I can't think of a lesson or story but this topic did remind me of a figure of speech that people, particularly the folks in the show Mythbusters, tried to interpret literally. Are you familiar with the simile: "You're as clumsy as a bull in a China shop." (or something like that)? Mythbusters tested the credibility of this saying by setting up a bunch of shelves filled with China ware in a bull ranch. The bulls were released and they weren't clumsy at all. They were actually very agile, slight bumps but they didn't topple down a single shelf. Well what do you know. . . Myth busted.

From past experiences in the House of Worship thread, I'd have to say there's no way of proving God's existence (sadly).
