Well I got 23 and I'm female so apparently I suck at distinguishing colors... that must be why all the red nail polish colors in the salon look the same to me

  13. Why do you love Simtropolis?

    1. Definitely the community. People are very friendly. I like the chat and have met a lot of friends there, some years ago - many of whom I still contact even to this day. 2. The support for the game. Without custom content and mods I would have quit the game years ago. 3. The CJ's. The main reason I play is for eyecandy mostly. I love the aesthetic and artistic value.
  14. Who Plays SC4?

mrbisonm, please, please start that CJ. I really can't wait. I got SC4 for a Christmas gift in 2004. Discovered ST in 2006. Played from 2004-2009ish, then went to college/got job/had RLS and didn't play for about 4 years. Now here I am again
  15. The Unorthodox CJ

The first pic is very impressive!

I'm completely rebuilding my plugins folder from scratch, so suggestions for mods/BATs are COMPLETELY welcome. I missed City Journaling so much that I couldn't contain myself from starting one already. I wanted to get "back to the basics" with this journal. Nothing extravagant, no sky-scraping towers - just beautiful, detailed, and peaceful scenes from people's everyday lives. I hope you enjoy it! Side note: I resized to 1024x?? as per forum rules but since I play in 1920x1080, it made my photos disappointingly small. Not sure how to go about fixing this. Edit: Looks like everyone's pics are about this size so nevermind ----- KNUTE I didn't have much to work with in this city tile, and neither did the settlers who moved there. They named the land "Knute," not to be confused with the neighboring town called "Knut." The settlers were not known for their creativity. Fortunately, the success of Knute depends not on its name, but on hard work (and probably some luck). A windmill was immediately built upon arrival at Knute True to their Puritan work ethic, the settlers planted farms and raised shanty houses. They were poor, but happy. I discovered a gorgeous stone church during my travels in Knute. Where people got the money to build this, I don't know, but I guess the Church has some sort of pull in that regard. The cornerstone of this small community Will I ever get a decent sidewalk mod? Will the people of Knute ever progress past sprawling farmlands and country houses? Find out next time...

REPLIES in Reverse crazychickensc12: Well, my old plugins folder was a hot mess, unorganized and convoluted. Plus I was tired of most of the content. I couldn't delete specific content though because I couldn't find it in the unorganized folder. So I try to look at it as a chance to do better. I can't wait to see more of your CJ. TekindusT: Ha, the ol' times when we raised the moderator hammer on anyone who dare post larger than 800x600? Seriously though, thanks, I just thought they looked super small. I like to show details! TowerDude: Thanks, glad you commented Schulmanator: And imagine my surprise to see Schulmania still on the first page Glad to see some things never change KonstantinII: I'll have to check out that CJ because I do not know of it. Sounds pretty good! ThirtyThree: Thanks glad you stopped by to comment. Benedict: Thanks for the warm welcome back and it's good to see you are still around also. I'm surprised and happy to see how many familiar usernames are around. This place is magnetic! --- Now that life has slowed down a bit I have more time to play the game. Life has been crazy the past few years! Here is an overview of Knute! I noticed that there were a crap-ton of farm jobs but only like 300 people living in Knute. Clearly, we require more housing. Time for a neighborhood! These residents couldn't be prouder of their fancy red streets
  18. The Unorthodox CJ

wow, you've put a ton of work into this already! I like how you're planning everything out first. Don't know if you ever found this out but press G to turn off the grid for pics (I think). I'll be patiently waiting for new developments.
  19. The Kaysland Region - First stop, the town of Sanderson

I love this strong start to your CJ! The beach is my favorite picture. Hope to see more from you soon.
  20. Crazy's Collection of Cities

Holy crap man you're still around! And as good as ever!
  21. rebuilding my plug-ins from scratch any suggestions?

    1. T Wrecks

      T Wrecks

Yup. Keep an archive AND a plugins folder. Use the former to add stuff to the latter or take away from it. Organise your stuff well. Make it so that you can find anything you see in game within minutes in your plugins folder.

    2. T Wrecks

      T Wrecks

Given today's abundance of plugins, I strongly recommend a "pull" approach as opposed to a "push" system, i.e. no download spree, but instead carefully measured downloads of stuff you feel you need to add when you play the game and something is lacking,
