Krukedogg: I bought the game several years ago, funny story, I went to the counter with Sim City and they gave me Sim City Deluxe instead, saved me about $50. Also no problem with the video card. High Flyer: I have exams this week, so i'll dowload the data packer on the weekend and see how I go. N_O_Body: I'm running XP and I tried that maxing out my virtual memory. I think it stopped the automatic zooming, but the game crashed when I tried zooming so i don't think that helped. Thanks for all the help guys, I will try using data packer and check in again on the weekend. Thanks again.

It's something fishy that the NAM people could never fix. Try to be careful with that.quote> No, nothing like that. I zoom in and then boom, game crashes just like that. So i've got into the habit of saving every few minutes just incase it happens. I don't think it's a problem when I've just starte a city, but when there's detail on the scree, more often than ot it crashes. Very puzzling

So Should I re-install the NAM and change the pathfinding?? Will that damage my existing transport network? Any chance of someone giving me a step by step tutorial on how to fix my commute up using the NAM Also I played around with the ordiance to try and get rid of garbage for good, but now I'm stuffed. I changed the garbage effect on the tyre recycling ordiance and the trash presorting ordiance. Could someoneplease give me the original values and also could someone help me get rid of garbage for good. Thanks. -

Don't know if these will show up. I've used haljackey's ideas to create my own sunken highways in a new city as my transportation base. Hope you can see them and hope you like them. Sorry for the quality, will post more up with better qulity if requested.

After uninstalling Sim City Deluxe a year ago, I dug up the cd and tried to re-install the game. The first disk went fine, and I put the second disc in. About 60% of the way through the installation process, the proccess comes up with "SimCity1.dat won't copy" proceed or cancel instatllation. So I proceed but in the end the process fails. So I thought I'll get the computer formatted and see if it installs or not. That didn't fix the problem, so now I'm screwed.. Any help??

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSS SO HAPPY, now to keep the cd extra clean, thanks for the help guys! I havn't played this game for a while so what are the essentials I need?

Originally posted by: N_O_Body The files on the disks are not protected. Check your CD for damage, and clean it carefully with a soft cloth moving from the center out. If it is scratched, carefully try to polish out the scratch with the cloth. If you cannot remove the scratch(es) ask a computer geek friend to help you. It can be done, very, very carefully. You can also try to copy the file into its proper position in the Program Files\Maxis\Simcity 4 folder on your hard drive from the CD. If possible, use an alternate CD or DVD drive.quote> Hmmmmmmm, well the CD is very very dirty, so I'll give that a go and see what happen. Also if i have to buy the game again, only Sim City 4 is available. i can't find dluxe or rushhour anywhere, whats wih that??

is there a way to use both monorail and the hsrp in the game????????

Originally posted by: Asimov Interesting, thanks for the pics. But to be honest, all trains except the third one look more like they should be in a museum.. What the situation about the Tram in melbourne in general? Is it an efficient system, any expansions planned and whow well is it accepted by the people? Do they like that system or do msot people stick with their cars?quote> We have a lot of new trams like the third one, and a few other different looking new trams, but the old one's still run on the tram system. People in Melbourne love the trams, I ride on it every so often for short commute, and i rode it once for a long commute to Box Hill and it took over an hour, on the train I think ,although someone can back me up, it's 20 min from flinders street station. I think it's effecient especially for short commute, but I dont ride the tram to school so someone else can answer that better. As far as extensions go, the latest was the line to Vermont and before that it was the line to Box Hill. Us in the north eastern suburbs (ie Bulleen, Templestowe, Doncaster) are getting robbed of tram service although there may be a proposed extension of the route 48 from North Balwyn to Doncaster, but that may be a while out. Every Sunday when I was young, I used to get the Bus to Collins Street and take the 112 to South Melbourne to watch the National soccer league. One Sunday evening we beat our arch rivals and as I was going home in an over capacity tram with freinds down Claredon Street, someone lit a flare on the tram and left it on the ground, within seconds the smoke fills the tram, we all escape and the orange flare smoke billows out of the doors and a few open windows. It was quite a spectacle and an unbelievable scene, just wish I had a camera with me. Here's a few more pics XImageTransform.Microsoft.Fade(duration=1)" alt="" border="1" name="slide" bgcolor="black" src="http://www.railpage.com.au/modules/gallery/albums/album179/d01.jpg" /> XImageTransform.Microsoft.Fade(duration=1)" alt="" border="1" name="slide" bgcolor="black" src="http://www.railpage.com.au/modules/gallery/albums/album179/Combino_25.jpg" /> A tip for all visitors, if you love trams find a spot on Swanston street and watch trams go whizzing by every half minute. Sorry for the big post

I live in Melbourne and I have to say that it is one of the best cities in the world. It also has a large Greek and Italian community, might I add it has the biggest grek population outside of Greece and I happen to be one of them. Lygon Street, the Italian district is beatiful and it is shop after shop of italian restaraunts with a few good gelati shops in there as well. Football (soccer) is on he move upwards thank god and we do love our sport, the transport netork is a bit dodgy, but what I like the best, well in my suburb anyway, is there is no crime. My parents have lived in the same house for 30 years with no alarm sytem and have never been robbed. Melbourne also hosts the Formula 1, Australian Open Tennis and Australian Open Golf There are many parks around Melbourne, and if you get to see the city at night it is beautiful and we love trams!!!
