Padrina Plants destroying my region...
soccerkicker266 replied to danza3343's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
The Pedriana Plant is a large (ugly) farm building that appears when you get a large population. Once I had over 100,000 in the region they're the only thing that pops up on farms which looks REALLY ugly. I'll have to try out the mods. Any opinions on how well they work or which one to use? -
My best is 4184. I reached "Monkey Village," thats all that matters to me... lol

I remember the days when there were 150 (I guess 151 with Mew) pokemon. Back in the day of red and blue version, those were the days... The latest version I've owned was yellow which is pretty old. I remember that I had every Pokemon on Red version but when I went back to check it out a year ago they weren't there. Must have accidently deleated them somehow...

Thanks Deever, I found that pretty useful.

Can someone post pictures of stage 8 RCI? I'm wondering if I'm at that stage or not.

I really wish there was some sort of checklist you could have to have certain disasters randomly happen and maybe a bar to adjust the frequency. I know that there are some of us who really love to have disasters from time to time. Though I don't really care too much for disasters now, back when I played SC2K in elementary school disasters were my favorite things. Something about having disasters hit a city (or setting them on a city) made it much more fun. Kind of off topic but I have to do a little reminiscing back to SC2K. Remember ALL the different disasters you could have? And with the SC2K debug cheat you could have like 20 different disasters at your disposal. I loved the hurricane disaster where you would hopelessly deploy police, fire and National Guard units to block flood waters while the wind and storm surge would destroy your city with the tornado siren sound blaring. Good times. For anyone else who played SC2K a lot, did you get like a superman guy flying around putting out fires and stuff? I also remember seeing a tail of a sea monster once (I guess a very rare event) in a heavily polluted industrial zone in SC2K--anyone see that? Anyways, they should have a HUGE list of disasters in SC that are also random. With such a large number, it would just be constant fires, tornados, earthquakes, etc but a wide variety of smaller disasters that aren't so devastating and not so repetitive. There's my two cents. Sorry for the long post...

Casual Player in Need of Help
soccerkicker266 replied to Tony II's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
You could go to STEX and just browse the most popular and top rated before you delve into the vast catacombs of downloads that are available. -
If you want a program that can simulate grid paper you could use Microsoft Excel. Just shape the cells into squares and then you can hightlight certain cells and tell them to be whatever color you want.

Future of SimCity Official Discussion Thread

Instead of things like plopable water it would be cool if you could plop headwaters in the mountains that you can set to produce a certain volume of water. The water then would follow the contours of the land on its own. Then the user can use a tool like the "erosion" tool in God mode to make the water erode valleys so there are actual rivers and river valleys instead of just wide shallow plains of water. Tributaries would then intersect creating larger and larger rivers until they reach the ocean. Of course, rivers going over cliffs would produce waterfalls and steeper terrain would make rapids. This would also provide the upportunity to return the dams and flooding found in SC2K. -
Yeah, I picked up on that one too. Also, I wonder what role Hera is going to play. They always advertised Hera as "the shape of things to come".

Wonderful set. I have found a problem though that if I ever use a info maps such as looking at health, water, traffic, etc and then go to the normal view, the beaches become screwed up and are solid yellow squares and the water that should slope up to the beach disappears and you can't make it go back to normal without exiting to region and going back. Just letting you know. Everything else is PERFECT!

Well I remember seeing a few episodes of the original BSG and Earth was set during modern times (so the 70s). I remember how they had children from the fleet go onto Earth and since the ships gravity plates (or whatever they're called) were set at a strength much greater than Earth the kids could jump 40 feet in the air. (They played a "boing" sound effect whenever the kids jumped... really cheesy lol). The adults also told the kids not to show off to Earth children. Now for the re-imagined series, I wonder too what year Earth will be in. As long as there aren't kids jumping 40 feet into the air...

I just got Deluxe after owning Vanilla for years. I noticed how the U-Drive-It feature dramatically changes the rewards. Back in vanilla you had to work hard to get high populations to get them and now you just have to do a bunch of U-Drive-It missions to get rewards that usually require large populations. I was just wondering if people felt it was "cheating" to get rewards this way or not. Or what your opinions are on how U-Drive-It affects gameplay?

Thanks for the measurements RippleJet. Now it would be interesting if someone used those measurements to approximate the sizes of various in-game objects such as cars, people, animals, etc and compared them to what they are in real life.
