Guide to The Republic of Kr
griffen_star commented on griffen_star's City Journal Entry in Republic of Kr
I apologize that you found the policy to be offensive. I was trying to convey that Kreveshka did not accept people from countries that have issues with human rights (infact most European countries, and the US have special regulations on aid and immigration to and from countries with human rights issues) -
CarmineHilton: Yeah I'm back! I'm not really sure, I like the idea of having a story line that branches from nation to nation. But I'm not sure I can give all the other things due attention. (x+x²)²/x: I'm sure they aren't that bad. I sometimes look at other CJ's and feel like a novice, but keep playing and you'll get better. Retep Molinari: Why thank you, I give you a 10. SirUnger: Here's more k50dude: Well I suppose I like things to be as realistic as possible. I was inspired by a travel book I got, and this layout has branched out from there. Update 3 Here is a newspaper I did a while ago, plus a new map (just because I think it looks cool). Expect an even more detailed update coming next week, with an introduction to our first stop on the tour of Kreveshka, Provosglonia, the Jewel of the Arctic. Thank you for all the wonderful comments! Ciao, Griffén

(Hello Everyone, This is a general guide to Kreveshka, also an introduction) Guide to Kreveshka Pt 1 Passports & Visa Getting into Kreveshka is fairly easy if you are from a member country of the EU, America, Australia, New Zealand, China, and Japan. A passport is required for anyone entering or leaving the country, and all luggages is subject to the normal customs search. Few encounter problems with entering or leaving the country, however due to Kreveshka’s strict rules on the importation of plants and animals it is highly advised to check with your embassy which plants or animals are allowed into the nation. The Republic of Kreveshka bans entry to citizens from the following countries: Vietnam, North Korea, Oman, and Nigeria. You must receive special clearance to enter the country if you are a citizen of the banned nations. Travelers with a passport are allowed to remain in Kreveshka for up to three months, with the exception of they may not obtain jobs in Kreveshka or enroll in any government program. In order to remain in the country for more then three months without obtaining a visa you must re-apply for entry at the local Blue Card office. If you wish to work in Kreveska then a visa is needed. There are four main visas offered in Kreveshka; The work visa applies to any person wishing to work and reside in Kreveshka. The student visa which applies to anyone wishing to study in Kreveshka. The government pass visa is for any worker of a approved government. And finally the permanent resident visa which upon approval allows you reside in Kreveshka for life, without the need to re-apply every seven years. To obtain a visa, speak with your embassy or apply at any government center office. Travel Within Kreveshka Kreveshka is an easy country to get around in. There are major highways which link all major cities, as well as secondary roads linking the more remote sections of the country. As of 2012 all Kreveshkan towns with a population of 1500 or more will be linked by rail. You may also look into boarding a bus for travel; busses serve most major cities as well as a few smaller villages. Road - To rent a car in Kreveshka you must have your passport, and foreign drivers licence present when applying. Be forwarned that many car rental companies place a 40L tax on any foreign applicants. Most car rental companies are based out of the major cities, and can be reached via train from the airport. Once you have obtained a vehicle you may then travel at your hearts content. Remember: In Kreveshka vehicles travel on the left, opposite countries such as the USA, France, and Italy. Also, all major highways have a max speed limit of 95mph, with many city roads having a max of 45mph. If you are ever pulled over by a police officer you must have your passport, foreign licence, and car rental contract present. Insurance is typically provided by the car rental company Rail – Travelling by rail is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to travel Kreveshka. In 2012 all towns with a population of 1500 or more will be linked by rail. Though most cities and towns are all ready rail accessible, there are some towns that lack a rail station. You can purchase a KRE-RAIL Pass at any station, the KRE-RAIL allows you to travel on any KRE-RUR (Kreveshkan Rural Rail) for one low price (Range of 15L to 45L depending on vendor). The only issue with the KRE-RAIL pass is when reaching a city you must buy a separate pass for the local rail system. Every city has a metropolitan rail pass, with most passes ranging in price from 25L