The 10 Most Famous Cities In The World
lgbrave4life replied to masochist's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Actually Tokyo is not just one of Asia's biggest city but it's THE BIGGEST city in Asia and the world! But i would agree with your list. All except the until China takes over thing next to D.C. lol -
I was going to say the same thing about the Peachtree Tower in Atlanta. I would also like to see the Suntrust Tower in Atlanta too. Or the New Trump tower in Chicago. Suntrust Center in Atlanta, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, Or even some of the highrises in downtown Tampa,

How long is the longest you've had to wait for SC4 to save a city?
lgbrave4life replied to City Planner's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I use to have your same problem..it would take sometimes take 10 or 15 min. I figured out later, it was my computer that was actin up and being slow but i had that fixed and now it only takes like 30 sec. or less. It could also be that you have alot of custom content or you might have alot of downloads from the STEX in your city, but thats all i can think of. However, the problem i do have now is that when the game is loading up for me it takes a good 5 or six min. every time! Now i have no idea why that happens. -
WOW! thats all i can say right now cause i cant even begin to think of words to describe this. very realistic and just incredible. Just one question, where did you get all these trees along the river and streets/buildings? Also in the pic with the river and bridge, where did you find those sea-side walls? Again you did an amazing job!

Also on 11, I tried to click on the Config.bmp link under the note on how to make a .bmp link b/c I didn't see that link in the map window either but that link didn't work. I'm in a little bit of a rut here lol and i need some help. Thanks in advance, lgbrave4life. P.S. I don't know if it will help but just to let yall know, I am trying to download a map of Boston under the name of Boston USGS Scale. -

Originally posted by: Ntq$310 Please, North Korea could only dream of even touching the U.S, and if it did, then it would be destroyed so fast. The biggest issue here is the threat to Japan, and South Korea, which are right now two key U.S allies. It's also partly because this now gives North Korea the upper hand in talks, and what it can get in such talks. To me it seems the only solution is to just bomb there nuclear sites, and send there progress to ash.quote> i agree 100% with that. If tensions rise to a high point such as a point to the bay of pigs crisis, then thats gonna have to be what happens. Of course they'll declare that as an act of war, but seriously what are they going to do... invade the USI know they have an impressive amount of special opps an a large infantry, but if they would to declare war with the US, South Korea, Japan or even Russia, well that would be just be suicide for them. All of us have large and powerful allies(UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain ect.)They might as well turn those bombs around to them cause that would be alot easier for them than what we would do to them. Tech always reigns over infantry, especially now in days. Most of NK's tech is the same they had in the 70's or old scraps from China. The bear would love to sink its claws into NK soil. Im sure the uncle sam would love too also, but im not sure with the "anointed one" as our leader, what America would do at this point. The negative side of this is if they did launch nukes toward SK or Japan, they would probably be successful. They're in NK's back yard. I don't think Russia could shoot it down fast enough and they are right there. But just a few hours later, im sure SK & Japan's allies (hopefully us too)and most likely Russia would bear down on NK hard withno sign to an end. Most likely, nothing will happen though.

As much as the American patriot that I am, I would have to say the folowing in order for the top 10, 1. Hong Kong 2. NYC 3. Chicago 4. Singapore 5. Dubai(when finished it will be higher on my list) 6. Sydney 7. Toronto 8. Kuala Lumpar 9. Philadelphia 10. Miami(when finished) Also gotta give my hometown of Tampa some props too. If only all of Tampa's towers were 500 ft. taller. That would be impressive!

Also those small trees that are hardly unoticable, grow over time after you plant them. If also don't want just the tress that come standard with the game you can download some off the ST Exchange(STEX). Just type in trees. There will be tons of options there.

I take back what I said before. Rio has a beautiful olympic village planned. In my opinion, it looks as good as Chicago's. I don't care who wins between the two at this point, they'll both be fantastic canidate cities. Especially because they both have great waterfronts. Tokyo will always have the chance to do what I saw a few posts up in years to come. Also that reminds me, does anyone know if there is a certain amount of times a city can bid for the games or a certain amount of time frame where they can bid again if they don't get it?

I just heard on the news what happened. Well im glad we handeled this the right way. You can't negotiate with someone who either wants you dead or cares less about your existince. They just have there mind on one thing. That is money. If you give them what they want, it isn't gonna stop them. Think of it as a kid and a cookie jar.Give him a one cookie, he's gonna want more. I'm glad we put a scare into their operation. Not as much as the French and the Russians have. France has taken at least ten of these people and the Russians have captured dozens for a trial but for now they're being detained. You don't want to be captured by an angry Rusky. Look on the bright side, the captain is free and we can send the one who managed to make it that we captured down onto a little visit to Guantam...Oh wait never mind.

I was rooting for Chicago or Rio but after seeing all what they are planning on doing for Tokyo im kinda leaning towards that now.

