It's all that I did was to Google Cities XL Demo download and got a lot of hits. However, rumor (RUMOR) has it that MC asked the legit download locations to remove it until Sep 7 or Sep 8, so don't know how many of those google hits are going to still contain it for you. In the future, when you don't know, Google it and thou shall find (usually).

Thanks for trying. It's just not for me. A radio station that is the size of that building there wouldn't have one let alone two helicopters. Suggestions: Create a lot that has a substantial midrise skyscraper, put the radio antennae next to it, and put 1 helicopter on the roof would be more in line. Keep trying, you'll get out a bat that people like.

What a great idea. I've had a city that I modeled after the San Fernando Valley in Southern California that's never felt quite complete. Now I understand why, it's been missing all the scrap yards that are over near to Sunland and Tujunga. This will definitely allow me to finally complete my SFV city scapes. Thanks for sharing. 5/5

I've always wondered why some of your greatest work gets so few comments. I finally figured it out, it's because people are busy building their cities with your stuff that they are too busy to comment. A higher compliment could not be payed. As usual, another outstanding plugin, and thank you very much for continuing to share your stuff, it is appreciated.

Please link to the dependencies to make them easier to get to for those that don't have them. When I come across a lot that I want that has dependencies that I know I don't have, if it's not linked in the description I usually pass over it. Sorry to say, I've passed over this one too because of that. The screenshot looks nice though.

Going along with what ptrues6331 said, I could see this tilted to about where the mouth of the can was at the 10:00 position on a watch, and placed ontop of a building as an advertisement for Pepsi. Of course, you'll have to then BAT the building to go with it though. Good concept for this one, I'll give it a 4/5 though it's unlikely to find a home in any of my cities, just not my thing, no offense, good job.

I like the style of this one, but I do have to agree with some of the other folks around here, it's a bit too bright and textures could be a tad better if the right texture could be found to use. But again, I like the style of this and it looks good other than what's been listed as it's faults. Perhaps while you're trying to fix the lights you can also tone it down a bit with some new textures.

Should I buy the simcity box? I have never played simcity 4.
City Planner replied to monkey13's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Buy the box, you're getting basically Simcity 4 deluxe (simcity 4 plus rush hour) and the Societies and it's expansion. $20.00 is still a great deal for SC4 and rush hour in my opinion. It's certainly the game (other than Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction) that has had the most play time on my computer and continues to get playtime to this day (where as Diablo 2 doesn't anymore). If you enjoy City Building Games of a modern era, then it's likely that SC4 will be for you. Don't forget to grab some great stuff our of the exchange on this site to add some real diversity to your cities. -
Originally posted by: Jasoncw I agree with SimFox and Heblem. Also, I think that even releasing a demo was a bad idea on MC's part.quote> Yes, I agree. Most of my CB buddies (online) that have tried the demo so far all seem to concur that it's really not a good selling tool for this game and all the build up and hype they felt about the game were dashed to the ground with the demo. I think it would have been better to try to sell the title without the demo for the first run sales (although Im positive that would be critisized too and plenty of people that would say 'No Demo, No Sale', rock meet hardplace) and then put out a demo in hopes of attracting any straglers that might be sitting on the fence. However it probably should have been a completed demo before they released it. Silly things like tool tips that show gibberish doesn't exactly make the game look polished. Other things like simple gramatical errors (that a friend told me was reported) are in the demo too, again making it look unfinished and unpolished. Demos should be/could be a great selling tool, but not when they are incomplete in my opinion. If I had nothing else to go on but the demo, it would not convince me to buy the game. Maybe that's just me though. Originally posted by: kevinj319 I can't believe they are actually releasing a demo. The best way for MC to make money from this debacle would be to keep as much of this game secret as possible, and wait for unsuspecting consumers to pick up the game based on the scrrenshots. MC must really have some guts to let people preview this, or they don't realize the flop they have on their hands. quote> Or they simply believe that their own beta forums are filled with nothing but whiners. It is sad and funny at the same time to see so many people that were rooting for MC and supporting them in their endeavor make a complete about face once MC was forthcoming with informaiton on what their real plans were. I don't know, Im guessing the game will sell to those that look at the shiny box on the retail shelves and think the screenshots look great, or to the grandmothers, aunts etc that buy it for their realitives. Aaack, I hope nobody buys it for me this holiday season. Oh wait, it's not on my list of games to be bought, then again with the rumors that Diablo 3 is delayed until 2010, there isn't any other games on my list for this holiday season. Bummer, I was so looking forward to the hyped version of CXL.

I'm talentless, so when I played the demo making bendy roads, what I found out was that when I attempted to add houses or business's to those beautiful bendy roads it looked less organic than it does in SC4 with a grid. If the Lots weren't all 1" squares it might be different but they are so it isn't (for me). While I've played SC4 on and off since it was released, I've only now really gotten into it where I have GB's of plugins that make my city look pretty natural, as natural as SC4 can make it look anyway (for me again). Overall, yeah bendy roads are nice at first, then I realize they really don't live up to all the hype, and when a square house is sitting on the curve of the bendy roads, it doesn't look so natural anymore. Just my opinion I guess.

Game Crashes, and Jerks around
City Planner replied to City Planner's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Yah, my screen resolution supports the 1920x1200 I'll check the video cards.sgr file and see whats in there, I seem to remember having to add my card to the sims 2 apartment life to get it to run. But it didn't run at all where as SC4 does run but unstable, but I'll try it and see what happens. Thanks -
3ds Max - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
City Planner replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi, Im trying to find the original discussion for this thread, when I go to the link provided in the original post on this thread it just takes me to a page that talks about fusetalk.com and how perhaps the url passed was incorrect, bla bla bla. Specifically, Im trying to find the information on installing the Bat to 3DSMax 2009. I used to have it installed on my old computer but that was well over a year ago and I've long since forgotten how to reinstall everything so that I can continue to bat up some new buildings. Thanks -
Thanks, will have a look at it.