to 190L. Be warned that two separate passes are needed when in Liir, one for the raised rail network (LR-A) and the ground rail network(LR-B). Water – You may want to take the scenic (and much longer) sea route, in order to do so you must check the local schedule (a copy can be obtained at the government tourist offices). All ferries are sea-faring only, due to the fact that most of the rivers within Kreveshka have to many rapids for safe travel. The largest ferry station is in Atvenbranka, which services all ferry ports within the country. Private ferries can be requested for a fee if you wish to see the more remote regions of Kreveshka. Air - Kreveshka has three major airports, with numerous smaller airfields. The largest airport is located outside of Tuva and is called the Ber’verseka International Airport. Though a majority of internal flights fly out of Sonatava’s airport called P.E.A.C.E International Airport. All airports in Kreveshka are serviced by the KRE-RUR (Kreveshkan Rural Rail) and if you show the attendant your passport and flight ticket then you receive a free pass (courtesy of the Kreveshkan Tourist Office) Holidays The Republic of Kreveshka follows most major Christian holidays, excluding Palm Sunday and Fat Tuesday (due to the lack of catholics on the island). Most businesses are open on major holidays, excluding Christmas Day and Easter. Also you should be aware of certain national holidays that are obsereved. A majority of businesses, government offices, and even in some cases, public transportation will be closed on these national holidays. Here is a list of national holidays. March 5th – Traders Day June 20th – Kreveshkan Founders Day September 1st – World War II National Holiday October 31st – Par’ov Day December 22nd – Arctic Heritage Day Shopping Shopping in Kreveshka is a unique experience, a majority of native shoppers still haggle with shop owners, and it is even encouraged in some regions of the country. Be aware however, if you offer to low of a price then you will insult the manager or shop owner. Here are a few tips when head out to get your shop on! 1. ATM Debit Cards and Credit Cards are accepted in most locations within the major metropolitan regions (Liir, Provosglonia, Sonatava, Atvenbranka, and Tuva). However when venturing out into the villages of the Se’lva Plains or the Northern Ridge villages be aware that many shops will only accept cash. 2. There is a flat tax on all transcations (with the exception of produce and animal products) of .8% You may receive a refund if you proceed to the local Blue Card office and fill out a form. They will refund you in Leva only. 3. As required by law all public establishments in Kreveshka must offer public restrooms. However, most businesses locate their restrooms in odd area’s (bassments, attics,). To find out where the bathrooms are you must first ask a employee or manager of the establishment where the bathrooms are. 4. Most Kreveshkans will tell you that the best shopping is actually in the many flea markets of the cities. If your looking for any souveniers it is best to head over to the local flea market (usually held on Sundays from 9am to 4pm). There you’ll be able to find food, clothing, and art from local Kreveshkan dealers for half the price of the major outlets. 5. Be warned that if you are caught shop lifting in Kreveshka that the fines are hefty. For example, if you are caught stealing a braclet work 15L then the fine will most likely range from 5000L to 10000L. Children Kreveshka is a very family friendly place, many tourist agents offer family-oriented vacations around the country. However, be aware that some areas of the country favor adults over children (see Atvenbranka Grogser’voirt Port) and should be avoided if need be. Emergencies Police (111/777) Ambulance (123) Fire Department (999) Gay & Lesbian Kreveshka was voted the most gay and lesbian friendly country in 2008 by Advocate Magazine. Gay and lesbian individuals will find numerous friendly districts and hotels through out the city. Some cities have gay districts with clubs, spa’s, resteraunts, and even museums geared towards gays and lesbians. The people of Kreveshka are very open minded and though you’ll get a stare for looking “British” or “Asian” as many do, you will not be stared at if you are walking arm and arm with your partner. The largest gay cruise line “Imp” is headed out of Atvenbranka (see Gay & Lesbians Guide to Kreveshka by Atver-tres) Internet Access Kreveshka is a wii-fied country. Most cities have a wireless network which is free to Kreveshkan citizens, but can be accessed for a fee by tourists. However if you feel like being around others and surfing the web, you may prefer one of the countries many ECO-LOUNGE’s where you can pay 2L and get unlimited internet access. Some ECO-LOUNGE’s come with