Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)
kennethcole212 replied to rubik3's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hey Rubik, I noticed in the Petronas thread that you had a comparison with WTC w/the plaza. Is that a low quality render or what? I was very upset to see Petronas so much taller than WTC. Are you even doing the plaza anymore or is someone else finishing it? All I can say is that you are freakin' talented! I hope you get paid for your skills somewhere. -

Yeah a scale model of Manhattan huge like that would take up several footbal stadiums, but you could play Godzilla or king kong! lol!!! Its like playing simcity with blocks! And YOU could be the robot monster reaking havoc! I am so going to see that model!! And Vegas from 32,000 feet looks awesome! I remember flying over at night on the way to Los Angeles and seeing this huge blob of light out the window and I was looking for the Luxor light but couldn't see it till we turned a little. I love the Luxor, just had to say it!! -

Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)

Very kool Bigmac. I've always wanted to visit the Skyscraper Musuem, but when I went in 2002 it was in the process of moving. I can't wait to visit it at its new home in the Ritz Carlton Battery Park City, which is quite a pretty building btw. -

Thanks, Bigmac! I was always at the mall, wether it be transfering to the PATH or shopping, I was there way much more than I was in the plaza. It was really nice to see those pics. And in the last one of the Gap, that marble floor is the same on they left part of at the entrace from the E train to the what was the Mall. That floor just brings back so much memories, seeing it there. Amazing that they left that part. Thanks alot for the pics You have contributed much to this project, I thank you so much! Also if you come across and other pics, I'd love to see them -

I'm just speechless. That first in-game shot was amazing. I was at the site today thinking about the great work you are doing here. Trying to remember how the plaza was, i got to the site across from where the peace on earth sculpture was and just knowning that you are doing such a superb job just made me feel much better. It's harder now to picture everything since they've changed the sidewalks and created the viewing wall. By looking at your work here it will always keep the spirit of the World Trade Center and everything that happened that day alive. You are truly are doing an amzing undertaking here and it really is a masterpiece of art you are creating and so full of meaning for so many people. I really can't express how your awesome creation makes me and many other New Yorkers feel. Great Job! -

Date: 5/4/2004 3:19:14 PM Author: Date:5/4/2004 2:27:35 PM Author:rubik3 'Abbandond.' I can either start living out of my car, which means I won't have a computer to work on, or you can wait for me to make some money to pay my bills. Trust me, unless the sky starts falling and the planet starts crumbling away, this project will get done. If you want you can check out the WTC section on my site to see an overview of the best pics so far. www.redmoonimagery.com quote> I sure hate to hear stuff like that from someone who works so hard. Too bad you couldn't have a buck from every person across the planet who is showing those towers off in their cities! quote> Maybe he could have a dollar or more from everyone who has downloaded it. If someone could organize it, with paypal or a place to send money. I'd sure would be willing to contribute! Anyone else?! -

Rubik, Stop it! Of course you can take your sweet time. Simcity 4 will always be here and so will the twin towers in our game, so don't worry. We all need income, its what makes our capitalist society revolve So please, don't feel obligated to sacrifice your quality of living for us. Take your time and when it comes out it'll be sweeter than ever. -

well I for sure don't mind if the drive way doesn't work, but it was very important! That was were all the rich workers got dropped off by their livery services. And when its raining its very important! What? You want them to get wet!!!! lol hehe Also Rubik, will you make the over hang for the main entrance to WTC 1?? I wouldn't want my rich sims to get wet! -

Rubik this is a great plan! Go for it! Whateverwhatever, only WFC 3 and Winter Garden (which was rebuilt very quick) had substantial damage, the other WFC buildings had only facade damage. -

thats looks like a plan, Ruibk! You should have the two roads there functioning as an avenue. West St. somtimes know as West Side Highway, is just a semi-controled access high-way with lights and it is at ground level from 54 St. to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel which is just south of WTC site. -

I would prefer the larger one. As long as the tiles representing West St. could be connecting to avenues outside the lot and would function like an avenue. I'm sure you can do some pretty landscaping on the other side of West St. I believe right in front of the World Financial Center there is some gorgeous landscaping. Maybe make a bridge over West St, with stairs leading down for pedestrians. If memory serves me there was on the corner of Liberty St, and on come from WTC Six to the Winter Garden. I don't if it would seem real enough, but since the lot is impossible to be perfect due to the slant it maybe okay now. Thanks again for all the hard work you have done with this!! -

Rubik, you are doing such a great job on this. The plaza buildings look great and bring back so many wonderful memories. Thank you. I also wish to ask that, since you must re-render the towers, if you could make them as buildings and not props so we can query them easily. In my dense rendition of downtown, I can successfully query them on only one rotation. I often check to see if people are actually working in the world trade center. If you can do that it would be amazing! I can only give you much thanks and praise for the superb project! -

Great job Rubik! It is a shame, however, that you can't see the arches under the over-hang due to sc4's angle. I always remembered the plaza buildings that way, because I always entered the subway there via WTC 4. -

Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)
kennethcole212 replied to rubik3's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Rubik, Gorgeous! Absolutely amazing. I can just picture these towers gracing the skyline of my version of Lower Manhattan. As a New Yorker I can't wait for it! I've had to settle for using the bank of china tower twice, to get something into ground zero. Also I used the Columbia Seafist Center for 7 World Trade Center. I just couldn't leave it blank or a huge park or plaza. I check this thread everyday and I think my Simcity 4 experience with be greatly, enhanced by your creation. Thanks a million!!
