Hey Guys, Back with another strange issue. I finally got everything to work, was downloading all kinds of nice plugins until suddenly the game stopped working. At random I just double clicked to start the game and completeley nothing happened. Only the the ''hourglass'' shows up for one second and then it disappears. The game doesn't even show it start up screen, just zero nada. Has anybody heard of this strange problem? I already reinstalled the game but I have this issue with Simcity 4 and Rush hour both as of now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It was indeed the windows update guys, thanks a lot. Windows should stop doing such things in order to ''protect our systems'' ....

Hey guys, New pc means: SIMCITY 4 FINALLY AGAIN. Unfortunately, like many others I've encountered huge graphic glitches. The game is unplayable. I checked out multiple threads to fix it but I do need some more specific help here. I've got an intel core i5 with the following videocard: Nvidia Geforce 970 GTX. Using this command: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1 -CustomResolution:enabled -r1600x900x32 -d:OpenGL I managed to fix the glitches within hardware mode. However, the graphics turned out not to be not so pretty (the shadows can be compared with software mode). I want to play this game in hardware mode because of the better shadows, performance and HD possibilities. Is there any way to get this game running smoothly on hardware with my system specs? Thanks in advance, those who can help me out. By the way: running the game in software mode there are no issues, as most of us experience. It is not ideal though.

Hey man, thanks for your help. I chose not to go with windows 8.1. I'm running on windows 7. I've seen the link you sent. Looks a bit complicated though. You need notepad for it I guess. So you're telling me that I would need to install a whole different videocard it doesn't work? Maybe I understand you wrongly

Dear all, After years of absence I'm planning on returning to SC! It is still the best game ever made (ofcourse not without the help of all our great BAT builders, modders and lotters). At some point I lost all my plugins when my PC crashed. Trust me that the plugin folder was huge. The thing is, I want to make it easier to start playing again without the need of downloading all these files over again. So I'm contemplating on purchasing the STEX Voume discs 2,3 and 4. Appearently easy to install and purchasing it serves another purpose as well: Supporting this great site. The question is: When I install the stuff from the discs I don't know what plugins are installed and what not. So for example, when I download a bat that's already in the package will i know it? Or do I only find out when I extract it to the plugins folder. Is there a thread where I can see what's in the STEX Volume discs? Thanks, Alkaola

@nonny Noose lol the OCD types. Maybe indeed some guy has rolled it out for us What's up with the NAM, it's easy downloadable from this site right? Thanks for the info, I will purchase the discs anyway and try to keep a better oversight in my plugin folder. In my mind however it's easy to know what's in it and what not for I will be certainly downloading more from the STEX exchanges. It's a waste of time to download BAT's that are already (without knowing) installed from the STEX Volume disc. And I believe extracting files that are already downloaded and installed can cause the game to crash right? I remember there was a program for that that changes the files in a way so that the game doesn't crash anymore. Forgot the name of the program however.

Hey there Dirk, Maybe this has been discussed before but I still have some questions to ask, Will they make bigger city tiles ? And can they be connected to each other? Is there a weather thing involved in the game? (cloudiness, rain, day and night and stuff like that)

wow long time no posting here... anyway ..this particular problem is the main reason why i quit playing simicity .... A BIG shame that EA/maxis never made a patch to fix this ....I must confess that I hate them for that.. But on the other hand crashes are often caused by custom content (props etc) so you can't blame maxis / ea for that... Oh man I wanna play simcity again ... gosh ...

i don't think according to that picture it wouldn't take very long to make a 'city ' like that .... But like anarchy said you should add water pumps en power plants ..otherwise it won't grow

i love it sofar ... you are doin' a great job on mixing modern cities with old style paris like cities, i like that aspect. Another great thing is the waterflora you're using it gives an extremely realistic look. I have only one question about that, i installed this mod also but when it's installed the water get totally transparant and i don't want that. But i DO want the waterflora, can you show me how to get rid of that problem Greetings from a dull and cold Amsterdam