a promotional offer where if you present your passport then you get a free ITunes gift card. Legal Matters If the worst happens and you are arrested in Kreveshka do not fear (unless you’re guilty). The Kreveshkan Justice system is quick and fair. In a majority of the cities, a 24 hour court is open to arraign prisoners any time of the day. It is advised that you contact your local embassy in the case of an arrest. In Kreveshka all prisoners are entitled to two phone calls, meals, housing, and a federal attorney. An embassy will arrange for you to have a attorney whom speaks your native language. Most laws in Europe and the America’s are the same in Kreveshka. However, a few major laws are different: 1. Marajuina is considered to be illegal, but if someone is found to be in possession of it (below 20kg) then they are normally never tried. 2. Unlike most nations, in Kreveshka, you can be drunk and in public. However, be careful to not get to loud as most cities have noise ordiences. 3. Kreveshka is a very environmentally friendly nation, and trash dumping is of the highest degree of penalties. If convicted of trash dumping (or littering) a fine is usually imposed of 5000L and the convicted partie must partake in a six week eco-class at a local university. 4. It is illegal to carry a firearm unless you have a specific permit to do so. Only police officers, and security personal are permitted to carry a firearm. 5. Urinating in public is legal and you will see many signs in English warning you of this. Television & Radio Kreveshka has numerous television stations (the last count was 746). Most television channels broadcast in either Kreveshkan or English with kreveshkan subtitles. How ever if you want a channel in another language then you must search in the 600 channel range. You will find channels ranging from Japan ROCK TV to French Connect, all broadcasting in their native languages with Kreveshkan subtitles. In terms of Radio you’ll find an abundance of radio stations while visiting Kreveshka. A majority of Kreveshkan Music radio stations play Kreveshkan music, with a mixture of European, Japanese, Korean, and American music mixed in. As with television, radio offers hundreds of stations in different languages and subjects. Health If the un thinkable occurs and you are injured in Kreveshka then do not worry, you are in good hands. Kreveshka’s healthcare system in private but a tourist plan is avaible for a fee. The fee is costs around 90L and covers any individual visiting the country with a passport for up to thirty days. You must renew when your thirty days expire. If you haven’t purchased this insurance at the airport or before entering the country, then most hospitals will offer this to you for roughly the same price. By Kreveshkan law you have the right to request a translator for any dealings with the hospital. However this usually not needed, as most hospital personal are fluent in numerous languages. Also carry a “ID CARD” with you indetifying the next of kin, blood type, home address, and any other relevant materials. Smoking & Drinking Smoking in Kreveshka remains largely un-regulated. Some cities (including Tuva, and Provosglonia) ban smoking in government offices, including hospitals and museums. The legal age for nicotine consumption is 18, however it is well known that most individuals attempting to purchase cigarettes are rarely ID’d. Kreveshkan citizens have a relaxed view of smoking, and view it as a common pleasure. In recent years the Kreveshkan government has attempted to curb this idea with public ads, however due to legal restrictions, notibbly the inability for the government to enact taxes that are meant to stir a individuals thoughts and habits toward a certain lifestyle. Most hotels and resteraunts offer non-smoking section and should be requested if needed. The legal age to drink alchoal is 18 in Kreveshka. A small tax of .8% is applied to the sales of alchoal, but in comparison to other western nations, Kreveshka’s tax on alchoal is relatively inexpensive. It is a social custom to go to drinks for lunch and dinner in Kreveshka, and people rarely drink at home (they tend to see it is a pre-cursor to alchoalism). The legal age limit is .05% in Kreveshka, and drinking and driving is taken to the highest offense and a person suspected of doing so faces fines up to 150000L and or jail time. Pt 2 Coming sometime this following week: Topics to Include, Guide to Kreveshka Pt 2, and Intro to Provosglonia, The Capital of the West. Thank you all so much for reading~!!!

Hello everyone~! I'm looking for the file name of the tall spanish style building in this picture: I really hate this building. I downloaded it some years ago and it doesn't fit into my city designs now. So I'd love to find the file name so I could get rid of it. Thanks in advanced!

