  1. NAM: Development

It has been long enough since we had some REAL development in here... mostly just technical and GLR stuff. There you go. It's not quite finished- there are still some texturing errors. All ramps are two-lane, because they have to handle the total volume of the incoming highway. I also chose to take the trumpet to the left because that's how they build them around here. BTW, Teirusu - you'll be interested to know that this is based off of the interchange between 355 and 55 out in Bolingbrook there.
  2. Two words: my house's addition. The construction was supposed to be finished by JUNE. They've messed everything up and we've had to redo everything at least once, and we're barely halfway done now. *groans*
  3. The error with the overlapping is due to your LOD - you need to make a custom one.
  4. New NAM Logo --- Vote Now

Buster's is awesome, but the little sans-serif bit, Network Addon Mod should be squashed vertically a little bit - right now, it looks distorted. Damn - I missed the voting period!
  5. The 14th rep are adjacent tile verifiers. You can require a particular connection type to exhibit itself on the adjacent side of the adjacent TILE. It doesn't really matter for straight tiles, but once you get into really complex connection types, they become quite useful.
  6. BSC Prop Packs and Textures.

Have any of the BSC Prop Packs included a bougainvillea (sp)? I need one for a project of mine, and I don't want to have to make one if such a prop is already available. Thanks.
  7. NDEX Announcements and Updates

Er - NJCL stands for National Junior Classical League. It's REALLY nerdy - basically, what we do is hang out, have sporting events, do spirit, and take tests and quizzes about the languages and cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome. We also have nightly dances, a talent show, and so forth. Mainly, though, we just hang out and get to experience life on a college campus for a week. (BTW, the girls there are actually pretty hot. Another plus.)
  8. Rush Hour EL Rail Supports

Believe it or not, what you want is possible with a simple texture change. From the looks of it, Maxis has not changed the El-Rail MODELS since that screenshot was taken.
  9. NDEX Announcements and Updates

*ardecila knocks on door* Lemme in, lemme in! OK, I'm back from the vacation. The first week was awesome, NJCL at the Univ. of MO, and then the second week I was in Hilton Head, SC. I'm pretty relaxed-ish now. Unfortunately, I don't tan easily. Screw you, kev!
  10. Catenary set

    Incredible job on these!
  11. NDEX Announcements and Updates

Okay - it was brought to my attention by certain members of ST that the most recent NDEX lots, i.e. the ones modded by me, were flawed in two ways: 1 - all files were united in one big DAT file, which did not allow downloaders to choose between ploppables and growables, and 2 - the capacities were exaggerated, causing the lots to mess up the balance of the game. I have updated all NDEX buildings uploaded following Greystone Church, in order to fix these problems. NDEX respectfully asks you to re-download the updated versions. Thank you. 12. Mandelbrot Island

trixin - Mandelbrot pretty much discovered fractals. So.... very cool!
  13. Andreas - I cannot get the program to display stats on the RCI lots. I've tried everything, including restarting both the program and my computer. Oddly enough, the Civic buildings show up fine, but the RCI buildings do not show up when clicked. The explorer list shows up fine, but when you select a building, the right side of the window remains blank. Is there a fix for this? Did I miss something in the thread here?
  14. Kefkas BATs

This is the building I was talking about: Lewis Towers - Loyola University Chicago It's not too similar, but in terms of height, color, size and architectural style, the two buildings come very close. Also, the store at the bottom level is also very similar to the one IRL.
  15. grow-plop help!!

The SC4Models must be in the SimCity 4/Plugins folder for the PM to recognize them. They can't even be in a subfolder of Plugins, they must be directly IN Plugins. Another stupid, pointless limitation of the Maxis tools. Unfortunately, the PM is still the best we have....
  16. The green stuff will return!

    OK - the LTEXTs have to have the same IID as their LUA message section. ------------- SC3K Headline #245/247------------ a = create_advice_fluff(34444bf4) a.mood = advice_moods.FLUFF a.priority = tuning_constants.ADVICE_PRIORITY_VERY_LOW a.title = [[text@34444cf4 Local Kindergartners Prefer Oi Brand Paste; Claim It Just Tastes Better]] a.frequency = tuning_constants.ADVICE_FREQUENCY_LOW a.timeout = 30 a.trigger = game.random_chance(.3) a.once = 0 a.persist = 1 --------------------------------------------------quote> The LTEXT file containing the string Local Kindergartners Prefer Oi Brand Paste; Claim It Just Tastes Better must have IID 34444bf4.
  17. I honestly don't like it. It looks much too curvaceous for Chicago, because here, we push the limits of rectilinear buildings, not the other way around. Not that I'm opposed to curves... But honestly, this building looks like a beachcomber's fantasy.
  18. The green stuff will return!

Yes. Well, actually, you'd have to place the messages into LTEXT files, which some versions of Reader mistakenly identify as XA or Unknown files. The format of LTEXT files is really quite simple - I believe you can compose each message as a TXT file and import them all as LTEXTs. Then all you have to do is give the LTEXTs proper IIDs. I would recommend using the Reader's .TGI system. Basically, you create a .txt.TGI file containing the proper TGI, one for each file. Then, when you import the TXTs, the Reader will automatically give them the proper TGIs in the DAT.
  19. NDEX DRK Tower by DT and EB

LOL @ mentarman! I would've done more, but the other two pending lots have issues that need to be worked out.
  20. The green stuff will return!

Well, I know a little about LUAs. First of all, is the package number set up properly? It needs to match the IID, and both the package/IID must start with 0. Also, take care to avoid using the dofile function - there are a lot of complications there, since Maxis modifed the function and its parameters.
  21. NDEX Announcements and Updates

OK, NDEX members - starting next Sunday morning, I'm going to be out of town for two weeks, between a vacation and another event that I'm going to. What I request is that, if you want a BAT released before I go away, you must send me the BAT model ASAP. I will take submissions until Thursday, and then I will try to modd and release as many as possible before Sunday. Thank you.
  22. Date: 7/24/2005 12:43:59 AM Author: Karybdis We still dont know exactly what it does, but that's the way it stores its info.quote> Shush - that's my job. Now I gotta divide, cross-reference, and otherwise analyze the hell out of this thing.
  23. The Moose Factory (virtual Bar & Grill)

No, I just do Latin, although the NJCL does have some Greek-related academic tests and such. They are not full Greek, however - just English derivatives of Greek, and then Greek culture. I believe the language of Plato and Socrates has fallen by the wayside, at least in pre-university schools.... *remembers Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure* No, I didn't know about the Harry Potter books. I don't see how they'd be useful, other than to get kids interested in Latin/Greek at a young age. I'll have to pick one up and see how much I can understand. A few years ago, I got a German version of HP1 as a birthday present. I was horribly lost...
  24. Good to see that the SFBT isn't done yet. I love the Messeturm Basel - very international-style. How is the radio telescope coming?
  25. MPM Franklin D Roosevelt Station

BTW, thanks for using my dependency?
