Thanks for the visit - Dick
  2. Sneek peek at Hampton, another little farm town

Scribosilyn I have not been as good at detail as many of you guys, and I have always admired the care with which you add details to your journals. Glad you enjoy Hampton! Dick
  3. First, a regional shot to update you. A few shots of Hampton center with its hospital and school. Thanks for the visit - Dick
  4. Sneek peek at Hampton, another little farm town

Thank you! It has 25 cities which is about all I would realistically complete. These 80 city regions are great but I'd have to quit my job and do SC full time.
  5. Sneek peek at Hampton, another little farm town

raynev1 I think the forests are getting a little better with each tile, and I am also working on those areas that are not really forests but just overgrown. Thanks! kschmidt Interesting you should mention a seaport. I have done that in other regions, one with the Salem, OR map, and had briefly thought of doing it here. May have to re-think it! I use buses a lot in my cities, though I haven't in smaller towns. I put in some bus stops in Hampton and they are being used. tariely Thanks, I need to find more MMP's.

  8. Town of Vernon - nestled in the bend of the river

kschmidt I have done the split grading for rail crossings, just didn't for that one. To do it now would require redoing that whole section, so I probably will leave it. I try to do all rail crossings with no contact with roads to help when I start using the lines for mass transit. The avenues were part of the original road grid, before the turnpike system. They help tie in various section of the turnpikes now. I appreciate the suggestions very much, thanks. By the way, did you notice the redo on the highway with the odd interchange? I moved a section to the left as you suggested. raynev1 Thanks, happy you enjoy it. Takingyouthere Yes, I have been redoing the trees as was suggested. It really does look better. Thank you all for the interest and input!! Dick
  9. Brandon - A beautiful farming community

kschmidt I used your suggestion and moved part of the turnpike a bit to the left. Here's the result...
  10. Brandon - A beautiful farming community

Such a nice setting, but suburbia is encroaching, to the dismay of it's residents. A highway and rail line heading north out of Oakland. Thanks for the visit - Dick
  11. The completion of the Beltline Dr extension and connecting roads, opens up almost a thousand acres of land for the city's expansion. including additions to the technical school. Thanks for the visit - Dick
  12. Oakland - Progess on the North side

Offices, retail, education, and government make the North Side a vibrant and growing area. The buildings on the left house tech start up companies linked to the school next door. New quarters of the City/County government. Several companies have back office operations here. Quite a bit going on, so stay tuned. Thank for the visit - Dick

  16. Region View plus Little River Reservoir

raynev1 Pegs pond set I believe. Laying down forests is an art. Unfortunately I'm not very accomplished at it, so thank you for the kind words. Dick
  17. Region View plus Little River Reservoir

Takingyouthere Thanks, glad you like it. Dick As Scribosilyn suggested, here is the same tile with some tree variety added. Thanks - Dick
  18. Region View plus Little River Reservoir

Because the vertical drop is not very high, this is mostly a water supply for the area towns. The building is a water processing plant. I will be using the mod and substations for sure! Thank you for the content!! Dick I have been mostly intent on getting the various city tiles started. i will add some variety soon. Thanks, Dick
  19. Oakland - Some close ups and a few other shots

I'll work on a region shot. Burn out is a problem. I admire those that run a cj for years. Will do.
  20. Westwood is a town next to Oakland, with a lot of flat land. This area is prime for development. Here are a few pictures of how development has progressed at Garners Crossing in Westwood. Shopping, housing, and healthcare have given the area a decidedly urban feel. Westwood Regional High School is the area's largest. Thanks for the visit - Dick