The United Republic of Kreveshka A Brief History of Kreveshka: First Generation - Enuva Period: It is believed that the first true settlers to the Kreveshkan mainland were Bulgarian explorers from the Bulga Empire sometime in the mid 1000's. They were believed to have been seeking the British Isles for a trade partner and strayed north. The Bulgarians had a large hope of making Kreveshka a northern trading spot, and using its vast lumber for ship building. The first settlement was Provosglonia on the western coast. With the first civilized settlement, groups from all over the Bulga Empire were flocking to Krevehska as to get away from the heavy Turkish presence around them. Thus other settlements began; Tuva, Liir, Losvosgonia (Sonatava), and Huun Huur Tu. Trading was good on the island for some time until 1170 when the Bulga Empire fell to the Islamic forces sweeping over the slavic regions. With the destruction of trhe Bulga Empire, Kreveshka was left to fend for itself. Rather than form a single nation they chose to break apart into three countries. This seperation was mainly due to the religious groups of Weslyn in the mid south, Yusnien Christians in the far south, and Eastern Orthadox in the north. So with this seperation Kreveshka was created in the North, Hura in the mid south, and Jtkleven in the far south. Jtkleven renamed its capital from Losvosgonia to Sonatava, Hura declared its capital as Liir, and Kreveshka deemed Tuva as its capital grounds. Trade between the three nations remained steady up until 1301 when Instrogniv Mestevochinia became the king of Kreveshka. Second Generation - Mustv Period: Instrogniv Mestevochinia was a extremist in his beliefs that the entire island should be united, and Kreveshka had the duty to unite the entire region. His beliefs triggered the Tidal War (Yusiv War), a large scale civil war. Kreveshka made the first strike by sending troups to occupy Kolko, on the border of Hura and Kreveshka. The battle only lasted 3 days before Kolko was gained by the north. With this act, the reality of war hit Jtkleven and Hura. The two nations united under the Orgrevchia Act. Mean while, Kreveshka continued its offensive stance by releasing cannons on Liir. The two nations army held the city for more than 6 months, until the city fell due in part to a disease sweeping the region at the time leaving many troups in sick beds. With Liir fallen to Kreveshkan forces, Hura admitted defeat leaving Jtkleven as the only opposing member to the even larger Kreveshkan Nation. Things remained silent for three years, until Kreveshka struck the town of Atvenbranka. Jtkleven forces defeated the north, and were able to hold the town for some time until re inforcments were brought in from the north and the town was lost. This left only the general area of Sonatava in Jtkleven hands. Kreveshka held a full scale offensive attack on the city, burning large parts of it. Yet Jtkleven was able to remain strong, and defended the city with its shinning general; General Ugret Vistomich. The true change in the stale mate of Sonatava happened when Kreveshka destroyed the main vain for the Jtkleven economy; its port. With the destroyed port, and no means for a economical or aid recovery Jtkleven declared defeat in 1320. This then ushered in the brief Golden Times of Tuva, until Instrogniv Mestevochinia was murdered by southern raticals. Third Generation - Grovek Period: After the war, large sections of the now Hura Province, and Jtkleven Province remain destroyed. The north denied Jtklevens request to rebuilt its port, and begin recovery out of fear that if Jtkleven became a economical power then its independent nature would arise again. The dismile situation remained constant in the south for nearly two hundred years until what is known was the Age of the Queens began in Kreveshka. Nini Yortsolko was the first queen of the Kreveshkan Nation. She knew that Kreveshka would never become a strong power in the world unless the south was able to recover. She sent aid to the south, to rebuilt the ports. She also set up a road system through out the nation connecting all major cities. With the new ports, and recovery efforts the south sprang back to life. Liir quickly became the largest city in the nation, with a population of 206,000 and its new port granted it international trade. Sonatava reformed itself, creating a city full of parks and avenues. Fourth Generation - Tosgrenotiv Period: In 1716, after a string of queens that were meer puppets being run by extremist. A idealist group called Oblko Group (now have a district in Liir named after them) brought the idea of a democratic society to the masses of Kreveshka. The real revolution began when a planned revolt was staged in all three major cities. In Tuva, the Oblko Group ransacked the queens palace killing the present queen, a Yugret Wvysuv. In the south they gained control of the Liirian Province headquarters and killed the Pronvince Guard. With this amazing act, the monarchy of Kreveshka was destroyed and gave rise to the Kreveshkan Republic. There was a brief moment of chaos in the country, until the meeting of the three provinces, and the first elections for a prime minister were declared, as with this election the woman were allowed to vote according to the heavy presence of woman in the resistance. The first elections in the country were held in 1723 all through out the