Hey everyone. Some nice regions going on here. Here is my current region. It's small, but steadily expanding!

nice.. i need to make a custom airport. right now I'm just using the maxis one.

Don't worry about getting millions of people, just enjoy the building and expanding. Start out with a mix of all three in one city. Make that central city your planned business district, and expand outwards. Make surrounding cities as you need them - they will be your commuter towns. You wont get mega skyscrapers for a while, but it will come in time. Theres a lot more to SC4 than having a bustling metropolis. But if that is all you want, there are some mods available.

I did the same thing a year ago, and I feel your pain. But I started anew and created a better region than I ever had before, and if you don't have a backup, you can do the same. It was actually a good experience in the end.

Is there a way to turn a school that is city funded into a maxis "private school," becuase I have downloaded the Holy cross church and school and the Peace Church and School from JBSimio, but they currently function as city-funded schools. I would like to make them function just like private schools, with no sliders and monthly costs. Is there a way to do this?

You know, the U.S. already has government health insurance. Ever heard of medicare and medicaid? Why not work to have those programs to include more people (those that qualify and don't apply for it, and those that don't qualify), instead of adding another bureaucracy? For these people in Congress, its not about helping the American without health insurance. It's nothing but a power grab, and Americans have to wake up and see this "reform" for what it is. And since you wish to contest my point that it is a power grab: Well, first of all they ignored tort reform as I mentioned, which would have really helped these suffering people. They will require every American to have insurance, and tax everyone to support the government plan (As Daniel Webster said in the case McCulloch v. Maryland "An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy" - in this case now the power to destroy the freedom we have to do with our money as we see fit - a freedom of choice). In addition, there will be numerous taxes on small businesses if they cannot comply with new federal standards regarding the filing of their returns and making up a plan to cover their employees, meaning that for many the more cost effective option is to no longer provide health insurance benefits and put them on the government plan (in which the government will have control over what to cover for these people). Now, do you have any unbiased information that the government truly cares about the people without health insurance and is not concerned about concentrating more power with the federal government? Also Meg, just asking, no malicious tone of voice here, did she apply for medicaid? If she is on it and it doesn't help her, or if she is not eligible, I am sorry for her and it is another reason why we need to reform Medicaid and Medicare, the two programs that are supposed to help the poor and the elderly.