When war then broke out in Europe in 1939, those 1940 Olympic Games for Helsinki were ultimately cancelled. Hence, Tokyo has only hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics, though Kenzo Tange's gymnasiums in Yoyogi along with the Budokan are true marvels. Ah well, Tokyo gets everything there, anyway...Osaka would be interesting for a change, especially if it could draw from the futuristic wonderlands of Osaka Expo '70 world's fair, another Tange masterpiece. I will root for Rio de Janeiro, as like others have pointed out, South America has never hosted a Summer Olympics, and with Brazil rising as a major regional and world power, the IOC can't help but take notice. The Olympics, Copacabana, and Carnivale...I'm there! Then again, a grand bash in Obamaland would be a choice way to cap out the close of any successful Obama 2-term presidency and the opening of the Hillary era, hehehe. Still, for Chicago, I want to see something with the boldness of the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. However, I suspect in the end it will really come down to who offers the most amount of upfront money and backdoor guarantees, for like any big organization, the IOC operates under CYA rules. quote> The funny part about that is that it's probably true. Especially that Hillary era comment, actually made me laugh. Not my personal favorite outcome for the future but ah well

This has been an ongoing problem for years now. I remember last year the Somali pirates overthrew some Japanese, Ukrainian, Yemenese, Russian, Saudi and dozens of other ships from around the globe - you get the point. This is actually the first time of me hearing about them overthrowing a American ship of any kind but i'm sure it has happened before. What I think is happening is this is the Somali's way of testing our new president because I don't think they would of tried to attempt doing this knowing it was an American vessel while Bush was in office. It's happening all over the globe. Countries are just seeing what Obama and his administration will actually do or not do. Just yesterday, The Chinese and the Russians hacked into our electrical grid sucessfully.

That's how I found the patches.quote> This doesn't make sense. As far as I know, and have researched, there is some work that needs to be done on each individual building. That's time consuming. quote> Well I don't know what else to tell ya, that wasn't the deal with me though. When I downloaded the 2 patches, it worked for every building all at once. I didn't have to work on or do anything to any building.

Nice job! Great work! Can't wait to see as it develops more. I also noticed that the island is kinda shaped like a mini trinidad and tobago.

Fantastic CJ. Very well organized and very poportinate looking cities. I also esspecially like the traffic lights and signs. It's so realistic, I feel like im actually driving through the city of Winchester. Can't wait for more! Also quick question, anybody know what the building is on the far left four pictures up?(the same pic. with the federal building.)

As far as I know, the 2016 games has come down to 4 cities. Obviously Chicago. The other three are Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. The other three that have been eliminated were Doha, Qatar. Baku, Azerbaijan, and finally, Prague, Czech Republic. I do hope Chicago does win because I did miss the last home games in Atlanta so it would be nice for my first Olympic games to be on my home soil.

Japan Prepares to Destroy North Korean Launch

Originally posted by: Jezus53 Originally posted by: confused04 I predict.... Nothing... status quo unchanged.quote> Agreed. If we knock that thing out the sky NK won't do anything unless Russia comes out of no where and goes, "Yeah, you know those nukes we "got rid of?" jk, we're launching them all." Only scenario I can think. All joking aside, why can't they just have Japan or US or another nation with a space program do it? If it's such a harmless satellite, then let us do it for you. Why would you want to defy a treaty and possibly start a war over a meaningless some science satellite? Something isn't right about this. quote> We can't just do it for them. Ever wonder why we never went back to the moon? Anything to do with space is extremely expensive. I'm not sure exactly how much but to launch a simple shuttle like NASA does every now and then is hundreds of millions of dollars. Maybe even billions i'm not sure but bottum line is that it's expensive. Unless that country gave us the money to do that, it would never happen. Plus they also don't want us to know what they know or don't know technology wise. But we will always have Japan and SK's back. I would also like to point out, one thing that we have and they don't is a strong AMD program. For example the "star wars" program in space. It is still very much active from the cold way days. So they can launch as many missles they want at us, we'll just shoot them down. As for Japan or SK, they will have to act VERY qickly to shoot NK's missles down. But the US will always have Japan's and SK's back. War exites me too but like Barbarossa said, probably nothin will happen. -
Man shoots 12, takes 41 hostage in New York
lgbrave4life replied to Aontan's topic in Current Events
Aparantly the man who did this had some major issues and some cruel intentions from what I just heard that was confirmed on the news. He drove his car up in front of the exit so he could trap the hostages in, preventing them from escaping. He then killed at least 13 people. One lady said that he walked right up to a woman, put a gun to her head and just shot her. After a couple of hours he then killed himself. They said he was of asian descent. Local athorities asked for a Vietnamese translator meaning either one of the hostages trying to tell them what happened were Vietnamese or the gunman himself was of Vietnamese descent. Truley a horrible, tragic, devasting day for the community of Binghamton, New York that will never be forgotten.