country. The elected prime minister was Gresvin Onitchnia. Gresvin began to quickly form the basis for a democratic nation with the help of the Provincial House. He formed 49 departments including the department of health, department of roads (later the department of transportation), the department of finances, and the department of trade. Kreveshka also was briefly involved in the American Revolutionary War, sending some aid to the American militia. This created a shakey relationship with the United Kingdom which remains to this day. Fifth Generation - Hevv Period: Kreveshka became the for runner for a politcal power. With mass quanities of lumber, and cole in the northern islands the Industrial Revolution was perfect for Kreveshka. The KRE was created in 1834 which linked all Kreveshkan cities to one another by rail. Also a major paving campaign was put under way, paving single roads to all major cities, and a few towns. Also in 1852, a major landmark in healthcare was made in Kreveshka. Healthcare was deemed uniformal, meaning the federal government would govern all healthcare and offer it to all citizens with a tax paid on their income. The uniformal healthcare ushered Kreveshka into a socliast democratic country, as it is still today. Kreveshka also began to play a part in the world market, uniting with its former mother country of Bulgaria, and united with the United States of America, Russia, the Austria-Hungary Empire, the United Kingdom, and Denmark. These alliances made Kreveshka's trade boom, Tuva became a major city with a population of 800,000. Liir was already surpassing a million people, and Sonatava had gained upwards to 700,000 people. The first international conflict Kreveshka was involved in was World War I. Due to its alliances with the United Kingdom, it was forced to join the fight. Kreveshkan troups aided the Entente Troups in France, and modern day Germany. A vast stock of ships were harbored in the many harbors of Kreveshka as a stopping off point to Europe. Kreveshka had little to do with the Versailles Treaty, and a national ideal of remaining out of Europe's problems was evident in the countries culture. This remained true until the major outbreak that was World War II. Kreveshka had vowed to remain out of the war, even with the Britians pleeding. It wasn't until a german ship forced the Kreveshkan government to allow them to dock in Liir to refuel. This sparked an out rage through the entire country, and for what may have been a simple matter, the Kreveshkan government declared war on the Axis Powers. The first battle that Kreveshkan troups were involved in was in northern France on the beaches of Normandy. Kreveshka was in a majority of western europe's battles. Though suprisingly, as Bulgaria remained with the Axis Powers, Kreveshkan troups, as with the Soviet Unions troups conqured Bulgaria and were walking threw the streets of Sofia. As the Axis powers in Europe fell, the United States of America requested the assistance of Kreveshka in the pacific. Kreveshka sent troups to the paicifc under the principle that they would gain a trading post. The Kreveshkan army, along with other allied forces defeated the Japanese army. And with that Kreveshka gained the small island north of Japan known as Kagurrea. Sixth Generation - Otyuv Period: As Europe began to place itself back together. Kreveshka was doing the same with radical reforms in its transportation network. In 1956, seven major highway projects began in Kreveshka linking all cities and towns of a population above 3,000. The project was completed in 1963 in the city of Annv Moorv. In 1971, the age of social reform was realized in Kreveshka with the signing of the Yosten Bill which declared abortions legal, and covered under the uniform healthcare. Also in 1979, Kreveshka became the first nation to allow gay marriages, as a full sactioned marriage. This created a somewhat rocky relationship with the United States, due in part to America's some what puritan beliefs on such social issues. In 2001, Kreveshkan troups were once again involved in a international conflict. The Kreveshkan army aided America, Britian, and a handful of other nations in the invasion of Afghantistan. To this day, Kreveshkan troups remain in Afghanistan. Yet, when America pushed for the invasion of Iraq, Kreveshka remained admiment that America has no involvment in the affairs of other nations, that have had no affect on the US. To this day, Kreveshka is a modern liberal nation. Rich with history, and slavic roots nearly 2000 miles from the nearest slavic stronghold. The House of Alpha Commons is comprised of reps from each province (3 for each Province), including Kagurea and Nordosk. This House is mainly to pass bills that effect the nation as a whole, and not metro regions. The House of Secunda Commons is the largest of the Houses. Comprised of represenatives from each "realm". There are 293 realms in the nation. This House concerns itself with smaller issues of Metro Regions and such. The Court of Avren is made up of 13 elected judges. This branch is concidered the most powerful has it has the right o veto any law or bill that disagrees with the Krveshkan Plan (constintution). Education: Kreveshka is concidered to have one of the most advance educational systems in the world. All education is federally funded, and all previsions are determined by the providincial