me suggest a few small improvements to turn this into a real masterpiece: - Replace (where practical) the sharp 45-degree avenue curves with FLEX pieces (found under the Avenue Intersections menu) - Upgrade the RHW-2 on the horizontal highway to RHW-4 (you will need to rebuild the smooth curve piece). - Instead of going straight from avenue to road, use the NWM transition pieces to go from AVE-4 to AVE-2 and then to Road. It will make the transition longer and hence more realistic (and safe!) - Turn off the grid (press G) - Turn off the UDI icons (do this through the My Sim menu) - Turn off the zots (press CTRL-X, type tastyzots, and press Enter) - Take the pictures at the same time of game year. That way the seasonal trees and farm fields will look the same, giving a smooth consistent image.   Apart from that, truly excellent work. I'll be keeping a close eye on this CJ and I look forward to seeing how it develops.   One last question - can you possibly provide a link to those retaining walls please? They look great and have a lot of potential for use in urban environments.   Regards, Chris
  3. Fused Grid

I live in Milton Keynes, and whilst the grid system here certainly is excellent, it doesn't make walking at all difficult like you suggested. The town has an extensive network of cycle paths ('redways') and little pathways providing back routes and neat little shortcuts for pedestrians which cover the entire town. You can use the Ped Mall pieces in the NAM to recreate this. And the walk to the shop for me takes 7-8 minutes, as I can make use of this redway system and these little shortcuts. That's not long - certainly not hours! Especially since my local shop is in the next estate. Regards, Chris
  4. WindowsIsle vs. AppleIsle

The i-Map has come to SC4! And what a nice map it is too. I like the blank canvas concept, I can see a variety of uses for it.
  5. Taxman Money Services

It looks exactly how I'd expect the taxman's office to look! Great job!
  6. Boules Courts -Updated-

I've heard of boules, but not boule (or are they the same thing?) I'll just leave it to my Sims to find out. Thanks for teaching me something new.
  7. Cricket, Rugby, Bowls

(clicks 5-star button) Practically perfect. (clicks download button)
  8. 3 private schools

They don't look like private schools. Try making your own buildings and it might be better.
  9. Civil Campus-Version 1

I really, really like the idea of centralised facilities, but 3 things about this: 1. Needs to be bigger so you can fit it all in, 2. The fire station comes out of the hospital! And 3. I'd like to see some variation in the cars in the car park. Fix these and you'll have a great lot.
  10. GLR to Bus Transfer Station

Nice work, both with the lot and the sentiment. It just goes to show that all they achieved 9 years ago was to make us even stronger, and because of that, they will NEVER win.
  11. Clean Coal Power Plant

Coal can be clean - because this is SC4.
  12. The Pi Apartments

Can't fault your originality - very clever idea. But could do with refinement. 3.141592654 (runs out of space on the calculator) out of 5.
  13. Paeng's Old Mine with Train Yard

Just... superb in every way. Didn't even need to think before clicking the download button.
  14. Explosion Lot

I don't find this fun or funny, but violent and, if I'm honest, morally wrong. For me it falls into the 'things you don't ever upload' category.
  15. Absolutely brilliant. The only reason I've only given this 5 stars is because I can't give it 6. Thanks a lot.
  16. Rural Garden

Of course he did. He just needs to work on it a bit more, that's all.
  17. Flatland III

Good straight edges, that's always a problem, I also like the little hills. But you've used them everywhere and that makes it look a bit fake - good try though, 3/5.
  18. Silver Hills 2 - Official Map

    Version 1.0

    57 Downloads

This is the official map for the Silver Hills 2 city-building contest, which you can find more information about here. The map consists of one medium tile (2x2km), and what you see is what you get. No trees are included, so you need to add your own. At least this provides you with the potential to customise the map. Full installation instructions are included in the Readme. Dependencies You need either SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer to install the map. When commenting, please bear in mind that this map is deliberately designed to be difficult, not realistic. Also, please don't redistribute this without permission. Have fun and enjoy, smileymk
  19. cloro plant

If it had functionality (maybe as a landmark or utility building or even ploppable industry), then I'd download. But if it's eye-candy, it's a lot of space for no purpose.
  20. O Teatro de Curitiba

English description required. It's the language of the site. Very few of us understand Portugese (though thanks to Xyloxadoria for telling us what it is).
  21. NYBT Joseph Pulitzer Fountain

Bored? How could I get bored of this? 5/5 - maybe even 6/5!
  22. Truckstop

"Costs under $5,000". What does it cost? $4,999, probably. That's way too much - the Maxis car park is $1,000, to put it into perspective.
  23. Small Trailer Park

Caravan in a shed... now that's a unique design feature.
  24. Ped Mall Center Pole Remover Mod

Love it! I've never liked that pole...
  25. Glr station (properly pathed)

I like how it's slope tolerant - that alone makes it worthy of a download. 4/5.
