Its a transportation managment game not city building game. I really don't understand the point of that, it seems more like a job than a game. At the end of the day you've got no unique city to be proud of, just some quickly traversing citizens. Seems pretty boring to me. LOL! Ask a gamer that plays FPS what he thinks of city simulators. Uhmm.... Well i love both :-) Ontopic: I bought this game and it's quite good. I agree with the fact that the cities sometimes seem liveless and a little grey, but the options in creating your on transportation system are fenomenal. Also the road options are great. There is such a wide variety of options. For example you can create a complete bussystem with buslanes (only buses) and separate them from the roadnetwork (just like in the city i live in). You simply have so much posibilities, it's endless. Maybe Maxis should talk with Colossal so they can bring these options into the next Simcity.

Same for me.

"For the patient players that decided to wait it out, is now the right time to finally play SimCity? Wait for patch 2.0, or give it another couple of months. Your patience will be rewarded when you eventually decide to play the game." Well don't think so. Patience is not enough. This game will simply never become what the gamers expect it to be. No matter how many patches they will make. We better have a lot of patience and faith that Maxis/EA will create a new Simcity that meets our expectations Honestly. I don't think Maxis/EA will ever create the game we want to have. They had all the time in the world, 10 years, to read and see what modders, fans and players of Simcity 4 wanted to see. And this is what they came up with......

Cities in Motion 2 Shows Nifty Transportation Network Options
TylerD commented on Freddyeddy's article in News
I agree with dscampbell. This is what Simcity really misses. Some good transportation options. They should implement these options to make the traffic in your city work. Cities In Motion gets this concept. I hope the guys at Maxis pay attention and learn from Paradox.... i have to agree.. My hopes for simcity 2013 were for a might higher end version of everything we had in sc4 + what was learned along the ways.. ALL the Mods were transportation and RCI mods to improve the quality .. There is promise and hope in the engine but many of the engines functionality needs to be improved and transportation and modes of transportation are one of them Just imagine if simcity had just the features of offered as far as transportation added to even what simcity has now.. how much people would enjoy it. along with larger city maps I want one way streets, bridges, underpasses, subways, walking paths, bike paths, bus and subway routes and even color of (blue line red line etc) So many possibilities We can always dream and hope I'm buying.. it comes out on my birthday .. so why not Exactly. The modders that made SC4 an even better game, implemented a lot extra's to make the game really work. The only thing Maxis needed to do was to implement these modifications into the new game, and upgrade the graphics a little. That's it. -
Cities in Motion 2 Shows Nifty Transportation Network Options

Cities In Motion (1) was fun to play. The only obstacle the game had was the traffic getting stuck too easy. The footage for part 2 looks promising. I agree with dscampbell. This is what Simcity really misses. Some good transportation options. They should implement these options to make the traffic in your city work. Cities In Motion gets this concept. I hope the guys at Maxis pay attention and learn from Paradox.... -
Looks very promising. And i'm very surprised that only one developer is working on this. My compliments to him. Keep up the good work. I'll be following this.

Soon, SimCity Update 1.9, and then?
TylerD replied to WJ_Webhog's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
What i think? Well, that this Simcity will never become the game, the fans want it to become. So it doens't matter how many patches will follow, the game will simply not be good enough to please the fans. There are simply to much changes needed to make the game work, so we simply have to wait for many years again in the hope of getting a game that fullfills our needs. -
SimCIty Update 1.7 - Traffic and Emergency Vehicles Improved
TylerD commented on Kythlyn's article in News
I totally agree Resender. What i don't understand is why these mistakes are in the game from the beginning. There are hundreds of people working on this game. They probably tested it for thousands of hours, but nobody ever questioned the traffic issues etc..... How is this possible?... -
Discussion about City Tile Size
TylerD replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I think the city size is indeed a little bot too small, but my biggest concern is how the region is created. You can create 16 different cities, but they won't grow together as one big metropolis. In SC4 you could melt them together, and then the smaller city sizes were quite usefull. But in this case you create 16 cities of 150.000 people who are disconnected from each other. The region view this way looks silly and unreal if you want to create a metropolis, which most people who love Simcity, want to create.- 1,284 Replies

Nice teaser, but i really like your first post. Great suburbs and goodlooking highway. Btw what do you use for the entrances and exits on the highways. It looks nice.

I've been to De Kuip a few times, but did not notice that it was an exact copy of the place. Well done! @Korot haha, i know De Kuip has a better ambience than the Arena. Great stadium. Gizmocity, keep up the good work!

Looks real nice. Especially the stadium picture. Very well designed, and really dutch (with a nearby trainstation and surrounding practice grounds). Makes me think of the Amsterdam Arena, except this is "De Kuip" of course. Goed gedaan!

Wow this is really amazing! I really like your detailed landscaping.

I noticed that it is a wide spread problem. I'll just keep on trying until the problem is solved.

I don't know exactly what you mean, but i guess is share the same problem. I'm trying to download soms things from the stex. When i click on a download, the new window pops up, but stays blue. The page then says it's ready, while there is no download visible. In other words, i can't download anything from the stex. Anybody a suggestion what might be the problem " we" are experiencing??... btw i didn't had the problem yesterday.

I still don't have any exception reports. Does anybody have any idea what happened with the already posted exception reports from Defecto or crazyrasko? Maybe it applies to me also.

Wow!! What a large update. I love your region pic. You can really see that you planned out everything, with the castle, the view at the waterfalls and the small community. It all fits really well in the region. Great work jacqulina.

I've reinstalled my game to times. I also complete renewed my plugins folder, and organized it a lot better. Still the game crashes. Not after 2 minutes, but after 15. So the problem is still not solved. Anybody with other suggestions? Thanks for your help so far TV-VCR!
-
Hey TV-VCR, I've looked for the map you're talking about but i don't have it. The thing is, that when it crashes, i don't get any reports. I simply go back to the desktop, and that's it. I've reinstalled my game now, and cleaned a lot of plugins in the map. I hope it helps. greets

Thanks screamingman12 and TV-VCR for your comments. The problem you described with the zooming/scrolling has happened before. This is how the problem started. Espcecially in the beginning when i just started the game and immediatly started scrolling. No i don't even touch the mouse and it happens. I also thought it had anything to do with expending my region from 4 x 4 (large tiles) to 6 x 4 (large tiles). I've deleted the extra 8 and turned it into it's original size. Still the same problem.... The strange thing is that it happens especially in one " tile". When i open another part of my city, it doesn't happen very often, and isn't very disturbing. Anybody a suggestion?? thanks!

Thanks for your feedback, but it hassen't done the trick for me. I've installed a new driver for my videocard, which is a Geforce 9600 GT, but still within 2 minutes the game crashes. I guess it's not graphics he can't handle because my videocard is one of the best there is these days. I've also looked at my plugins folder and deleted everything that i've installed since the problem occured. The question is still.... what's the problem. I hope someone has other suggestions to solve this problem.

Hey, i like you're website, although i prefer to see you movies and pictures on simtropolis. Your movie looks great. Looks very promising. Hope to see more!!

I'm experiencing the same problem. Only i'm working on my third region. The number of people living in my region are a little over 100.000, and i'm building on the largest tilesize. Within a few minutes my game crashes and goes back to the desktop. My specs are: Intel Duo Core 1,7 2 GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GT 9600 I hope you can help us both. TylerD
