Casey Junior from Dumbo. I've got both the vocal version (which I grew up with) and the orchestrated version (which I just discovered on YouTube). I actually sing along with the vocal version, even in public (no, I don't care what people think), and because of hearing both versions, Felix Mendelssohn is my favorite composer and The Devil Went Down to Georgiais one of my favorite songs. It's a long, winding story...

First, since I'm a college student... As for me, I'm going to enter some on-line graphic design contests, and maybe sell some artwork on Deviantart, and takes lots of photos. I'm hoping to do quite a bit of walking, and spend ample time at Barnes & Noble researching for my graphic design projects. What about you?

I read Concepts of Space: the History of Space in Physics by Max Jammer. The problem is that there were very few illustrations in the book, so I eventually, in an effort to exercise both my mind and Adobe Illustrator prowess (such as it is), would like to attempt to illustrate some of the concepts in that book. Good old Dover textbooks! I wish I had your brains when it came to mathematics. BTW, for some reason I cannot unbold the above sentences

@Zelgadis: I was outside my local mall the other day, waiting to get on the bus, listening to my MP3 player through my headphones. There was another guy who had been very anxiously waiting for the bus, nervously pacing about. The bus pulled up and, after waiting for the current passengers to disembark, the 'pacer' got on the bus ahead of me. After briefly speaking to the driver, he suddenly darted off, so I thought that he had asked for information and was in a hurry to go to a job interview. I stepped up unto the MTU, and showed the driver my student pass, which he acknowledged. Suddenly, I heard two men shouting and...fighting! One of them had his hands around the other's throat and was banging his head against the side bus door. The driver got up and hollered "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING?" The one man released the other one and got off the bus. Since I had gotten off the bus to prevent possible injury , I stepped back on, again showed my card to the driver, and said very dryly, "Is it over yet?" Without saying a word, he acknowledged the card, after which the man who was on the losing end of the conflict walked past me, extremely P.O.'d, and told the bus driver that the other guy was trying to push him off the bus. Which leads me to this: I recently purchased a MP3 player to tune people out! After hearing people airing their dirty laundry in public ("my probation officer said...", "I got a restraining order from my husband..."), incessant use of profanity, and worse things than that, I just couldn't handle it anymore . I'm not perfect by any means, but it seems there was a time when people didn't discuss their personal problems for all to hear, but did so in private, nor did they shout out profanity every forth word. I'm not a snob, but constantly hearing stuff like that wears me down, and it does seem more prevalent as time passes. A good example, speaking of cell phones, is when people use them to try to make themselves seem superior to you by saying things like "Hey Steve, this is Allan. Sell my shares of Microsoft and buy 500 shares of Conglominated International". Give me a break Although the loud music on the bus thing does remind me that scene from Star Trek IV... I have developed very eclectic tastes lately. Duke, if you ever heard what's on my MP3 player, you'd go screaming into the night. One piece will be Dvoriak's New World Symphony, the next will be the Hollies' I can see For Miles, and the next might be Hooked on Gigue (Hooked on Classics series) followed by a children's song I listened to when I was about 4 or 5. And yes, it's set on shuffleThe good news for everyone around me is that I wear my headphones. I'm fluent in English, speak some Spanish, German, Japanese, Chinese, Native American, Russian, Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, and know some computer languages I would like to become fluent in other languages besides English, though.

I consider myself a city planner, since I do everything from the ground up, including config maps, greyscale maps, terraforming, and so forth.

This topic makes me crazy for the following reasons: 1. I grew up in a newspaper/printing environment, so at nine years old I knew far better than most adults how to spell properly and construct complete sentences. 2. When I was THE proofreader for the local newspaper, one thing I would have to read is the school news which was sent to us from, and written by the local grade school and high school students, whose writing was absolutely abominable. It would be typeset from the original copy by our typesetter (she had my utmost sympathy) and then I would have to painfully wade through it, looking for every single error that there was. The worst part was that at the end of the school year, there was NO improvement in the writing of those journalism students. One time, a journalism teacher commented that the students would write much better after they had computers that put sentences together for them. It got to the point that I refused to proofread any more of the school news, and the typesetter backed me up on that, since she hated to set their stuff as much as I hated to proofread it. 3. When a new boss took over, he said that the word tonite is to be spelled as tonight, regardless of how the original copy came in (good for him!). 4. In my graphic design classes in college, if you misspell even one word, your assignment can be dropped as many as two letter grades (as it should be). We are being taught that each piece that we create should be proofed by at least three other people. We all make mistakes, but to not care at all is inexcusable.

I went there, saw the home page, and left. Need I say more? I'd rather spend my time productively by being here at ST.