government. The education is broken into three sections First Landing - From age 5 to age 13 general education is taught to students. Starting at age eight, there is federal exams that need to be completed at the end of each year in order for the studen to move forward to the next year. Also as students advance, more and more electives are offered to see what the child takes interest in. Second Landing - Begins at age 14 and is condcidered the most difficult section of ones educational life. General education is continued, yet at the end of each semester federal enterance exams are required to continue onto the next semester. It is not un-common for students to attend cram schools for these exams. Also as electives become more prominent at the age of 17, a final exam is given to give the student direction in their quest for a university education and later on career. University - Universities are paid for by the government. There are no private institutions in the country, though one can be found in Kagurrea. All higher education is concidered easy compared to Second Landing. In A University, a student must declare a major by their second semester in their first year. Prestige is based on the size of the university, and the amount of students allowed in. The most prestiges university in the country is Sonotava - Breveshka University Located in Sonotova. Only 450 students are admitted each year. Social Policies: Gay Marriage - Gay Marriage ( and institutional partners) are legal in Kreveshka. In 2058 it was anounced that Kreveshka's Republic House would pass the Avessy Bill, which allowed for same sex couples to recieve the same rights as heterosexual couples. This bill was turned into law in February of 2058 by the Prime Minister Sanislava Instuvankisha. Kreveshka was the first country in the world to fully legalize gay marriage, and with this Kreveshka has earned a "gay friendly" atmosphere with large gay districts in Liir, Tuva, and Sonotava. Infact, the Gay Cruise line Amoria frequently runs cruises to the southern providences. Abortion - Abortion (up to the second trimester) was made legal in 2048 by the passing of the Hugnna Bill. The country is still torn on the issue of abortion, abortion clinics can be found in many of the major cities and are covered by the Kreveshkan HealthCare system. Healhtcare - Healthcare is Federally mandated, and free to all residents within Kreveshka (this includes those that vacation to Kreveshka. Though there is a guideline which mandates only emergency visits for visitors. (and now finally onto some actual images!) Seeing as the entire region is not complete I shall go city by city as they are completed. Sonatava, Jtkleven The Southern Gem First District - Univeshka (Downtown) Sites to See & Behold! The University of Sonatava - South Building is the oldest educational building in the south to with stand the Civil War. Located in this building are the offices and legal department for the university. Jtkleven Providincial Parliament is the old home of the great rulers of Kreveshka. After the rise of democracy the home was converted into the meeting place for all Jtkleven represenatives. Sonatava Judicial Building is the main court building for the entire city. Hausgrovich-Tche Burial Site is the location of the great general whom defended Sonatava from nothern invading troups during the Civil War Memorial Stachovia Building was the first skyscraper in the city and the only tall structure to survive the civil war. In a controversal move the Jtkleven government revamped the building and added on 9 stories. In the next Update! -Towers of Downtown -KRE Rail System And More Historic Sites.

Update 25 I apologize for having been away, I somehow corrupted one of the city files when moving it from my old computer to my new laptop. However not all is lost! I managed to scrape it together, and now I’m back with full force. I was un able to do a newspaper this time (they always take so long) yet here is a little preview for what’s coming up! pipishere - Thanks so much for the comment! Se’lve Plains – The Se’lve Plains is the largest geographical region in Kreveshka and stretches from as far north as Annv Moorv to the deep southern towns of Fre’v and Obolko. The Se’lve plains are also the least populated region within Kreveshka, with a majority of the urban area’s being located along the eastern and southern coasts. The plains are home to some of the only agriculture in the nation, with over 80% of the farm able land being located within the plains border. The Se’lve plains also contains the first town in Kreveshka; Provosglonia and the first foreign settlement in the region; Annv Moorv. Within the next coming weeks, I’ll be focusing on each town within the plains, and detailing their unique sites and heritage. Thanks to you all for being such dedicated readers! Stayed tuned next week for a new update (promise)!

I know how to import maps from the forum, as well as SC4 Mapper. However, when I do so the elevations are all wrong. Typically where there is suppose to be water, where there is a huge plateau. And the few mountains in the map show up in the game has huge peeks. Am I doing something wrong here? This has been happening for a while now, on my old computer and my new one. I have SimCity Deluxe, and previously had SimCity 4 with Rush Hour installed as well. Any help is appreciated! Thank you -Griffen
